Made in GermanyAll CK heaters are made by us in our factory in Germany. We pride ourselves on a reputation for engineering & manufacturing excellence since 1924. |
Ultra quiet fanCK and CKT heaters have galvanized steel, squirrel cage type blowers that operate at a quiet 49.7 dB(a). The glass-reinforced poly-carbonate, radial type blower in CK Trend heaters operates at an even quieter 49 dB(a). |
Even-heating down-draft designCK and CKT heaters pull in cool room air from the top and blow warm air out the bottom. This down-draft design helps to evenly heat a space for maximum comfort. |
Stand-alone or supplemental heatCK heaters can be the sole heat source for small rooms. They can also supplement heat to a room that doesn’t get warm enough from a central source, as sometimes happens with a mini-split retrofit. |

Built-in thermostatAll CK heaters have an integral thermostat for easy heat adjustment. CK and CKT heaters can be controlled by a wall thermostat in a room larger than 215 sq. ft. |
Booster timer on CKTThe CKT booster timer outputs heat at maximum for up to 60 minutes. When the timer goes off, the CKT reverts to its thermostat setting, maintaining comfort at the original setting. |
Frost protection settingCK heaters have a frost protection setting. The lowest thermostat setting will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space. |
CK Trend On/Off SwitchThe CK Trend’s convenient and positive on/off switch completely shuts the heater off when it is not needed. The off position will disable the frost protection setting. |

Installation notes
These heaters are not supplied with a cord and must be hard-wired.
CK and CKT models stick out 5“ from the wall and the CK Trend models 5⅛”.
Because these are fan heaters that blow warm air out the bottom, the recommended installation location is about 6-8” off floor, with 4” for a minimum.
All CK heaters should be mounted vertically.
Observe all installation manual precautions regarding minimum allowed clearances between the installed appliance and any hard surfaces.
Do not allow combustible materials on or near the heater.

Product description
Stiebel Eltron CK-15E Wall Mounted Electric Heater with Internal Thermostat
Stiebel Eltron’s elegant surface-mount CK heater is perfect anywhere quick heat is needed. Designed and made in Germany, this quiet fan heater quickly warms an area or maintains a comfortable temperature. Perfect for both retrofit and new construction, the European downdraft design heats a space evenly. CK heaters easily replace older flush-mount heaters and are ideal for bathrooms, basements, offices, playrooms, 3-season porches, cabins, campers or RVs, and mobile homes. The built-in fan is extremely quiet in operation at only 49.7 dB. A thermostat with an adjustable knob for setting temperature is located on the right side of the CK. In rooms larger than 215 sq. ft., the CK can be operated through a conventional wall-mounted room thermostat. The CK is designed with a frost protection setting. The lowest thermostat setting will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space. The external casing is made of stove-enameled sheet steel. The sides are made from plastic. The CK heater is designed to have its components recycled at the end of its useful life. Stiebel Eltron is a world-leading German manufacturer of technically superior products since 1924.

As I was using this in an RV, I did not want it to move easily, so I bent a L bracket and inserted through bottom where there is a slot then bent it with vise grips to be flush, making it very firmly attached to the wall.
Function wise this heater works great, there is a twist dial on the side (which can be by passed for a thermostat or put in anti-freeze mode that will only turn on at 32*F) The blower is fairly quiet, and move the air about 10 feet out. The exterior of the unit is completely cold to the touch even after being on for hours, with the only warm (not hot)spot being the outlet air grill. I love this in the small space as there are no fire concerns, for someone with pets/ kids this would also be nice to prevent burns.
I might buy few more, great unit!
Hardwiring the unit in is definitely for someone experienced or a pro - took my Dad (a lifetime of construction experience) about 3-4 hours from start to finish, but he also had to update our main electric box and then update an old fuse box to circuit breaker box so that the heater could be on it's own breaker box. He also installed a couple extra outlets for me on a separate circuit in the room. Additional supplies to install this {not including labor} ended up being around $130 for all the breakers & wiring & new outlets - but this was due to us needing mostly to update our existing old wiring from the 70's that no longer meets safety codes. If you have an open circuit or don't plan on needing to draw much energy and can get by on 50' of wire, you could probably do this for $30-$50 easily.
So far it is keeping the room nice and cozy - we have it on the lowest setting right now since we're still in renovation phase - weather outside is slightly above freezing here {35-40 degrees at night}, but I expect it do just fine in the winter. The fan blows warm air on you almost instantly if you turn it on or turn up the heat, and it's very quiet when it runs - I think maybe even quieter than the forced air heat from the furnace we have in the rest of the house.
The design is very nice and sleek. Everyone who sees this little heater has wanted to know more about it! One other note: Some reviewers shared pictures of yellow wires sticking up from the top, but I'm not really sure how/why they had that problem...my only guess is must be in the way they ran the wires through the wall and where holes were drilled for the wiring, like maybe the hole was too high? With ours, there is a bit of a gap between the heater and the wall from the way the wall mount is designed, but the wires aren't visible unless you stand at a certain angle to see behind the unit and are trying to see them.
Attached some pictures here of the inside of the heater for hooking it up and from the instruction manual. All in all, great product!

You have to be handy to deal with something that is hard-wired in (or use an electrician). But once installed, it's neat and very effective for its purpose. The built-in thermostat is accurate to the setting you choose and the fan is quiet when it comes on.
So what's not to like? Given that you must have a cable-clamp and one that fits their cut-out, it's annoying to have to go to HD to buy a 6-pack just to use one. Include the clamp with the heater!
The Instruction booklet has dozens of pages of stupid "safety" warnings, in multiple languages, but doesn't include either a template or the measurements for the needed mounting holes. Annoying! (And cost them 1 star on my review.)
Top reviews from other countries
My only complaint is that it is a little louder than I'd hoped. Loud enough that it is hard to fall asleep with it on in the same room. It isn't really load, much nicer than some cheaper fan heaters, and perfectly fine for working, homework, or reading. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I'd hoped for something even quieter.
For next winter I may move to the hall outside the bedroom. It generates enough heat and that should be far enough away that it won't be too loud.
So overall I recommend it, just think about placement if you plan to sleep nearby.
We use it in a sunroom to melt the ice and snow off the clear roof. It has been recently installed so we don’t know how it will fair in the longrun but we are very pleased to date.
