I wanted to use and electric razor. I didn't like the way most foils (older models) worked against my head and they seemed to miss a lot being more made for the face. I ended up using the norelco 3 headed models but they took a very long time.
I've only used this once with about 4 days growth. It took under 10 minutes to a clean shaven head with the balding attachment. While it could be used on a persons face as well I didn't feel it was working very well on my face. I felt the 3 headed norelco's worked better for this.
The clipper worked well also. I tried it first to see how close it would shave. It took my down to a days growth stubble in the area's I tried. As good as any wald but was easier to use on my head with the adjust-ability. If I had hair this would be the ultimate product.
As it is I'm very impressed with the speed of this product and the way the foil adjusts its angle of my head and is sort of spring loaded foil. Best balding shaver I have used for my head. Defiantly faster than what I had been doing and took about the same amount of time a razor would have.
I hope this helps others like me.
I recommend it for guys looking to go bald with an electrical option as I have been looking for!
On the other hand, the battery life is enough for at least three hair cuts without being recharged. The clipper is light enough and ergonomically fits in the palm. I like the charge indicator as well.
Good clipper in overall, but can be better.
I opened this the moment I received it and used it without reading the long manual. Package come as described, a bag, a long clipper, a short clipper, a shaver, a power cable for US plugs, a small brush.
I started with the long clipper and immediately I knew it wont work for me. The short clipper did. Was doing fine with short clipper at step 3. But was curious on step 0/1 (0.3mm) and tried on my head. Opps, only realised after you clipped a part of your head you need to do the whole head again!
The rotational head wasnt much of a feature but did help when i used my left hand. Guess that is the feature we all need.
I feel the build quality is pretty good, nice weight and rubberised grib for water proofing.
Over all great product. I managed to clip my hair in ten minutes by myself. Another 5 minutes with the vacuum cleaner to clean up the hair. I did not try wet washing the clipper but just brushed off the hair.
I tried the clipper on my beard with the same shaver, but it doesnt work well on my soft loose beard.

I shave my head with corded clippers to 0.5mm already and was happy to see this take everything off in about 10min.
my friend had a QC5540 from 2013 and he was very happy with it, that model only goes to 0.3mm
The QC5580 however shaves you 100% bald to the skin. It has a clipper adapter to do about 0.5mm and then has some hair cutting adapters that I don't really need.
Instructions told me to charge it for an hour and it would be ready to go. After 2 hours and 45 min it was still going but I just couldn't wait any longer.
as per the instructions and just to be safe I used the lowest clipper blades first. I had already shaved my head with my Braun Clippers the night before which take my hair down to 0.5mm.
The lowest setting with the Norelco QC5580 clipper was almost identical, I was getting teeny bits of hair off with The Norelco clippers which surprised me- so it's like 0.4mm or something.
I decided to get right to the balder, the spring loaded heads were easy to pop off and on again and the balder head piece looks like an electric razer.
Shaving my head was fairly easy but a bit tedious and time consuming. Considering this is a cordless razor that's to be expected. It took several slow passes over each area of my scalp, making sure to apply just a little pressure. Each time I went over an area it would first take it down to stubble then clear out patches bit by bit until the area was clean.
I actually didn't use a second mirror. after the first pass on my scalp I found just gliding your hand over your scalp ahead of the razor worked really well and it was 2 passes and touch and the hard to get spots and I was done.
About ten minutes after I started I was done. My head was gleaming from the light in the bathroom- clean as a baby's bottom.
I had had to stop and clean out the razors twice as they were getting clogged, but I Just opening it up and tapped the bit on the sink and most of the loose clippings fell away.
It was a hard ten minutes on the razor and my hair tends to be fairly thick (except on the top) I was worried the battery was dying as I was finishing, but they say you can just plug it in and finish as its charging.
I did it again about 4 days later. Clippered it first in 2 minutes, then locked in the balder and off I went, in about 10 minutes again my head is as innocent and hairless as the day I was born. It's getting easier already and I got bored and tried it on my face; works like any $60 electric shaver would I suppose with a few passes.
and 2 head shaves, a face shave and 2 clipper pre-cuts and still going strong on the first charge!
I tossed few photos up- ones with the 0.5mm clipper and the other at zero, I tried to leave a square of 0.5mm for comparison but you can see how that worked out.
