great handle bar

great handle bar
I like adding these to mountain bikes for a more upright ride that is still off road stable. You will need to replace you present cables for longer ones, to make up for the added height. but the added comfort is worth such a minor modification.

These bars are no joke. They are a bit heavy but they are solid! I prefer the feel of these to my s&m slam bars. These bars would still be a good deal at double the price. Get them you'll like em.

Update: Used these for 5 years now, pounding them like crazy. I am a big heavy dude and I break stuff like crazy. The bars are still good, no bends after plenty of crashes. Wish my body was as strong.

Just put these on my Beast and went for a ride. Makes a world of difference! They are very solid and a bit heavy. The paint is perfect and very glossy. The only thing they should have done to make these bars a bit better is to have grooves at the base that goes into the clamp. Make sure to tighten everything up! I recommend these bars. Great price for a solid set of handle bars!

Good bars, they are 7/8 inch thick even tho I could not find that info on the website! I used problem solvers adapter also sold here to fit a 1 inch neck. It made the bike a giant and looks cool. No more leaning over to ride. I also used bell universal cable kit for 5.00 dollars at walmrt, and everything worked great. Now I have a BMX style mountain bike. Or just a cruiser bike made for a tall person..

They feel sturdy and installed easily, but when they showed up, the box was torn open and the end of the bars had been dragged across the ground.

These Diamondback "generic" Cr-Mo replacement bars have a sturdy feel, the welds look well done, and the gloss black finish looks very good. The cross-bar is actually bigger OD than the main bar and is ovalized at the ends for fit, which is kind of cool. The only down-side, which I already suspected based on the price (and all straight-gauge construction) is that the weight is NOT 1 lb, 12oz as stated in Amazon and other places on the web. These bars weigh 2 lb, 5oz. If you are counting every oz., you will likely have to pay a lot more to get lighter ones this size. To me, the sturdiness counts more and they are a great deal.

Used to replace the handle bars on a Phatmoto. Much better steel than originals. Now I can sit and ride and not be hunched over the handlebars. Kept having second thoughts about needing more than the 8.5 in rise but it is perfect height for 6 ft tall me.

Not even close to what I was expecting they measure the bars from the bottom to the top where grips mount not from bottom to cross bar. Very childish design and not at all what I expected from diamondback. Would have rather spent alil more money on a legitimate set of BMX bars.

Bought a new MTB but it came with stock flat handlebars and, at 6'2", with my seat raised up I felt like I was endanger of sliding forward if a quick stop happened. Plus my neck was killing me from trying to see forward when my body was pointed down.

Not anymore, the Diamondback bars are the answer. With an 8 1/2" rise I'm sitting upright and comfortable even when I have to pull bars up over a curb or bear down when pumping the pedals uphill. For most bikes, you will need shims to adapt the 7/8" bars to fit a 1" neck but they are readily available online or at bike shops. Also, with a 271/4 " width versus the normal 24" bars, there is even more room for shifter, brake and hand grips on the bar ends.

There have been comments about the weight being more than most other bars but lets face it, unless you are planning on racing or doing a cross country trip what does an extra pound mean? Frankly, for me it makes no difference at all, in fact I'm glad to have the extra strength.

Also, someone mention the lack of grooves at the clamp area...maybe Diamondback was listening...mine have very well defined grooves.

All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend these handle bars nor would I hesitate to buy them again

Diamondback - my neck and back thank you!!
