There were some scratches on the finish but let's be honest... I'm not struttin' this rack around town, it's not in the elements inside my garage and it's used to rack my seasonal tires. Still 5 stars all the way.
The bars they use are nice and hefty by the way. The welds and build quality are solid all around.
The tires I have up there right now are 265 70 17 winter wheels and tires and my 275 65 18 all season should fit up there just the same.
You can see that I mounted mine really high. To make it easier to get the 70 lb wheels and tires up that high I used a cheap block and tackle. Super-Handy Heavy-Duty 4,000 LB Capacity Rope Hoist -- it's a really cheap solution, the pulleys have more friction than I'd like... again, not the best but I do this twice a year. Just make sure you use a way over powered hook properly anchored to a beam on the ceiling. The one I'm using (from Home Depot) is rated for 375 lbs... not designed for overhead lifting but the job didn't stress the setup at all. In fact my 5 yo daughter was able to hoist it.
Finally my wheels and tires are up and out of the way!! Thank you! ...looks cool too.

By some miracle, it survived shipping without losing any parts. Nothing was damaged inside, a few minor imperfections on the parts you couldn't see unless you were up close looking, possibly factory vs shipping. The wrapping around the individual pieces did seem to save the surfaces despite everything rattling and rubbing.
Once I got past the near-miss-disaster of the shipping box, the instructions were easy, the hardware logical and the overall install fairly easy assuming you have mounted basic items before (skills like finding studs, using a level, not over-tightening bolts, etc). It's a little tricky, especially on a ladder, to get the chrome bars opened wide enough if you need to make adjustments after it's set up. But, at least you can. This is the only unit I could find which is sized to hold 4x 315+ tires with room to spare. The finish on the black and chrome parts all looks good overall. It's functional looking without being ugly to wife or me. Also, as long as you don't drag the rubber "feet" over the wall when adjusting the width, it's very gentle on your wall paint and you'd only have a few bolt holes to fill in if you wanted to put the wall back.
Got it for 18" tires ranging from 305-345mm and it's been holding 4 of them for months. Only part of it that looks chintzy is the chrome bars, with the larger bar being too gappy / not snugly wrapping the inner bar. I'd be nervous putting wheels in all those tires and seeing the loose bars trying to hold that extra weight, since they already sag slightly with just 4 empty tires. For now, it's working great and I'll certainly update review if it doesn't seem safe in the future.
