This morning I ate my breakfast in the bathroom while supervising an emergency toddler bath...while this little machine was scrubbing away in the living room! I don’t even have to think about getting out a bucket and scrubbing brush to get messes out of carpet or off furniture. Just fill the reservoir, set it in place and go about your business. Soooo worth it!!Originally bought this because our geriatric cat started having accidents around the house. Unfortunately, she passed in January, but now I use it for when my toddler makes messes! Today was one of those days.So, this machine has one rotating scrubbing disk on its bottom side (See photo). This disk is what you set on top of the mess and select the setting you want (Quick or Deep Clean). There is also a vacuum hose tool attachment with a finger trigger (See photo) which sprays the area with the cleaning liquids from the reservoir and then vacuum it up. It also has scrubbing bristles on the bottom so you can scrub by hand while vacuuming it up if the mess needs extra attention.Reviews I read before buying this mentioned problems with the hose or leaking issues. Here’s how I have avoided these issues:1) Store it with the hose attached but NOT wrapped around the machine body. (See photos)2) Don’t store it with water or chemicals in the reservoirs. Use or dump out any remaining liquids, and open the little lid to the dirty water tank (after rinsing it out well) so it can dry out. If you leave dirty water in there, it will be very hard to clean out later. So just store it clean and dry, and you’ll be fine!3) Make sure to use the right cleaning chemical! Some cleansers are for the big upright machines NOT for these little guys. Read the label to be sure! And don’t use dish soap. Just don’t.I haven’t had any of these problems with mine. I tried a little dish soap once when my toddler got ahold of a spray can of some manner of under-car tarry stuff my husband had left around. Never again! Such a sudsy bubbly mess!!! This little machine got the tarry-mess out of the carpet, but cleaning up the soapy-mess took forever!Pros:*Set it, and forget it (***no hands & knees scrubbing!!***)*Works great for small spacesCons:*Only does one 7” circle of carpet at a time (think crop circles 😉👍)*To really get the liquid up, you need to use the hose and hand tool after the scrubber cycle is done.*Must use proprietary cleaning chemicals, and they’re not cheap*Noisy, but not louder than any other wet/dry vac.*Hose not removable for cleaningDespite the cons, I am still 100% satisfied (5 stars) with how this little machine works for home use. I don’t even have to put on gloves when there’s a mess to clean up!The only thing I think could improve it is if Bissell made the hose removable/replaceable. It gets dirty inside the hose, especially if you have pet hair around, and there’s no way to get in there to clean it out. Non-serviceable/replaceable parts makes it 4 stars for me. I would happily buy a new hose if it were an option!Recommended for home use, with kids and/or 1-2 pets who have accidents. It only cleans a small circle of carpet at a time, so If you need large areas or rooms cleaned and frequently, or have many pets, you’d be better off with a larger upright shampooer, renting a commercial machine, or hiring a company.
