Don't put this or any other aluminum in a dishwasher, It's a caustic solution that tarnishes it and oxidizes it. This scoop is perfect. It will never bend, has no moving parts, has sharp edges and makes nice scoops that could be inserted in a bowl or cone. Don't use it like a shovel, you have to glide it over the ice cream and curl it. To have an iconic professional scoop for $25, thats a deal. Saves my spoons and it looks a lot better than non uniform scoops. "It's so expensive for an ice cream scoop", hey, you are the one reading reviews on ice cream scoops, and I'm sure this isn't the first scoop/review you looked at. Get it, tell your friends about the greatest ice cream scoop you bought. Move on.
