Product Description
The most technologically advanced aquarium heater available today, Fluval E300 Advanced Electronic Heater with VueTech technology delivers peace of mind thanks to several excellent features.Equipped with an intelligent digital microprocessor monitoring system with dual temperature sensors, this heater continuously monitors and displays aquarium water temperature, ensuring the safety and well-being of your aquarium inhabitants.
Important information
The Fluval Advanced Electronic Aquarium Heater is a highly accurate, safe and feature rich heater for your aquarium. With easy to adjust temperature controls, you can quickly and precisely set in 0.5° increments. With VUE Tech Technology, you can check the temperature of your aquarium anytime, in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, on the LCD display. The temperature readout will change color is the aquarium water varies =/-1°C or +/-2° F or more from the pre-set temperature. If the temperature is of the water is affected by outside equipment and causes the aquarium water to rise or fall beyond 3°C or 5.5° F, the colored screen will flash indicating potential risk. The advanced E Heater microprocessor detects and displays some abnormal or nonoptimal usage conditions, which require verification and proper action by the owner. The possible error codes are the following: E1 - The “E” Heater has gone into error status and has removed power from the heating element. This error status can only be reset by unplugging the unit. Possible Cause and Solution: The “E” Heater has detected an abnormal usage condition. Unplug the heater. Check that all application conditions are correct according to the instructions, including the respect of the MIN water level. Start up the heater again following the “Installation” instructions above. LF - The “E” Heater will keep on operating, although its proper operation is inhibited due to poor water circulation around the heater. The error status will be automatically reset once adequate water circulation around the heater has been provided and the heater has had time to recalibrate itself. Possible Cause and Solution: The “E” Heater has detected poor water circulation around the heater. The even and thorough distribution of warmed water inside the tank could be limited by the inadequate circulation. Ensure adequate water circulation around the heater and inside the aquarium. Verify installation conditions outlined in the “INSTALLATION” instructions.

Overall, showed up timely, good, secure packaging, fair price, good quality heater... I would definitely purchase another one if necessary...
***Update, Nov 7th...*** It's been 6+ months and the heater is still going strong... I still have it in my 100 gallon and actually, the other heater I was using with it seeming doesn't always work correctly. Sometimes it seems the thermostat part is not functioning and it keeps warning even after it reaches the desired temp or even when it is turned all the way down... So I took it out completely and the Fluval E300W still has no problem(that I can tell) keeping it warm enough by itself... So far so good now for about almost 3 months of working solo... I'd definitely recommend and would purchase again when necessary...
Update:
So I’ve had the heater for 11 months and have learn a couple of things which will help keep its efficiency. Once a month ensure to clean the entire protective housing with a tooth brush to remove any debris which may get lodged; and once every three months remove the outer protective plastic grill / cover and wiped down the glass shaft of the heater to remove all the build up of algae and milk on its outer surface. If you don’t the sensor inside is unable to sense the water flow and the heater will display the “LF” trouble code on the screen. LF stands for “Low Flow.” Cleaning the glass housing every three months prevents this from happening.
Thus, I would highly recommend this heater.

It does have to be set in a spot that has water flowing over it though, or it will not work correctly. When I first put it in my tank, I thought it was in a spot that had some current, but it wasn't enough. The temp went from 77 down to 72 over night like some of the previous posts stated, so I thought, as other did that it was junk.
I then re-arranged the configuration so that my spray bar for my canister filter pointed the output directly across the heater, and its been a constant 77.5 degrees ever since. It will fluctuate slightly (maybe a single degree at the most) if the house gets cold over night, or the house gets hot on a hot day, but I think that would be the case with any heater.
I think that since the heater is covered with the shroud, the water will get too hot around the heater tube itself, keeping it from cycling like it normally would if it wasn't covered, thus causing the overall temperature in the rest of the tank to drop. It seems to me that if they designed it so that you have the option of taking off the cover, it wouldn't need the current to take the warmed water away from the heater tube. I have had several heaters over the years with the same wattage that didn't have a cover, and I don't remember any of them burning my fish.
Overall, its a great heater if you set it up according to the directions. Its nice to have a good digital thermometer telling me what the temp of the water is, which is why I bought it in the first place.

Wenn man ihn geschickt am Auslauf des Filters platziert, ist er perfekt und hält die Temperatur sehr zuverlässig. Ich habe 4 davon in Betrieb und bin sehr zufrieden.
