Being that it is quite heavy and could be a bit cumbersome in a smaller space. The rubber is quite firm on both sides, though one is obviously softer ( The "Orange" Side ) so be aware this may not be soft enough for some uses but if you are working with metal or polymers this should do well. Though the firmness may deter some people, softer and smaller mallets could compliment this in any tool box. However, this gets a five star for the simple value it offers.
Doesn't feel like it will break and has done exactly what it's designed to do with ease.

I am partially to blame for this confusion, but this item came up when I searched for a rubber mallet and, well, it looks like a rubber mallet and said it was one. So, I assumed it was a rubber mallet without further inquiry. Alas, it is not a rubber mallet. Rather, it is made of hard plastic that has some give to it. When I attempted to use it to hammer in a metal stake in the ground (as one might use a rubber mallet), a piece of it went flying off. A couple more taps and the thing was damaged beyond recognition. I've posted pictures so you can see the damage caused by only relatively light hammering. I can see how this would work well for hammering delicate items (as the description states) but I still think it's a bit odd that something so hammer-ish like doesn't withstand hammering. Keep looking if you desire a true rubber mallet for heavy tapping.

Super handy to have around for general use. I use it mostly for woodworking, but its also great for assembly and general tinkering. It doesn't leave a mark or damage the object you're working on unless you're really ignorant. So far the plastic end has held up pretty well after repeated banging. Seems to be better quality than the comparable Harbor Freight hammer.
The screw on ends are a little loose and won't tighten down to my satisfaction, and the Tekton sticker peeled off easily, leaving sticky residue, but for the price, you can't beat it. Great tool to have around the garage.
