Customers are dissatisfied with the leaking of the timer. They mention that one of the battery compartments leaked and the batteries rusted or corroded. The battery cover allowed rain water to leak in and shorted the unit out. The water even comes out under the seal. The valve inside stopped completely opening and the water gushed from just under the fitting. No amount of tightening will remedy this.

"No clock. I assume it starts the timer when you set the frequency. Works fine for 2 weeks so far." Read more

Programming -- One dial turns for MANUAL START minutes or RAIN DELAY hours. Second dial turns to set NUMBER of CYCLES within a 24 hour period -- NO CLOCK -- so your 24 hour period begins whenever you turn this dial. If that's at 2:22 pm and you've chosen 2 cycles every 24 hours, you'll get watering at 2:22 am and 2:22 pm. The third dial turns to set NUMBER of MINUTES each cycle will run.
Installation -- Slide 2 AA batteries into the tray, screw the unit onto your hose bibb, set a dial or two, turn on the water, and you're done. I appreciated that there was no spray or leaking at the attachment points.
The Manual Start feature can be used during installation to test sprinkler reach and coverage area.
BE AWARE that this unit reduced water pressure noticeably. I recommend installing it BEFORE placing and adjusting sprinklers. If you do this afterwards as I did, you may need to start sprinkler set up over due to reduced water pressure and its impact. With our faucet on full blast, there was only enough pressure to run two pulsating sprinkler heads. Distance was reduced by 2-3 feet and rotation speed went down as well compared to performance before the RainDrip timer was installed. This was the case even though we regularly run 4-6 rotator/spray heads per zone with our irrigation system.
I'd buy this again if I only needed a sprinkler or two.
exterior holds up in this location.
one battery change in 10 months.
the cycle change delay of 24 hours does require your preparing early to confirm proper
operation ( for us obsessive-compulsive plant lovers)
Picture this: I had dreams of a lush, vibrant garden with plants that would make Mother Nature herself jealous. I thought the Raindrip timer would be my secret gardening weapon. But oh boy, was I in for a surprise! This timer has more drama than a telenovela!
First off, the 3-dial setup is like trying to decipher a secret code from an alien civilization. It's as if NASA engineers designed it for intergalactic plant-watering missions, and I'm just here trying to water my tomatoes. I had to consult YouTube tutorials that were longer than my garden hose!
But the real spectacle begins when you set the timer. It's like a Broadway performance of confusion and chaos. You turn one dial, and water shoots out like a geyser. You turn another, and it's a drought. And then there's the rain delay function—it's more unpredictable than a weatherman's forecast during a tornado!
This timer is so analog that it's practically a time machine to the 1980s. I half expected it to start playing "Walk Like an Egyptian" while watering my begonias. 🕺🌼
And let's talk about the "self-watering" feature. If by "self-watering," they mean "requires a degree in hydrology to set up," then sure, it's self-watering! It's like a puzzle where the pieces are missing, and you're left with a garden that looks like a modern art experiment gone horribly wrong.
In conclusion, the Raindrip R675CT Analog 3-Dial Water, Sprinkler Timer is a gardening adventure you won't soon forget. If you're in the mood for a challenge and want your garden to look like a botanic rollercoaster, this timer is your ticket to horticultural havoc. Future generations of gardeners will gather 'round to hear the legend of the sprinkler timer that turned a garden into a waterlogged soap opera! 🌱🎭💧

1. You can set it a one-shot duration watering - in preset minute values,
2. you can set repeat preset minute - interval watering periods. I used mode 1 for an initial watering of new grass seed. I used the second mode for ongoing repeat interval watering; 5 minutes each hour.
It was great so, I bought a second timer and a brass hose splitter valve for my single facet.
This enabled me to plant my second patch of grass seed and automate the watering!
Awesome!
