I bought this desk because I wanted to move my computer from the basement to the first floor, but the desk it was on is made from heavy wood. So I needed a desk for a small for my den. This desk is perfect for the space and the fold out desk is extremely handy.
Now for the reason this is getting a bad review is the installation part. There is one area of the instruction book that doesn't say it (only in pictures which doesn't help). When you are setting up the top most part of the desk, there is a small pipe part that has 2 screws. They don't seem to line up correctly at first. You have to spin the small pipe until the screws match up. It took me a moment to realize it, but I do believe this is where everyone is getting stuck or using their drill.
So besides for that slight confusion, this desk is sturdy, holds my dual monitors well, and is a great desk for the value.
I hope this review helped anyone who is on the fence and helps you remember about that one part in the installation.

2022 update: I did buy a second one. We use them daily and they have been moved all over our house. They are holding up great! I would recommend it. 2020:Great little desk. There was 1 mismatched hole in the desktop (which didn't impact the integrity of it at all) and 1 screw that the hex head was cut wrong and mildly broken. Had 2 screws that required a 5/32 wrench instead of the 4mm that comes with it because the heads are not machined well in the screws. The threads were great and they are plenty strong. The "L" part is a bit wobbly when extended but only while actively moving it. Plenty strong to hold whatever. I couldn't have asked for better quality or more versatility. I'd buy a second one. I'd give it 4.6 stars...only due to the lack of quality control in the hardware.
