Overview
Help maintain and protect your pet's joint health with Easy Step Pet Stairs.
The innovative incline of each step reduces the amount of stairs needed to climb eliminating stress on your pet.
Pets that constantly jump off sofas, beds, and other furniture can place unnecessary strain on the joints which could potentially lead to arthritis. As with any steps some dogs may need training.
Why use a pet stair or ramp?
Pet stairs and ramps help your pet safely get to hard to reach places- and back down from them! Pet Gear pet stairs feature wide, deep steps that give smaller dogs the ability to get their entire body on each platform and offer more stability for large dogs to comfortably climb the stairs. The innovative incline of each step reduces the number of stairs your pet needs to climb, eliminating stress on your pet.
Can the stairs be cleaned?
All of Pet Gear's stairs come with either a removable carpet tread or cover that removes quickly and is machine washable.
How difficult to assemble?
All of Pet Gear's stairs snap together easily- no tools required.

She would have none of that because she is the queen and gets to go where she wants, when she wants.
Now, she was smart enough that she wouldn't jump up. Instead she would bark at us until we picked her up and set her beside us. The problem, though, was that she would jump down if we weren't giving her royal highness her due belly rubs and ear scritches, and even if she hadn't had a hurt back, she's at that age where it's bad for her little knees and hips, too. So we had to try to predict when she would want down and set her down in advance, which we were able to do 95% of the time, but it only takes one bad landing for things to go south.
We got this ramp with hopes that the Queen Floof would use this instead of leaping off furniture. We got one for the couch and one for a chair in another room that she has designated as her own.
It took her a couple days to trust the ramps, but now she goes up and down them without issue! Her back is healed up, she can sit on her throne at her leisure without barking for her humble servants to pick her up, and our stomachs don't lurch when she gets down unexpectedly.
The ramps are fantastic too. They're lightweight, but sturdy, and easy to put together and move. I have stubbed my toes on the ramps a few times, but it's a small price to pay to see my adorable Queen Floof happy and healthy.
I think the ramp model is better for cats whereas dogs usually prefer steps to rest on.
However, the plastic mat material is easily shredded/chewed on and can cause kitty's claws to get stuck.
I plan on getting a cheap runner rug/carpet (something like this but a more neutral style as my cat does not like flashy designs: https://www.amazon.com/Dollar-Runner-Living-Bedroom-Outdoor/dp/B08TRHYWL2/), attaching velcro strips on the back and rolling the ends around the back bottom support bar and further securing them with binder clips and/or more velcro for stability.
The ramp inside is hollow which is great for storing bags of cat litter or other supplies.
Decent ramp for senior pets but I do wish the mat material was made of something else. Thankfully it's removable so this is modifiable as needed.
At first they weren’t so sure, and to be honest, I wasn’t too sure myself, we are all creatures of habit. Upon arrival I realized the material wasn’t carpet like the stairs, but a rubbery surface, also attached with velcro. I was afraid about the durability but also that it would come off easily when the dogs climbed it, since it’s a slanted ramp. Well so far so good, the doggies took to it quickly and it seems easy for them. Seems like cleaning will be easy but I’m not there yet. Assembly was piece of cake, and it’s just as sturdy as the steps of the same brand, which we love. PetGear makes great quality products and so far I’m impressed. I have owned other cheap steps before and they don’t compare to PetGears steps and ramps. Not only are they functional but they go great with the furniture and look brand new, even years later.
Most of them need assistance getting up on and down from my bed, thus the need for the stairs. However, because of the paralyzed pup I went in search of a ramp and bought this one. Most of them have become adjusted to the ramp including 2 who refused to use the stairs. My paralyzed pup slides down the ramp with no problem.
It was very easy to assemble and quite sturdy. The pad/carpet on the ramp is NOT slippery and the dogs go up and down with ease. Definitely worth the price paid and looks like it will last for years!

He started having hip issues at the age of about 3 (he's almost 7 now). They X-Ray's showed he potentially has degenerate bone disease. He's been doing well but I can no longer play fetch with him due the pain he gets after... of course he would still go and go if I threw it. It used to be his favorite thing to do. Slow walks now.
So I've been using this for about ... 2 years now? I got it during Covid at some point. The qulity in TOP NOTCH!!! I thought the material on the ramp would tear off, but it's been super sturdy and hasn't come off at all. The assembly is SUPER SIMPLE... pieces pop together like LEGO's. This also makes is VERY easy to dissassemble I imagine (note I haven't taken it apart yet, but it just pops in and out)...so if you need to put it in the car for a trip that should be helpful to know.
The only negative for me was that there is the tiny step up at the base. As I mentioned, my dog is very skittish to things like this. It took quite a while of trying for him to get used to it, but it's no problem now. The problem was he couldn't seem to figure out if he had to jump onto the ramp and had some awkward moments the first few tries. Now he just runs up and down it.
I think it would be better if the step-up at the start of the ramp was no higher than in inch (2 at most)...or no rise at all. He loves his sleeping area on the couch, so to train him at first I blocked off the rest of the couch so he couldn't jump up (the jumping was an issue for his hips). I coaxed him up with treats too. Now he even uses it to do a Yoga stretch on his way down haha.
I took a picture of the ramp against a futon my dog often lazes around on (that's Toby).
