Not anymore, the Diamondback bars are the answer. With an 8 1/2" rise I'm sitting upright and comfortable even when I have to pull bars up over a curb or bear down when pumping the pedals uphill. For most bikes, you will need shims to adapt the 7/8" bars to fit a 1" neck but they are readily available online or at bike shops. Also, with a 271/4 " width versus the normal 24" bars, there is even more room for shifter, brake and hand grips on the bar ends.
There have been comments about the weight being more than most other bars but lets face it, unless you are planning on racing or doing a cross country trip what does an extra pound mean? Frankly, for me it makes no difference at all, in fact I'm glad to have the extra strength.
Also, someone mention the lack of grooves at the clamp area...maybe Diamondback was listening...mine have very well defined grooves.
All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend these handle bars nor would I hesitate to buy them again
Diamondback - my neck and back thank you!!
