Good size. she scratched the posts right away and sat on the bottom. It took a couple days for her to get in the hammock and now she's in it all the time. Based on long experience with cats I didn't try to put her in it or even show her. quietly put it down while she wasn't looking and totally ignored it. This cat especially it has to be her idea. Doesn't take up much space and looks good

I'VE been buying Trixie hammock for years. Of course, I also bought cheaper lookalikes in that time. However, our cats consistently preferred Trixie. So after 4 years, I gave up and bought only Trixie.
My husband has been feeding a stray. He wanted her to have a hammock too, so I bought a new one.
Here's a photo of Chloe who jumped onto it soon after assembly. Now that Chloe jumped onto my lap, Miles jumped onto the hammock.
Maybe I need to replace our older Trixie with new ones.
But seriously, my cats used these every day. The scratching posts are good too because I had to teach Miles to scratch on the post instead of furniture. (I think his previous owner didn't provide scratching posts. Yes, he uses scratching posts by himself now).
I highly recommend these hammock, scratching posts combo. They are stylish. I also recommend putting a plushy towel or fabric on the hammock. Towels or fabric are easier to wash than cleaning the hammock.
Xena is black, so her fur are always noticable. The ivory furry fabric I placed on the hammock makes cleaning a snap.

She loves the scratcher post and how soft it is. The 16in is perfect for my 13 lb cat.
It has also been extremely safe and sturdy. The only reason we got a new one was that we noticed the top post was starting to get a hole in it and the bed was sagging a lot. But after 5 years of sleeping it in everyday, it held up so well!
I added photos of the used vs. new bed and you can see the used one is still in good shape (just really hairy). We plan to still keep the old one in our other room.
In summary, this is a great bed that our cat absolutely loves! It gives her a cozy place to sleep, a scratching post, and is safe for her to sleep in for long hours. We highly recommend!
