From the manufacturer

Over the decades, Crock-Pot, the original slow cooker brand, has evolved from a single bean cooker into a diverse and extensive line of slow cookers and accessories that make meals and entertaining smarter, easier, and more convenient for the many different styles of cooking today. For busy families, Crock-Pot Slow Cookers offer a solution to healthier, more wholesome meals, while slow cookers designed for portability and entertaining provide new and different ways to enjoy slow cooking with the Crock-Pot brand.

Crock-Pot 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Stovetop-Safe Cooking Pot

Go from stovetop to slow cooker

Because many slow-cooker recipes require a two-step process, starting with browning or searing meat on the stovetop before slow cooking to seal in flavors, you often end up with more than one dirty pot to scrub clean. For the ultimate one-pot solution, the Crock-Pot brand designed a stovetop-safe pot that moves from stovetop to slow cooker in one smooth move.

  • Serves 6+ people
  • Ceramic-coated pot can be used for stovetop browning and then placed in the slow cooker
  • Digital timer counts down cooking time; program cooking time from 30 minutes to 20 hours
  • Removable, dishwasher-safe stoneware insert, and dishwasher-safe locking glass lid

Loving my new Crockpot!

Loving my new Crockpot!
I've had the same old Crockpot for decades and recently my lid broke so I was on the hunt for a new one. I figured it'd be a great time for an upgrade in features and this one is perfect! It's one of the more affordable ones on the market right now with all of the extras that it comes with. Not only can I set the time and heat level to whatever I want (2 hours on low or 10 hours on high, it's completely up to me!), but it automatically turns over to the warm setting once that time is up. That's great for the person who doesn't want to sit at home next to it to make sure it doesn't overcook your meal. If that's not reason enough to get it, there's also a great feature with the insert. You can brown meat on your stove top right inside the insert! I mean, come on! I know I generally skipped the browning of the meat step in any recipe because I didn't want to dirty another pan. The whole point of using a slow cooker is the one pot cooking and less dishes (at least for me lol). Compared to my old model the insert is waaay lighter. It's made of a different material to be able to do the stove top browning and honestly I think it's great. My old one was so heavy that I had a difficult time lifting it to dump the leftovers into a bowl (one handed while scraping the sides of course), this one I have no problem lifting because it's so much lighter. A perk I didn't realize I'd have until the box was delivered and I picked it up thinking I'd bought just the base and that the insert couldn't have possibly been in the box! But it was and I've made several delicious, fool proof meals since. If you're in the market for a new Crockpot or are looking to upgrade to one with features you might not have, I can't praise this one enough! I really love it and highly recommend it to others!

I love love love this cooker. It's oval and about as long as an average breadbox - see one of my photos. It really isn't heavy considering how well it's made.

It makes the crock pots we used to cook with seem like an open cook fire and a cast iron skillet. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But this little darlin' is the bomb!

You can remove the inner part to actually brown your meat on the stove top. Never lose juices that way. Then place it back in the lovely stainless cooker to start our meal. The removable part cleans like a cloud. It's so durable and non-stick!

I cook a pretty large roast in it and have plenty of room for veggies. I have cooked a whole bone in chicken in here too. It's oval design makes it better for large meats and bigger stews and chili servings.

Two cooking levels - low and high. It can also be set to keep things warm when they are done with the cooking process. Super for stuff that gets done cooking before you get home or when you are eating out of it for an afternoon of football or a party.

I can't recommend this cooker enough.

*comes with recipes inside the manual*. my prior crock pot insert was HEAVY. this one is nice and light and you can also use it on the stove top or grill when power is down. the three legs make for a wobble if your surface is slightly warped like mine. i am still waiting for the day that the lids come in something other than shattering glass because that is what happened to my first one. however, amazon replaced the order and i am very thankful. this is a simple unit with a high and a low setting. you set the time in 30 minute intervals until you reach the desired time to cook and then it counts down. once the time is up, the unit switches over to warm instead of completely off which is wonderful. so far, nothing has stuck to the pot so it has been easy to keep clean. if i ever had to choose a favorite crock pot, this one would be it (less the wobble)

WOW do I love this crock-pot!!!!!! I have been looking for over a year to find the right one. Whoever came up with the idea to have a stovestop safe cooking pot should get a big raise!!!! Loved that when I placed my roast in there it didn't splatter grease all over the place. The roast and the potatoes, onion & carrots seared up nicely. Was surprised that the pot is so light. The area under the crock pot does not get as hot as my last one. Love the look the cooker. Clean up is a snap. The only thing I don't like about it is the Select buttons. You have to get eye level with it to make sure the light is on the correct setting:( The lights are very small and not very bright at all. At one point my husband moved the crock pot and all the lights started flashing. Maybe it's just safety thing. The timer is nice and big & bright though. Very happy with my purcahse.

2.0 out of 5 stars This Product Should be RECALLED!
Reviewed in Canada on November 20, 2020
At first, I thought I must have received a lemon. Surely, the company would not have placed this product in the market place knowing that there was a severe flaw in the engineering of the product. After trying two of these products I found that they were exactly the same. There is a problem in the software of the electronics that the engineers or testers completely missed.

Be very careful if you have purchased this product and wish to keep it. I did extensive testing, using an ammeter, and determined that, should you decide to manually put the unit on the keep warm setting, you are in effect, placing it on the highest setting possible! That’s right! The only way this product will properly work on the keep warm setting, is if the timer is on and it reaches zero, or, you have the timer on and press the down arrow until the timer goes to zero. If you do not do that and just manually click through the buttons until you get to keep warm, without using the timer, the unit will be operating at full power! You will not only be keeping your food extremely warm, you are in effect cooking it on high heat! You will not know this without proper testing but I can assure you, you will know it once your food is over cooked, should you wish to leave it very long on this setting - unless, as I said, you bring it to the keep warm setting by exhausting the time on the timer.

If you are OK with that then go ahead and purchase this product. If not, beware of what you are getting and be forewarned.
