An incredibly easy setup and powerful router!
    4 Stars
An incredibly easy setup and powerful router!
4 out of 5, for one reason...that might just get solved.I am very impressed with this product. Netgear just keeps getting better. If you can't figure out how to setup this repeater, then you simply need to hire people to do your tech stuff - period. When you start the router, you open up your wifi choices, pick the router, put "admin" and "password" into the username and password and a browser page will popup sort of like when you're at Starbucks or whevever. You'll start a very simple 4 to 6 step setup and it's just dumb easy!!! They've got 5 stars for all of that and the range. The range with the stock antennas is sufficient for most. I was installing a system that uses three of these along with Super Power Supply 3 x 9dBi 2.4GHz 5GHz Dual Band WiFi RP-SMA Antenna for Routers Asus RT-AC66U RT-N66U RT-N16 AC1750 D-Link DIR-655 DIR-665 N900 Buffalo WZR-HP-G450H Netgear Nighthawk R7000 Linksys 9 dbi antennas. I also used a MFJ 1800 2.4 GHz antenna which you see in the picture. The Router and the antennas worked very impressively, well over 1,000 ft. The DSL being used only has 2 mbs of bandwidth and the routers are pushing and pulling the entire 2 mbs without degradation. The downside and the reason for 4 stars: One of the routers is not as stable as I would like. I am going to flash the firmware and see if that helps. It simply stops working maybe once a day and needs rebooting. This will get annoying quickly, but again, I see a solution on the horizon. If not, I'll call support.
