32 oz. Hummingbird Flower Feeder

Made in USA

First Nature’s 32 oz. Hummingbird Flower Feeder’s red base with attractive yellow flowers really draws the birds and the yellow flowers discourage bees and wasps from entering the feeder. The perch provides the perfect position for birds to comfortably feed at any of the ten ports. The wide-mouth fluted reservoir is easy to fill and easy to clean. The two-part base twists apart for thorough cleaning. All parts may be washed in warm soapy water. (Do not put any parts of this feeder in a dishwasher.) We recommend you use First Nature’s Hummingbird Nectar Concentrate which you can easily mix right in the reservoir.

127 customers mention78 positive49 negative

Customers are mixed about the leakage of the wildlife feeder. Some mention it doesn't leak, drip, or spill when they turn it over for hanging. However, others say that it doesn’t seal and water leaks or runs out. The feeding holes only fit the hummers' beaks, and the plastic is very cheap. It constantly drips and spills all over the place.

"...This is the first feeder I have had that truly doesn't drip or leak when turning it all right-side up for hanging after filling...." Read more

"...Easy to disassemble, fill, clean, etc. Minus two stars for the eventual leaking. Not too thrilled with that, tbh...." Read more

"...It does not drip so I can use it on the porch were it can be monitored closer. It is the easiest to open and clean that I have ever used...." Read more

103 customers mention36 positive67 negative

Customers are mixed about the material of the wildlife feeder. Some mention that it is made entirely of plastic, which is easier to clean. The shallow feeding platform is made of something like hard silicone, and is very sturdy. However, others say that it's only made of plastic and will only last between 5 and 8 years due to the thin material. The reservoir is not a hard plastic, so let your nectar cool before using it. The hanger is also made of thin plastic and is too flimsy.

"...The plastic is thin and probably won't last very long...." Read more

"...Shallow feeding platform is made of something like hard silicone in that it is very sturdy to grip to take apart for easy cleaning, but doesn't..." Read more

"It is certainly not the cheapest but I did not need to return it so I am happy with it. It appears well made and was quite easy to assemble...." Read more

"...birds it would bring and am not fond of the fact that it only comes with a chessy plastic "hook" that doesnt even hook onto anything, hence..." Read more

86 customers mention46 positive40 negative

Customers are mixed about the ant protection of the wildlife feeder. Some mention that it keeps ants away and almost all other insects out. However, others say that it eventually attracted bees and did not exclude bee or earwigs.

"...From the top down, well designed. Built-in ant guard (moat) so far has worked all summer. Chickadees? Their own private hydration station...." Read more

"...As with many feeders, this one eventually attracted bees...." Read more

"...So far no flying bugs have gotten into it. It has been busy with bird traffic since they arrived...." Read more

"...The "bee guards" were not keeping the bees out. Read the reviews on this product and followed the advice of removing the little yellow flowers...." Read more

Easy to Clean. Hummingbirds (and Chickadees) Like It!

Easy to Clean. Hummingbirds (and Chickadees) Like It!
Yes! Will purchase another unit, and maybe even a couple of presents. From the top down, well designed. Built-in ant guard (moat) so far has worked all summer. Chickadees? Their own private hydration station. They perch on the edge of the moat for a quick drink before the hummingbird in charge chases them off!Made in the USA. (Not dishwasher safe.) Completely disassembles although a firm twisting pressure is required to separate the base but it gets easier each time. Every other day during the hottest of summer, I remove the bottle and hold a running garden hose into the middle of the base forcing water through and out of all nectar holes. If water does not shoot out the hole(s), then the culprit was a yellow jacket wasp that got stuck despite the bee guard. What's really nice, the bee guards snap off to remove the stuck insect :-(Once a week complete disassembly and cleaning with an old toothbrush has kept it in excellent condition all summer. Some online forums indicate not to use any type of soap because the hummingbirds can taste it. So far though toothbrush and running water have kept it clean. The capacity of the nectar bottle is huge! More than my ‘small family’ needs. It appears I have only two or three hummingbirds this year and they don't drink that much each day so the process has been to only fill about a half inch. The feeder is hung in partial shade, next to some native wildflowers like bee balm, zinnias, and trumpet vine - at least they get a variety!I use a homemade mixture of half a cup of sugar to 2 cups of water in a mason canning jar stored in the refrigerator throughout the week. I find with the clear liquid it is easy to tell when it gets cloudy in order to replace it, something not possible using the store-bought red-colored mixes.Compared to other feeders in the past, this certainly has been the easiest to clean and maintain. It would be nice if the nectar bottle was glass, thinking that with time the plastic would (will) cloud up making it more difficult to tell when it's time to replace the nectar. Will update during the second year of use if there are any changes. It would also be nice if a couple extra yellow bee guards were included, since the first time washing one almost went down the kitchen sink! All cleaning is done outdoors from that point on! Used a fingernail under each side of the bee guard to pull straight up to avoid cracking. The product is a good value and will be a great first feeder for individuals. I will get a second one next year.
