Honestly, it's a ~$65 Telescope. I wasn't expecting incredible quality. Works great, portability factor is awesome, solid (even though it's all plastic) build quality. Great entry level amateur telescope!
I bought it exclusively for camping, and it is just the perfect size for traveling.
using this for casual Stargazing works just fine, don't expect to see anything too far away, but these are better than Binoculars and a spotting scope. Then looking at the moon you will be very impressed with the clarity and the detail you are not used to seeing.
I looked at a few constellations. I was able to see a Binary Star when to the Naked Eye it appeared to be a single star.
I can't remember the Name of the Star but it was in May in the southern sky viewed from the United States.
On the bad side, the diagonal was not good. It produced a double image. I didn't care since I wouldn't be using it anyway. The finder was also not great. It worked, but was somewhat tricky to align. Again, I wasn't planning on using it so I didn't care.
Now for the good: The 70mm objective lens is surprisingly good for a "beginner" scope. It's actually a decent piece of glass. The rack & pinion focuser is just fine. With a little tension adjustment it worked better than I was expecting. The tripod was also better than I was expecting. I'm not using it, but it is a functional tabletop tripod and I'll find a use for it. The oculars were also better than expected and are going into my collection. The carrying case is great and I'm using it to hold accessories for my other scopes.
Now for the really good: The objective lens, optical tube assembly and focuser are excellent for the price. The focus tube is long enough for use with any CCD or CMOS camera. I mounted mine on a fluid pan-head mount, swapped out the finder, and am using it with a Celestron NexImage 5 camera for taking pics of the moon. The 400mm focal length combined with a 7mm CMOS chip provides the perfect field of view for lunar imaging. Put a decent 45-degree correcting diagonal on it and it makes an excellent spotter for birds, etc.. I'm using it for an ultra-light wide-field grab and go imager. I used it last night to grab some shots of the November full moon and it worked great! If you are a tinkerer like me, for 60 bucks you can't go wrong. If you are willing to spend a few extra bucks on a decent diagonal it can make an excellent spotting scope for under $100!

I suspected it would be plastic and rather "cheapo" looking, and I was right... it is!
But, it is not wobbly or bad to handle, surprisingly sturdy and good optics considering the price.
You do get what you pay for when it comes to telescopes and expecting to see "Hubble" images through this scope is bound to make you disappointed.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the crisp image this scope gave when looking at the moon.
The supplied barlow (3x) and eyepieces are laughable to a "serious" amateur-astronomer but they do actually perform very well. Unfortunately a 4mm eyepiece is too powerful for a scope like this, it would have made more sense to ship it with a 8 or 12 mm instead. The barlow is plastic but the lens is actually of quite good quality and does not stretch or blur the image noticeably around the edges. If you already have a set of eyepieces you can throw the supplied once in the garbage without any regret, if not, the supplied ones will work pretty good but don't expect any 300x magnifications to work, that's utter bull and shouldn't even be mentioned...
Make sure to use the 45 degree diagonal as you will not get focus otherwise...
You will get stunning views of the moon using this scope, you will also be able to see the bands on Jupiter and the rings on Saturn as well as track their moons.
I would rate the image quality of the scope to 4 stars considering the price but the poor quality of the eyepieces and the finder-scope takes it down to a 3 star.
