Prescribed by orthopedic professionals nationwide this may be one of the most comfortable back supports you will ever wear. The elastic is made to allow the skin to breath reducing moisture and heat build-up. The 10" back panel tapers to six inches in the front and is fastened with Velcro closures. The dual closure straps support the back while lifting the abdomen. Four stays are sewn on to help maintain the shape of the brace while adding lumbar support. Low profile makes it less noticeable under your clothes. LATEX FREE ELASTIC. MADE IN THE USA.

I'm 69 years old and have been fat all my life. I've had lower back pain and weakness for several years and my doctor says it's only because I'm carrying an extra 75lbs on my belly which pulls me forward off the natural alignment of my body. He says there is nothing that can be done and I have to live with it. This year it has become worse. Mowing the lawn has been an agonizing experience and I've done little other activity. Shopping in stores and walking anywhere has been almost absent from my life. I purchased a new mattress this last week in hopes that will help. It hasn't been delivered yet so the benefit of the $1400 expenditure is out for now. I found this back brace online at Amazon.com which is large enough...XXXL...to fit me. I'd been convinced I'd never find one big enough! It was delivered a couple of hours ago. I put it on and it's like getting out of jail! It's marvelous! My back isn't weak and doesn't hurt. For now, anyway, I'm sold! Can't wait until tomorrow, in the cool of early morning, to go out to mow the lawn. With the weakness gone I'm sure it will be a pleasure again. I've always loved yard work! By the way, it's August here in Idaho and HOT, HOT, HOT...nearly 100 degrees every day. I have a sweating problem and was concerned about the belt being too hot. I've had it on for two hours and there is no problem yet. I'll see when I get more active mowing the lawn tomorrow! If you're built like me and have a weak/sore lower back, check this out. 9/3/13 I've been wearing this for several weeks and am still sold. My legs are still weak when I mow the lawn but my lower back is supported and braced so I feel secure. I bought a second one just to have if the first one is dirty and needs laundering. My new bed helps too even though I'd been skeptical about the expense of changing. A recent MRI shows me to have several bad discs which will need treatment. This brace and the new bed surely help!

Did not like it at all. Based on their measurement XXL fits up to 50". I bought XXXL, my measurement is 49", it is too tight. Maybe if you are flat as a board, this will fit you, I have hips. Rubber is too tough, cuts in to me skin. After wearing it for 5 minutes, I took it off. It is going for donation.

I ordered this brace because I like to walk and do strength exercises but sometimes my lower back and hips really gets sore. My husband suggested that I get a brace for better support especially when lifting weights. So I bought this on his suggestion. It really works! I am able to move and exercise for longer periods and I also noticed that I am not as sore after exercise as I was before because of the extra support from this brace. The really cool thing about this brace is that it is so adjustable. When at home, you can wear it on top of your clothing. But when exercising outside, you can wear it very well under your clothing...and it does not show.. There are several different sizes for you to choose, but I got the large size so that I can adjust it over clothing (including winter clothing) too. I highly recommend this brace for support of back and hips during exercise.

Judging by other reviews, the Alpha Brace seems to work for some people - but not for me. The material is highly abrasive - requiring it to be worn over clothing - and for those of us who pack too much weight around, the brace doesn't provide proper adjustments and, after wearing it for a while, it eventually gets all out of kilter in front - it kind of rolls over onto itself. The Mueller brace works perfectly for me - and it is a "one size fits all."
