I have 2 rescued cats w/feline aids thus predisposed for digestive issues, weepy eyes and congestion. Gut health affects many things. While L-lysine works great to improve symptoms of this disease, there are concerns over long term use. This probiotic is gentler and works almost as well w/less worry. It is pricey when using one packet a day (I divide it between 2 feed bowls) but they like it and it works -- one cat now refuses to eat his dry kibble unless it's sprinkled with this.
Update: using this daily over months now has regulated both cats. Stools are now normal instead of diarrhea, no more gas (room clearing it was). I still use L-lysine periodically for the weepy eyes. I changed from 4 stars to 5 -- takes time but it's so worthwhile for healthier cats.
