Why I love this mixer is becuase it has an LED timer on the top to let you know how long you have been mixing, beating, etc. That is soooo helpful!!! It comes with several attachments....whisk, beaters and bread dough hooks. The only complaint I have is that there is no container to keep the attachments in. it would be nice if Breville had included a bag or something to keep them all together. Other than that I find that this hand mixer does an excellent job...easy to operate and has a nice design. It is also helpful that it "sits" on a flat end so it won't fall over.

Bought new from Amazon. Worked ok for less than a year. Nice mixer, not as much power and torque as expected. Electronics stopped working properly. When the high speed was pressed it would only work sporadically. Same thing started happening with regular speed functions. Progressively got worse and worse till became unreliable. Called Breville and was told it was passed warranty period. Offered to sell me one with 20% discount from them. A bit of an insult as you can by it even cheaper than that on Amazon. Am now looking for a better option.
*Update Oct 2016: I took the blender apart and found a wire shorting out on a control panel due to a poor soldering job at the factory. A simple fix if you have the tools. Since then it has been going strong with no problems. Very good mixer. I really like having the "Burst" option to go from the lowest setting to the highest. That's pretty much the two speeds we use 99% of the time. Losing one star because this should have been a non issue for this brand and price point.

I have only had this mixer a few months and it no longer works. I think it has a short inside since it quits while it is mixing and smells like it is burning. Of course the first time it happened it was after the Amazon return period. I thought it was a fluke; then it happened again. It was not inexpensive either and I have had the Breville toaster oven for quite a while and love it so depended on the brand name being a good buy. Wrong! Also, the beaters were almost impossible for me to eject. My husband had to be on hand to do it. Very disappointed.

I thought I would like this hand mixer when I took it out of the package: it feels nice in the hand, the stainless steel finish looks high-quality, and it was pretty lightweight. Then I started using it, and I do NOT like it at all! The thing I like least is that there's no slow-start option; it is either ON or OFF. I first used it to mix cupcake batter, and the dry mix flew out of the bowl when I turned the mixer on at the lowest speed! And it is so noisy! I am hugely disappointed. I wish I had tried it right away after I bought it so I could return it. I've used it three times and I won't use it again. It is back in the box and a new hand mixer (I ordered a KitchenAid) is on its way.

I purchased this almost a month ago. I have never had good luck with hand mixers so this time I wanted to really purchase a quality product. I own a heavy duty stand mixer and I needed a smaller hand mixer to stand up to the demands of a family of eight. I bought this based on a review left by a professional chef. I used this mixer to make my Thanksgiving meal, mixed enough cookie dough to make 15 dozen cookies as well as several batches of bread dough. I have been thoroughly pleased. The starting speed has never splattered flour or wet ingredients. The speed increments are very slight and steady. The timer is very handy. The beaters/dough hooks are VERY sturdy. At first the ejection button was stiff but after a few uses it ejects without any problem. I do not care however for the cord not having a tie on it to stow it away neatly, but I just use a rubberband. Overall Im very happy with how this mixer performs. I also love how it looks.

This is a pretty nice little mixer. Unlike the one I had before, it doesn't smell like it will catch fire when mixing heavy stuff. The digital timer is nice. It doesn't tip over when sitting on the counter (like in the product photo). The construction is pretty solid all around. Not a professional grade mixer, but an excellent one for me.

My only complaint so far is that the 'turbo' button is easy to hit on accident. The designers should have put that button in a better place or made it harder to push. I've had a few exciting moments using this product where food went flying at high velocity when my palm pushed the 'turbo' button on accident.

So I ordered this product through the Amazon Warehouse as it was saying it was in like new condition. When I got it though, it was dirty (still dough on the mixer itself, which should have been my first clue), but I didn't actually test it out. When I first went to use it 6 weeks or so later, the motor seemed to be going out. Overheating, burning smell, motor going in and out before stopping completely (it did come back on 15-20 min later before going out again), most likely the reason it was returned in the first place. At this point, it was outside of Amazon's return policy and I figure I'm just out of luck. *Mental Note: Always be sure to check everything as soon as it arrives* For some reason, I put it back in the cabinet instead of tossing it out. Fast forward another six weeks or so and I pull it out again, hoping I could get enough time out of it to make some cookies. Nope.

I really don't want to throw it away and have to buy another one since that just seems wasteful and as overall this had great reviews. I start wondering if I can get it repaired. It is fairly late at night at this point so I send an email to them, completely upfront about purchasing it used, asking if I can send it in to be repaired. After a couple emails back and forth and providing lot number, receipt, etc., I hear back saying they will it under warranty and sent me a free shipping label to return my current one and they are sending me a brand new one in return! Score!

While I've never dealt with their customer service before, this completely painless experience that far exceeded my expectations is definitely making me a lifelong customer. I've had great luck with my other Breville products and am sure that will be the case with my new mixer!

My wife had a similar type of unit in Europe but was unhappy to find that this style of system (hand blender with dough hooks) is not common in North America. This is the best one she has ever owned. Loves it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Beater arrived broken!
Reviewed in Canada on December 13, 2013
I was really looking forward to using this mixer, the reviews were really reassuring, but as soon as I pulled it out of the box I saw that one of the wire fins on the beater had broken out of the base! So disappointing, and now wondering how to remedy this so I can use it...Not what I'd expected, needless to say. The mixer itself looks really good and professional -I only wish I could use it with the beaters!
