September 2022 update: My Aerroccino still working 100% great - we still love it. For cholesterol reasons, we've been using goat milk, and that makes great froth too! Interior surface of the unit and both wisks have lasted just fine - but we are very gentle in cleaning the aerroccino with soft towels (nothing more abrasive than paper towels), and we clean the Aeroccino right away, then towel dry and then air dry with the lid off. Still looks and works like new :) We are very careful not to get the exterior surfaces wet beyond using a damp cloth very carefully over the non-electronic areas. We store the wisks in the Aerroccino unit itself (using wisk holding peg inside lid and on bottom), but always remove the extra wisk before using the unit. We also store the Aerroccino a few yards away from its base, and we always unplug the base when not in use, and we keep magnetic things away from both the unit and the base. So we've used regularly for about a decade, and it looks and works like new :) Hope this is useful info for you.

Before my 2nd frother purchase I had read all the reviews here and was surprised that they are so split. My question was: how can a product be so amazing for half the buyers and so terrible (in other words, stops working) for the other half? Not having had ANY issues with my first frother, I went ahead with the purchase, without letting the negative reviews discourage me.
I average making 2 lattes a day with the home machine and frother, and about 6 lattes/5 times a week with the machine/frother at work. The Aeroccino Plus frothers do an excellent job frothing or heating up the milk. Unlike some reviewers, I don't have a problem with the milk temperature. I think the milk comes out very hot, and has a slight appealing caramelized smell to it.
I use Stoneyfiled organic 2% milk, which I find to be working out great. I can't say that I tried every type of milk out there, but I did try Hood 2% milk, and the result was a bit different, with about half the froth compared with the organic milk. My sister uses the same frother and said that she has tried using several types of non organic milks and they all work great.
As far as using the frother, I think people run into issues by not knowing or realizing that there are a few simple "rules".
There are 2 level indicators inside the frother, 2 MAX lines, depending on which attachment is used. I believe that some people might think that these are min/max lines, which they are not. The lower max line is to be used with the whisk like attachment, which makes foam (hot or cold) and is used for preparing cappuccinos. If someone uses the whisk like attachment and fills the frother past the 1st line, the milk fill overflow. The 2nd max line is to be used with the plastic only attachment. It heats up the milk (by quickly pressing on the black rubber button -red light will be on) and is used for preparing lattes. It does create a bit of foam as well. If someone forgets to put one of the two attachments inside the frother and tries to heat or foam milk, the machine will not work...(it did happen to me once!)
As far as people trying to reheat milk that was already heated, it will not work. A sensor prevents this from being possible. Like I mentioned before, I've never had an issue with the milk not being hot enough, so it's not a concern for me.
As far as clean up goes: I never submerge the frothers in water, even though the bottom is waterproof. I rinse the inside in warm water and use a soft cloth with a bit of dishwashing liquid when needed. I let air dry or wipe down with a dish towel. Most of the time, just rinsing and air drying works like magic. I'm not sure why some people have an issue with the Teflon coating delaminating, or wearing off. Maybe harsher cleaning methods are used, or metal spoons to scoop out the foam? In any case I will update my review on the condition of the Teflon coating in a year or sooner.
Another "rule" I stick by, is to not leave the frother on its base when not in use.
As far as the functionality of the frother goes, some people complain that the Aeroccino Plus does not allow for enough milk to be heated or foamed at once. I actually don't consider this to be a problem at all. I am able to make 2 small lattes with one batch of heated milk, but usually run the frother for every cup I make. At work, I make 5 lattes (for myself and 4 coworkers) within literally 10 minutes. That includes rinsing and wiping the frother between each latte. In comparaison, I to have 2 traditional expresso machines, and it used to take me 15 minutes to make 2 lattes.
In conclusion, I am extremely happy with both Aeroccino Plus frothers I have and do not have any issues with either one.
I will update this review if something changes in the future.
*******update*********
I've had two Aeroccino Frothers for well over a year now. Using one daily making 2 to 3 lattes/cappuccinos a day and the other 5 times a week, making 2 to 5 lattes a day. No issues whatsoever with either one! Still making great hot foamed milk. I get equal results with skim, part-skim, whole milks and the machine also does a great job heating/foaming almond milks! Even almond vanilla works great. Most importantly, the teflon coating on each machine is still in perfect condition! Not even as much as a scratch to be seen!
I am still so very impressed with this product.
