I use mine without batteries!

I use mine without batteries!
This is a great timer. Its simplicity can be a drawback for some but it does the basics quite well. I use several of these on our off grid homestead. For sunny locations, I replace the two AA batteries with wooden dowels with a brass screw and wires attached. I attach the wires to a small 3 volt solar panel ( sold on Amazon). When the sun hits the solar panel in the morning the valve opens and waters for the selected duration. If it is rainy it will not water. No batteries whatsoever and automatic rain delay. Most battery timers nowadays require you to press a reset button after power loss but this simple timer does not. It is the only one I know of that can be driven by a solar panel this way. There are solar timers on the market but they all have internal batteries. For shady locations I connect my timers with "wooden batteries" to a 3volt cigarette lighter plug adaptor sold at Radio Shack and run it off our 12 volt battery.

I bought two of these and wye. Connected source hose to wye inlet and left both manual valves on wye open. Connected a small piece of hose to one wye output, then one of these timers, then a long hose and a sprinkler. I connected the other timer I bought directly to the other wye output and then a hose and then another sprinkler. I put in the batteries (4 AAA each I think?) and set one of the timers to "daily 60 minutes" (which is the maximum amount of time it can be set to run daily). It is a bit weird but whatever time you turn it on is the same time it will turn on the next day. I wanted mine to go on at 5:30am and then 6:45am. So the morning before I connected them I turned one on (set it to 60 min daily) at 5:30am while it was unattached and sitting in the house and the other at 6:45. I just left them in that position when I connected them to the hose the next afternoon so it maintained those start times. Now I have a dual sprinkler system for a 40x60' area of newly planted grass that I don't have to do anything to other than turn off the hose valve if it rains the night before. They work great even though they are getting soaked and do not leak at all at the fittings which were only tightened by hand (no tools).

I chose this model because it looked easy enough to operate, had metal on at least 1 connection (users reported plastic breaking on other models), didn't have a digital display (would use more battery power and would be one more thing to break), and the price was right.
My water connection is in my basement not outside, with the hose running through the bulkhead doors, so the unit is protected from the elements and unauthorized tampering. There are absolutely zero leaks at the connection points and I have not heard my water pipes bang when the unit engages or switches off the water. I also have plenty of water pressure to my lawn sprinkler.
I was afraid the 'every other day' time options would not be sufficient but I started at 5 minutes and am now up to 30 minutes because the 5 and 10 minutes were not adequate. The soil looked wet but when I dug down, the soil below the surface was bone dry.
I wish there was a simple dedicated on/off switch that didn't impact the start time on days when it rains when you don't want the timer to activate.
Also, it's a tad inconvenient that the start time is tied to whenever you insert the batteries. However, I found a clever work around. If I turn the hose faucet off and on a few times while the sprinkler is not on, it resets the time to whenever I turn the facet...no need to remove the batteries and replace them during the different time setting!
BTW, the batteries are not included which seems silly since it's useless without them and it would only add another few bucks. Anywho, this has been working as intended so far and it deserves your serious consideration.

Handy and simple. Saved my vacation! I had seedlings that needed to hit the dirt fast, and plane tickets. Most of my plants can handle not being watered for a few days, but not seedlings. If I don't get them in the ground they will die on my kitchen counter. If I don't water them, winter planting is a bust. What to do? Get a timer for my drip hose.

Anyway, about the timer. Very simple usage and controls. Just turn it on at the time you want it turned on and select the minutes (up to 60). Then each day following at the same time it will water for the amount of time you selected and turn off. You can also select every other day and 3 days out. It has a cover for over the read-outs and batteries (AA not included) to prevent sun fading and to help keep out water. You connect it at the faucet then your hose/sprinkler, fountain whatever. Depending on your piping and condition of your hose it may leak while it is shut off. But I don't know if it was from my faucet, my irrigation, or the timer. It saved the tomatoes, so I didn't mind the puddle anyhow. Take it off if you aren't using it and remove the batteries. Nice price too :)

I use this digital timer connected to my faucet outside and then to my garden to water my flowerbeds. It works well on AA batteries and the timer is pretty accurate.

It was easy to install and use. After 2 weeks, the plastic part that attaches to the faucet broke and water leaked everywhere. It is a good thing we were home because I saw the flooding water from the house after 15 or so minutes. It would have been a disaster if we were out of town.

The support has been non existent. No one answers the phones. You go through phone tree hell and then they say they will call you back. Instead of a callback, you get a text bot. At the end of the text bot questioning you get told to go online and fill out the warranty bot process. At the end of that, you get an orbit credit for about 2/3rds of the warranty price and you are told you will still have to pay tax and shipping on the replacement!

I'm not kidding. This is the very definition of abysmal service. 1 star for the product. Negative stars for the service.

After trying so many digital ones that would constantly leak. I have finally stumbled upon this gem and it was amazing! No leaks, battery doesn’t run out quick, turns on right on time. How it works is you need to turn it on at a time you want it to go off the next day or every other day (you choose on the dial) and it will automatically turn on at that same time the next day or when you choose. This doesn’t have an option to turn on more than once a day and I wasn’t looking for that but in case you are just know it’s not with this one. I loved it so much I got my sister one too. We don’t have to worry about watering our lawn, this handles it all for us

The timer works great and the way it is expected, easy to use.
When batteries run out, sometimes it leaves the water open and I had a couple of situations where it flooded my garden.
So I need to be very aware of batteries the whole time.
