I was desperate for relief from my severe neck pain from an injury I got when I was a child. I have bought pillows that were triple this price and did nothing for me. I received this pillow in 24 hours (they are about an hour from where I live) and used it for the first time last night. The memory foam is amazing! You can feel you head and neck sink into the pillow, yet it is the perfect amount of support. The cooling gel is also amazing! I am the type of sleeper where, I have two fans on, my window open and the heater off even when it is 34 degrees outside and raining because I get so hot. This pillow kept me cool and comfortable. It wasn't so cold that it was uncomfortable but the type of cold you normally get when you flip any other pillow to the cool side. The curvature of this pillow helped support my neck and head but still allowed the memory foam to do it's job. To answer a lot of questions: yes it smells. It isn't horrible or something you cannot stand, but it is strong. I just grabbed two dryer sheets and put them under the pillow case and that was all I could smell last night. I fell asleep quickly and I had zero pain through the night and woke up refreshed and happy. I recommend this pillow to everyone, especially to those who have bad neck pain like I do.

Supports that natural curve in your neck!

I read the reviews, and it does have a chemical smell initially. Just air out the pillow and wash case the first 24 hours and should take care of it. As a chiropractor, I know the importance of maintaining that natural curve in the neck, as most of our daily activities seem to work against that curve. (texting, keyboarding, looking downward at work,
reading) This pillow is perfect! My trapezius muscle (top of shoulders) are more relaxed during day. The support is there, it's quite comfortable, and excellent for back and side sleepers. The cooling gel is an added bonus, although that was not on my checklist.

This pillow overall is great. It has great support, nice firm yet soft feel to it, and even contours as needed to support my head. But, there are two flaws that I found to be really frustrating. The first is the smell, they warn you about it and say it will go away in 1-2 days. That is NOT the case, I aired it out and after a week it still smells terrible. I will update after I wash it to see if that helps but so far it's pretty bad. Second, the cooling gel works great, until you've been laying on it all night. It eventually warms to the same temp as your head which gets warm.

I'd cautiously recommend this pillow. Just be ready for a smell that will take a while to go away, and a cooling gel that does at some point, get warm.

Comfortable, but............

COMFORT - 4 stars: With it's contour shape, it is probably the most comfortable pillow I've used. I'm an 80% side sleeper and 20% back sleeper. The shape has an edge that is perfect for side sleeping - the problem is that that edge is not supportive enough for back sleeping; the opposite edge is great for back sleeping, but waking/raising up enough to flip the pillow 180 degrees just to comfortably sleep on my back for a half hour and then flip it back again to roll back on my side just isn't going to happen.
COOLING - 3 stars: Better than any pillow I've used up until now, and the pillow has enough mass to stay cool for hours. At 70 degrees, it feels like it's been chilled, it's great; but at 75 degrees it feels the same temperature as the air, not cool at all. And if your room is 70 degrees, you don't really need a cooling pillow anyway! So don't buy it just for the cooling.
ODOR: This is my biggest concern with the pillow. I've had memory foam pillows and/or mattress toppers before which smell just a bit for a few days and then no odor is noticeable.....but this pillow smelled more than any pillow I've had before, and smells as much today (after 2 weeks) as when I first removed it from the package. I'm going to throw it in the closet for a few weeks and see if it still smells at that point. If it does, I will give up on it.
SUMMARY: Not sure yet whether I would recommend this pillow. It has potential, but only if I can get rid of the odor!

For those looking for quick info on this pillow, TL;DR I immediately bought a second one.

The slightly longer version.
I got this pillow on a whim for my SO who has neck and back problems. It has helped immensely with morning neck stiffness and improved sleep quality with less tossing and turning. Then one day I napped on it myself and it was comfortable, surprisingly cool (I am very warm bodied and this is GREAT), has a nice soft/firm balance, and the top and bottom arches are different sizes which makes it easy to adjust to your preference. Awesome pillow, awesome value, and awesome sleep.

This is great for people with neck and back problems, difficulty getting comfortable at night, staying cooler while sleeping, tossing/turning issues, and getting rid of your lumpy old pillow.

This is my latest favorite pillow.
I’ve had at least 5 different pillows in the 6 years after my first car accident. The narrow curve meant for side sleeping I use more than the thinner one meant for back-sleeping. The curve is great for neck support & the memory foam in on the medium side: it feels soft but is still supportive. Its ridges really do cool. In combination with Caspar’s cooling cotton pillowcases, my neck feels for and stays cool for minutes after I lay my head on it.

UPDATE: I bought a second one for & travel. Great price & comfortable. So, I would definitely recommend this pillow to anyone.

j'ai essayé depuis bientôt 4 ans bon nombre de type de coussin (mémoire de forme, grains d'épeautre, ...) car je présente des douleurs cervicales ainsi qu'un début d'arthrose cervicale. Mais chacun présente des avantages et inconvénients.
Ayant vu l'artic ergo lors de mes recherches sur internet j'ai vu les avis concernant mes problèmes assez pertinents j'ai donc décidé de l'acheter malgré certains avis assez tranchant sur la fiche produit amazon.
Au final je suis à plusieurs nuits de faites avec ce nouveau coussin et mes constats sont les suivants :
- pas de raideurs de nuque au réveil
- sensation fraiche sur le coussin assez bluffant
- la taille et l'ergonomie du coussin sont parfaite pour ma nuque et ma morphologie
- le côté mémoire de forme n'est pas trop mou ni trop dur ce qui ne génère pas de douleur
- et surtout je ne me réveil plus en pleine nuit et je refais des nuit d'une traite !
en conclusion je pense enfin avoir trouvé un coussin répondant à mes besoins et surtout me permettant de retrouver un sommeil réparateur ! Certes le prix est un peu élevé mais au final on passe tout de même une grosse partie de notre vie à dormir donc c'est un investissement à prendre en compte

Ich hab seit dem ich dieses Kissen nutze tatsächlich weniger Probleme mit meinem Nacken und meinen Schultern. Und das Kühlen funktioniert tatsächlich - allerdings nicht lange.
