The only knock I can give is that it was shipped in a cardboard tube. When the package arrived, the tube was mostly torn and missing on one end and one of the rubber washers was no where to be found. When I inspected the bar, it did have a small bend to it. I have been using it since it would be a pain to return it but I wish better packaging or more careful handling by the shipper was used.
If I could go back in time however. I would definitely recommend skipping a 1" bar and just going into 2" olympic bars. I was trying to be as cheap and frugal as I could, but in the long run I've really just cost myself money by not investing in better more durable equipment with higher weight capacities from the start. So if you take training seriously, and you want to get stronger and lift more weights than this bar is rated for, do yourself a favor and just get a heavier duty bar.
Still, all that said, Its served me well, and continues to serve me well, while I still put off getting a heavier bar, since it hasnt broken yet.
Edit: I've now put 350 lbs on it multiple times (356lbs if you count the bar itself) , and its still going strong, though it does flex at that much weight. Worth noting that the amazon page now seems to say this is a threaded bar? Mine is the RB-72, non threaded version. Currently looking for a better 1" diameter bar so I dont have to buy all new weights, because I can deadlift more weight than i currently own. I could get some more heavier 1 inch plates, but Im still worried about going too far over the weight capacity and maybe having it snap or something. Can't find its max PSI rating or anything anywhere which is frustrating.
Edit: I’ve now placed 395lbs on this (411lbs including the bar itself) and deadlifted at that weight without it breaking multiple times. I did finally bite the bullet and get myself an olympic barbell and weights to replace it. But for a cheap bar thats rated for 250lbs max, this barbell has really gone above and beyond what was promised.
After losing 10 lbs and feeling good about myself, I was motivated to exercise and workout at home to lose more weight and to also save money from kickboxing classes so I started purchasing exercise equipment and weights for the first time.
I'm not a serious weight lifter but rather wanted to simply burn calories and fat while gaining some muscles.
I started my home workouts with push ups, sit ups and dumbbells for first 2 months mixing with some cardio exercises and I lost another 10 lbs.
However, I felt like I was neglecting my legs and my lower body so after asking around, I found that squat is one of the best workouts for your legs and lower body (as well as your cores!).
So I purchased this barbell along with squat stands and I loved it!
As you can see in the picture, there is one or two nicks on the barbell but it doesn't really affect my weight training, especially since I have gloves on. You really can't go wrong with this barbell for its price. All other barbells cost at least twice more if not 3 times or higher.
I also like the fact that this is one solid piece rather than some other cheap barbells that come in two pieces where you have to join and lock them in the middle. I don't think I want to take any chance of two piece barbell coming apart while doing the squats :) I'm taking 1 star away only because it didn't come with the rubber rings at the end and because of the small nicks but again, this is a solid buy for its price!
*** TIP ***
If you are looking to buy a barbell for squats, the squat stand is a must-have so that you don't hurt yourself. Therefore, you should get at least 72" long barbell or even longer because the squat stands takes up spaces on the floor in order to prevent from tipping over.
With this 72" long barbell, I have enough space to stand in between squat stands but if you get anything shorter than 72" barbell, the squat stand legs will be on your way during the workout.
I hope this helps and if it did, please click on the helpful button below! Thanks and good luck!

It's a strong metal bar for hanging heavy weights on. Nice textured grip area, feels super sturdy and fits well in the hands.
