Robust, Reliable and Awesome!
This thing is awesome. Using it for rehearsals and playback. Very flexible...It plays from just about any source, and it seems robust and reliable. What else can I say except chose the model that has the options you want. This one does not have the blue tooth but has a remote, so get the other one if you want to control the unit from your phone.

Great Product. Simple and Clean front panel without a lot of un-necessary bells & whistles (ie it doesn't have lots of un-needed extra knobs, sliders, bright flashing multi-colored lights and/or moving EQ lights & adjustments that you see on CD Players made for "DJs", these things tend to confuse novices who may operate the church sound system) . Just basic straight forward playback function with 1 knob/button for pitch control and in a unit with rock solid construction, consistent operation and a good name brand. It comes with rubber feet on it, which are removable if you are rack mounting with something right up against the bottom side of it, which we did. Great product for a fair price. I have installed/upgraded small church sounds systems and have used this product more than once. Never had anything but wonderful results. Highly recommended.

I purchased this CD player primarily because of it's excellent transport, but I am so pleased to report that the entire unit is "pro quality" as advertised. Very well built and nicely finished; all controls function smoothly with a solid, high-quality feel. The internal transport is indeed top shelf - totally silent and perfectly accurate. I am utilizing the coax digital output from this CDP to my external DAC, but I've found that the internal DAC in the CD-200 is also of high quality. I have no idea whose DAC chip Tascam used in this CDP, but they picked a good one. Unbelievably high value item!!!

This is a piece of cake - loading mechanism is quiet, works perfect, quality is very high. The only what is annoying is a lot of functions and abilities of this product. However, I do not have complains at all. The best what I like that I can dub the music from CD to flash card or SD card even this product has a name Player. I use optical cable to get maximum from the sound.
The only what I do not understand - I cannot turn unit on/off with remote....

I just got my CD200 and wanted to write a much more in depth review then most have, to really give the end user some info about this machine in use.

I have to say I really do like how this player sounds, Note to anyone that for some reason may think this is a recorder, it is in fact a player and has only outputs. If a player is what you are looking for please continue reading my review.

All testing was done on my set of Energy Monitors made in Canada, a Carver M500t, and a Classic Urei 1620 as the mixer preamp set completely flat. This should give you a good idea of the sound to expect.

Lets get right to the sound, so how does this player sound, I would have to say it has a very smooth high end with a really punchy well defined mid and bottom. The D/A Converter in this machine sounds nice and clean. Very similar to what I loved about my classic Natural Sound Yamaha's and that I have not found in other machines.

Even recordings that sound harsh on other players example: "Super Tramp Breakfast In America" sound smooth and pleasing to this reviewers ear, yet not muted nor muddy in any way, Well recorded vocals have a nice open out in front presence. Piano on Tori's CD "Boys For Pele" sounds very natural and maintains great depth and definition without a cluttered bottom.

I have also been putting it through some of the simple tests I use to see how accurately a CD Player can cue tracks with little to no servo slop. My favorite CD for this challenge is the Led Zep album from 1969 titled Led Zeppelin, why you ask would this prove anything? well I am going to tell you, yes there is a method to my madness.

This CD is a problem for most CD Players that I have used over the years, because of the way 2 tracks were mastered so tightly together that unless the machine could determine the exact beginning of the song "Dazed And Confused" it would play a quarter second of the last note in the song "You Shook Me". My original high end Yamaha CD2000's passed this cue test no problem where most would fail.

Why is this a big deal? The reason is, because this would be totally unacceptable in a pro set up. For example if this was used to cue a song at a Radio Station, Play or Studio. We would want the player to start the track at the exact second, if not it will sound like an audio glitch for some Tracks.

The reason why I wanted to point this out is for some that may use this in a pro setting it is extremely accurate at cuing tracks. I see no mention of this in the few reviews listed here or anywhere else. In fact it excels in this. You cant expect this from just any consumer deck. They are not created equal at all and were not designed to do so. If cuing accuracy is important this is a great choice.

Build quality, some say build is really good. My opinion is average build, and could be a lot better. Yes I am very picky about my gear.

For the money it is acceptable. My comparison on this is based on many other Tascam products I also own where the build fit and finish is much higher. I do not like the overly bright LCD based display at all and feel this was a big mistake on Tascam's part to choose such a display. Really a nice easy to read at any angle standard florescent display would have been the best choice in my opin. I will try and find a way to make this a lot dimmer and am surprised that no dimmer control is provided to set this to your own taste, as Oppo has done with there Blu-Ray decks.

This is nit picking but the logo badge is not in perfect alignment with the model number and it should be, this shows lack of attention to detail. The front panel should be the same epoxy finished aluminum as past products were built with, not plastic as this is.

The remote is really cheep in look and feel, they should have provided a much nicer remote and have skimped on this big time, looks and feels very generic no weight at all even with the batteries installed.

I feel those corners shouldn't have been cut in a pro type deck. Considering some consumer decks still use nice real aluminum face plates. The rotary controls are not of the same Tascam HQ that I am used to, they feel a little flimsy and have play in them. Not the norm for any Tascam I have ever owned. My 122 MK2 controls are rock solid in comparison and still work like new.

The overall cabinet build is better with a fairly thick steel chassis that feels pretty solid considering how most products are built today.

Again I feel the sound is excellent and the cue capability of the transport is very accurate, so on this it is a great buy. I just wish they would have paid more attention to detail and provided a much better display, or at the very least a way to dim this immensely bright LCD display.

If someone has a mod and knows how to dim the display without a lot of fuss please do comment.

This is a good, solid CD player. Because I still have many CDs (in addition to the many downloaded digital versions that most of us now have), I wanted a reliable unit for playback during the next few decades. I really don't want or expect to buy another one during my lifetime, so I wanted something that'll last, and something of a slightly higher quality. This is it. I've owned a number of TASCAM products over the years, and they're easy to use and reliable. I've been quite pleased for many months.

Good sound, and a nice transport. Unfortunately I found the display to be nearly useless. With the player set up near waist level, when I walk up close enough to press the buttons the display becomes illegible. I have to bend way down to get to an angle where the display becomes readable. I knew immediately that I would be returning it, which I did. I ended up getting an Onkyo C-7030 instead.

When I bought this from Amazon in August, I tested it and it worked. I used it in the middle of October to play one track and it worked. Three days ago I turned it on and the unit displayed the message “DRV ERR”. The unit would no longer play CD’s. The owner’s manual says that when this message is displayed, the unit should be sent to a repair center. Amazon won’t take it back because it’s been longer than 30 days since I purchased it. Today, I shipped it to Montebello, California to get it fixed. Shipping and insurance cost $41.45. It should be repaired under warranty since it is slightly less than 90 days since I purchased it. If they deem the unit defective they will repair and cover return shipping; otherwise I will have to pay for return shipping and possibly cost of repair. This unit is not the great “value” I was expecting. Fortunately, I have a 15 year old Denon CD player that has never failed and will continue using it until the Tascam is repaired.

The Tascam arrived October 29, 2018. It was manufactured in June 2018. I needed a replacement for my 1991 Genexxa CD player which would no longer read CDs. Tried Onkyo C-7030, but returned it because of unacceptable transformer noise. Tried another Onkyo C-7030, same noise. The Tascam features a nearly silent transformer. Late at night, with neither fridge nor furnace running, one foot away I could hear the Genexxa, and two feet away I could hear the Tascam. As for its digital-to-analogue capabilities, I am a poor judge, since the only comparison is to the Genexxa, which was a medium-level product way back in 1991. Nevertheless, I'll say that the sound of the Tascam is richer and more realistic. The remote uses AA batteries, which is a good choice, since they are cheaper and last longer than AAA. Amazon has posted a link to a PDF of the user manual, so you can read about the features.
