Walk, Jog, or Run: This Stroller is Perfect!

Walk, Jog, or Run: This Stroller is Perfect!
I can't say enough good things about the Thule Urban Glide. DISCLAIMER: The Thule is the only jogging stroller I've ever used, so I have nothing else to compare it to.The stroller handles marvelously! I live in NYC and I can maneuver around busy streets seamlessly. I prefer this stroller to both my standard and umbrella stroller. If if wasn't so large I'd take it everywhere. I wouldn't recommend this for walking around malls, but while it is wide, it's NOT heavy. Overall, super smooth ride, great with all terrain, feels effortless to push. Love the adjustable handle for me who's 5'2 and my husband who's 6'1. The storage unit is large and very secure. The canopy is great and provides excellent coverage. My little one loves it and the cushiony seat. This biggest question to ask yourself before buying this product is will you get use out of it: If you want a stroller for moving around wether it be on a walk, jog, or run this is the stroller to have. After the birth of my first child, I wanted an active lifestyle without being away from my baby. A jogging stroller was my investment over a gym membership. I was able to go on walks and jogs in the park with my little one in tow. She's 8 months now and always falls asleep in the stroller! One downside is that the accessories are not included and pricey. Despite that fact I have both the car seat adapter and rain cover and they are both made of superb quality. I used the rain cover during a terrible downpour and my baby was dry and blissfully asleep the entire time! It's well worth the price! MUST BUY! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This is an amazing running stroller. I have been doing triathlons for a little over 5 years and my wife and I just had our first child. The only way to maintain 15 hrs a week of running, biking, and swimming is to take the little guy with me sometimes. This stroller delivers everything. It is easy to put together (5 mins max), intuitive to collapse and stow, very small and light weight, and has the option of both locking the front wheel or allowing it to swivel. This option is nice because at slow speeds (10min/mile or slower) or just in using the stroller for everyday transport you can leave the wheel unlocked and it makes maneuvering the stroller very easy. On the other hand the locking wheel is a MUST for a serious runner. You probably shouldn't be running anything faster than 8min/mile without a locking wheel. There is a small adjustment knob for the locking wheel in case you find it drifts to either side. This wasn't quite as easy to work with and I found that it required a "practice run" to get it adjusted just right. I highly suggest taking this stroller out on a recovery day and getting used to it and making sure you're front wheel is adjusted perfectly when locked.
Finally compared with the BOB Revolution this stroller is slightly better (in my opinion) and cheaper. No other running stroller out there comes close to either the BOB or the Thule making the Thule a slightly better option due to cost.
The last comparison I would even consider making is the Thule glide to the Thule Urban Glide. The Thule Glide is basically the same with the major difference of having a fixed wheel (no swivel) which limits it to use as only a running stroller.
Overall I am highly satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this to ALL types of runners, joggers, or walkers.

I was torn between this stroller and the BOB Revolution - I chose this one after demo-ing both at REI for a really long time and then talking to other mom friends and getting their opinions. I see BOB strollers daily where I live and many mothers swear they get more than 5 years out of them, which is a lot compared to almost every other stroller on the market. If you're planning on putting a lot of miles on a stroller, go with quality. I can't say it's either better or worse than the BOB as they are both very similar, but I think it simply boils down to personal preference so I'll list why I chose this one over the BOB:

Aesthetics: I like the simple clean look and colors - All three colors offered feel classier to me. I got the black, but I prefer the sleek look, not so much the rugged camping tent look. Again, this is just a personal preference - some people like orange and green over red and teal. I also think the canopy on the BOB looks sorta droopy over time, like an old backpack. The material over-all is very durable on both, but I feel like the BOB is baggier and reminds me of an old pair of cargo shorts. The Thule stays taught-looking. Neither canopy is designed to be removed easily, so having the ability to fold back completely flat is nice. You can remove the Thule canopy with a phillips head screwdriver, not sure how to remove the BOB.

In addition to looking sleeker, there's far less mechanisms to adjust the stroller. The seat moves up and down with two straps instead of a moving bar or lever. This makes it lighter and by being simpler, means there's nothing to break or get bent.

Tires/Wheels: They both have the really nice bicycle tires that require being pumped up. The Thule tires were really easy to air up and keep their pressure. I know many people complain about the BOB tires being difficult to air up but this may just be human error. The wheels come off of both models I compared - very easy to do so, I might add. Both wheels come unlocked. I prefer the knob design on the Thule because it it's easy to unlock and can't slip around. Also has a pictogram of a little lock on it so you're not confused as to what position it's in. Very Swedish.

I WILL KEEP THIS REVIEW UPDATED AND ADD TO IT AS TIME GOES ON.

I researched a lot of strollers before purchasing this one. The main reason I selected this one over Britax, BoB, etc is the sun shade. I live in the south and enjoy spending time outdoors with my daughter and a full, large sun shade was necessary. This one is by far the largest and I am very pleased with how well it protects her. The angle of the seat is the same as similarly priced strollers, but has a harness that is way easier to adjust than others I reviewed. Its a very smooth ride, easy to steer with one hand, and I like that the handle can adjust so both myself and my tall husband can comfortably push her. The storage compartment was another selling point for me, as it is larger than most and also fully covered. That's a nice feature, especially in the sun. When I walk to the market to get something and we make a stop or two on our walk home, I feel better knowing the produce I just picked up isn't baking in the sun nor exposed to bugs and stuff. Its also nice to throw my purse in and zip up. I ordered the blue color and love it. It's true to the picture and very pretty looking. Overall the stroller is very high quality, sharp looking, easy to assemble, feels luxurious, and gets lots of compliments. The way it folds is pretty simple - once you do it a few times, it becomes second nature. Because of the size, I expected that I might have trouble lifting the stroller up to put in the trunk or getting it out - but I don't. If you can lift your 5 month old baby - this thing is easy to lift.

There are a few things you should know. It is a large stroller. That hasn't stopped me from taking it to the grocery store or anything like that, but if you have a very small car - it might be a tight fit. I know you can take the wheels off to help it fit in a small car, but I personally haven't tried that and don't know if I'd want to do that. It's supposed to be easy, but having to pop on the wheels and take them off every time you go somewhere, if you have a small vehicle, may not be your cup of tea. But, that's not a concern for me since we have an SUV and it fits easily in my trunk. The break on this stroller is, in my opinion, poorly thought out. It works great, don't get me wrong. It's easy to engage, but if you're trying to disengage the break and you have on sandals or heels or any kind of shoe, other than gym/running shoes, it hurts to use your foot. It's basically a metal rod bent in a "u" shape that you have to lift up with your foot to disengage. It's a sturdy break and a heavy metal. Since there's no padding, trying to lift it up with the top of your foot hurts. It left a bruise on my foot. So, you have to bend down and do it by hand. Not a huge deal and takes only a second, but it would be better if you didn't have to do that and they had thought about ergonomics of the break. Not a deal breaker though and certainly wouldn't stop me from purchasing this stroller again. The other thing is that there aren't any cup holders or anything like that. There is a small zippered pouch on the front of the larger, zippered compartment that easily holds keys, phone, wallet, and wipes. But, some people like to have them at the handle level - which this does not have. I believe you can buy accessories for it, but they aren't cheap. We bought the glide mesh cover, but haven't used it yet.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this stroller. It is the high quality and craftsmanship that you'd expect Thule to provide. It's definitely unique - I've never seen another mom have a Thule stroller, but I do get asked frequently where I got it. Especially, if the family bikes and is familiar with the Thule brand. My daughter loves it and we're both happy with the purchase. I know this is something I will get years and years of use from.

The stroller is very durable. We used it for 2.5years so far and nothing broke. It was a great investment. Just keep in mind that it is quite big. I can’t lift both baby and the stroller at the same time, but it’s great in winter, for outdoors and if you have a bigger car. What I was missing is the handle in front for the baby to hold on to. Other than this, it’s perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best jogging stroller on the market - it really is an excellent jogging stroller while still being practical!
Reviewed in Canada on October 13, 2017
Best jogging stroller we have found. Looked at all of them including the various BOB strollers. My wife and I liked this the best. This stroller is also very highly reviewed on BabyGearLab, so we were very pleased to find this on Amazon.ca. Excellent quality. Super great customer service from Amazon, too. Upon arrival, one of the wheels was a bit bent. Amazon sent us a brand new stroller so fast I couldn't believe it! We are very happy with our purchase. We have used and tested strollers by BOB, Burley, and Baby Jogger. While those are all good, this is the one we settled on. It is the best stroller out there in my opinion. We are very active outdoors and love to trail run, etc... This is a great stroller and easy to use. Love the locking front wheel for jogging. Folds rather compactly in comparison to many strollers, especially our Chariot, which we mainly have to use as a bike trailer and for xc skiing. This is an excellent example of what jogging strollers should be - light and well built with all the features you need and none you don't need. Well done, Thule!

This stroller is amazing. I purchased this as a replacement when an airline destroyed my other brand stroller. Assembles quickly and easily. Light and compact in the car. It rides so smooth. The shock absorbers are actually functional and helpful. My toddler asks to go for a walk daily now. The seatbelt straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. I can steer this stroller with a finger. Also we really love the adjustable handle. It fits both my husband and I for walking and jogging and that's been great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Quality and Longevity
Reviewed in Canada on November 13, 2018
I don't normally leave product reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case.
We own a 5+ year old Chariot CX1, which is excellent, I was expecting the same here - Not So!

- From new the plastic wheels were out of true with a noticeable wobble, one is particularly bad.

Around the 1 year mark:
- The strap that allows you to raise and lower the back came away from the frame. (Temp fix with a zip tie in the photo)
- One of the metal hoops in the sun shade/cover broke through the fabric and now protrudes within reach of my 1 year old. This is dangerous and has been removed - now the sunshade doesn't function correctly.
- The blue buttons on the wheels that allow the wheel to be removed keep falling off. Have now removed them so they don't get lost exposing the bolt heads.

We look after our belongings, including this stroller, and are severely disappointed. We had a Mountain Buggy Urban double for 4 years for our twins that performed flawlessly. This Thule product is absolutely appalling in design and construction. Look at a Bob or a Mountain Buggy or, quite frankly, anything else instead.

Our bike pump would not fill the tires and Thule Customer Service said we would have to take it to a bike shop because it took a different nozzle. Customer Service rep was very nice about it and it it is a great looking stroller but we were really hoping to use it. We live outside of the city and didn't realize that to use it we would have to take it to a shop. Kind of bummed about it.
