This just came today, so haven’t driven around with it, yet. I will say that it’s much more awkward to handle than the older Thule 4 bike rack that I’m replacing. It’s taller and the cups the bike sit in are more shallow. I can already tell that deeper cups would be better, but it’s not the end of the world. Not sure how a short person could manage to get their bike up on this rack. I have an Outback and it’s pretty high up there (higher than the Thule)-I’m 5’9”. I got this rack bc it’s significantly cheaper than Thule (my preference) and it has the zip straps rather than the rubber ones with holes that stretch over a tab. I found the older rubber straps on the Thule were becoming less trustworthy and the cups were sliding which meant the bike was sliding while I was on the highway, so I wanted insurance against anything popping off. My bike pump is in the way of the down tube support. So have to remove that for transport. I’ll have to strap the bike to the rack so it doesn’t swing during transport. All in all, seems like a solid rack, but with the zip straps that totally detach (they could get lost if you drop them) it feels like more work to get the bike on than the Thule, so not a fan of that, but I’m confident the bike will be safe and that’s really what’s important!
