I have had these boots for about 10 months now and have put together my below thoughts. My use for these boots:I work primarily in an office setting, but wear safety toe boots every weekday because I need them for visiting job sites and other areas for work where safety toe boots are required. I also wear these boots whenever I am tinkering around the house, or upfield hunting. My Initial thoughts:I had to buy a $15 pair of inserts about 2-4 weeks after buying them because they were that uncomfortable for myself without them. To be fair, I have wore Irish setter boots in the past, and after about 6-8 months I usually need the inserts for them as well, but with these Carhartt boots, it was almost immediate. With the inserts, the boots are fairly comfortable and I have no issue walking in them all day. The composite toe does feel like it is starting to dig into my toes slightly, but it is not painful or too uncomfortable at this point. I am sure if I were to wear these for another 6 months, it would get worse. My thoughts on the boots quality. The bottom of the boots are holding up really well. No punctures/holes, and the wear is very minimal - again keeping in mind that I wear these 75% of the time in an office setting - so that is to be somewhat expected. The laces are honestly garbage in my experience. They have broke on me in a few spots and I should have replaced them right away, but I just never did.The composite toe works definitely works. I had a large piece of plate steel fall onto the end of my boot and experienced no pain. The boot is separating slightly at the toe portion. I believe it is called the 'welt' (not 100% sure). It is not a stitched connection, so I was not surprised when I saw start to come apart at about 4 months. The sides of these boots are pretty thin. I have not experienced any holes in the sides, but if something sharp were to hit the sides of these boots where my toes were, I don't think it would have much trouble stabbing through the leather. My closing thoughts. At about 10 months, these boots are still kicking for me. I am going to buy some new laces (should cost about $10-$15) to extend the life of these boots by hopefully a few more months. If you are looking for a less expensive pair of boots like these, I think these are a decent option IF you have your expectations set correctly and you make a few modification right away.I would recommend buying a boot insert and new laces right away. So be prepared to spend about $25-$30 right off the bat.As far as expectations go, realize you are not buying the comfiest/best boots out there, but know that these are not going to fall apart on you right away and they won't kill your feet if you get an insert. I would imagine these boots would last someone in the trades 6 months to a year, and someone in my position 1 year - 1.5 years (with the modifications I suggested). For $125 ($155 w/ my recommended additions) these boots are just fine.

I’ve worn these boots, working as a arborist, a landscaper, a carpenter, and an electrician. Since October 2021 (18months). I have replaced the laces on them, replaced the insoles twice, and greased them once.

These boots held up well under consistently harsh conditions. Boots typically last for a year and these exceeded my 1 year expectations. The toes have held up well, and the outsoles have hardly worn. The leather has creased and started to tear just below the laces, and the rubber around the heel tore on just one boot. Also notable damage was on the right foot toe, where the leather tore away from the outsole. These boots held up well, and have outlived their usefulness.

If I had grease the boots more often, i may have slowed the leather tears, but the rubber heel tear was unavoidable. Good for walking through forests, not good for standing on hard surfaces.

I have had these boots for almost 6 months now and they are still in great shape. I am Food Service Technician, so I don’t go easy on boots. Boots I’ve had in the past were in terrible shape at this point. The fitment is perfect, I ordered them with box toe and wide and they fit the shape of my feet. Arch support is spot on and feet and lower back feel good all day. The non-slip has prevented a lot of falls since I work on slippery floors more often than not. Boot feels light since it is composite toe. 10/10 would recommend if your are looking for durable, affordable boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great boots, recommended.

These are great boots, they are light and stylish. I use a lot of Carhartt products for their quality, style and usefulness in my career. The synthetic toe makes it through nuclear grade detectors and provide good protection. These boots are ASTM F2413-18 labelled and qualified. This superseded ANSI basic boot requirements for job sites in 2018. These do not have the green label, however these meet the ANSI/ASTM requirements for safe work boots. The laces of these boots seem to have a metallic compound used to provide rigged, durable laces. I recommend these boots to meet any purpose you could require.

The padding on the inside ankle edge of the tongue needs to be thicker, it should fit with the overlapping external lace edges to create a smooth continuous form to avoid pressure points (where the reinforced sticking occurs)... which is what's happening now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice
Reviewed in Canada on March 7, 2019
Size: 10.5 WideColor: Brown Oil Tanned LeatherVerified Purchase
I've been wearing these for 3 weeks now and they're very nice. They're comfortable and didnt need much breaking in, they fit exactly as expected. I'm normally a size 10.5 but usually buy 11s when buying online. 11s were out of stock so I risked buying the 10.5's.... a perfect fit!

They werent all that expensive, considering they were carhartts, so I was worried about the quality... but upon receiving them, I looked them over, and the stitching is nice, and the leather is thick. They should last quite a while.

They are ANSI approved, but not CSA, but most job sites would overlook this because they're essentially the same thing. If it meets ANSI standards, it meets CSA standards.
