Poor design and materials results in melted rubber on your clothes.
I’ll get right to the point. The rubber from rollers produce fine dust that get sucked up into the heating elements which in turn get blowen into the drum. I noticed this a few months after I bought it and called out a service tech, who said I had put something rubber in the dryer, and left me with a bill.When it started to squeal, I took the dryer apart and discovered that the rollers had worn down and there was a pile of rubber dust next to the air intake for the heating element chamber.I left an email and called speed queen but I guess I’m not that important to them.Anyway I went to my local appliance repair shop and showed him the rollers. The guy seemed to know exactly what I was talking about.I put in harder roller compounds, which seemed to help, but I still got dust. So I put my sheet metal skills to use and built a hood which draws air further forward in the dryer and further away from the rollers.P.s. had to repair the spot welds that hold the timer assy because the mounting bracket broke free. Not a “commercial” dryer by any stretch of the imagination.
