These flattering and fully seam sealed pants feature our waterproof and breathable technology. They're ideal for outdoor enjoyment especially in the wettest of conditions. The Columbia Women’s Storm Surge™ Waterproof Rain Pants are a little slice from a dry oasis found in the middle of a deluge. 

Expect solid rain protection for outdoor activities in wet weather. Our Omni-TECH™ nylon sheds moisture while allowing warm air to escape, along with built-in mesh lining to keep you comfortable when intensity rises. The drawcord waist and tab adjustable leg cuffs ensure the elements are locked out for all day comfort. Columbia offers these women’s winter waterproof pants in two colors and multiple sizes. Available in extended sizing. Regular Fit. To ensure you get the right size, please refer to our sizing chart. To measure the waist correctly, measure around your natural waistline, allowing the tape measure to sit comfortably. For the hips, measure around the fullest part of your hips. And for the correct inseam, measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.

I purchased these pants when they were on sale in XS. Initially, I thought I should size up because I was going to be putting warm layers under these pants. However, these pants were the perfect fit. I wore these pants on a three day backpacking trip. They were totally waterproof— they withstood two days of rain, tons of mud, and were breathable enough that they allowed me to dry up super quickly after a swim in freezing water. Super functional and comfortable. They also operate well as an outside shell layer to retain heat when it’s cold. Overall, really impressed.

    These pants are great, I need them for camping! However, the pants that I ordered arrived in the wrong size, without a tag, and smell like Tide detergent. They were crumbled up and shipped in a clear plastic bag with a label slapped on it. It's clear that someone used them and returned them. I'm pretty unhappy that Amazon would send me used pants, but I'm happy that they're at least clean, and the size that arrived actually fits well. I'm keeping them. I couldn't find any other way to report this.

    The sizing on these is a little frustrating. I bought a size xl and I think I'm currently size 14 with pandemic weight. Since all indonis walk the dog rain or shine, I thought having some rain pants would make sense, especially if they go right over my pants. For this reason, I might have erred towards a larger size.

    The waist is mostly held up by an inner string tie plus an elastic. It's pretty comfortable and not bulky at the waistline, but I'm having trouble keeping them up even tightening them with the string.

    They are also too long for me, which I anticipated because I am only 5'2". I wish there was a better way to roll these up. If they had a roll tab they would be perfect. Right now, I try to "peg" them as in the old days or stuff them into my boots.

    They keep me dry and are a nice weight. I wore them in the snow the other day with fleece leggings underneath and I thought they were perfect for warmth.

    I just wish they fit better, but I'm not sure a large would have done the job (been too small).

    Perfect for our trip to Iceland! We were able to do a glacier hike in the rain and get close to waterfalls while staying warm and dry.
    I am 5'3 and usually wear size 10. The medium short pants were the perfect length, and had plenty of stretch in the waistband, but no give in the thigh or hip area. The large short were baggy in the legs, but gave me the mobility that I needed for hiking and room to layer underneath. I was able to pull them over my pants and boots from inside our rental vehicle. The velcro adjustments helped me shorten the length. If I visit Ireland and Scotland again, I will definitely be packing these.

    Holds up ok, definitely not flattering, but the worst part is the lack of pockets. There is one single, sad little inside pocket that's card sized. It won't even fit car keys, much less a phone. Columbia, I ask you, Where would you keep your phone in the rain? Your rain jacket pocket? That's not awkward or anything. I don't hate these pants, and will wear them while I am pining for rain pants with pockets.

    I bought the short medium. Usually im a medium in sweats, and a size 27-28 in silver jeans. (27inch waist, 38 hips, 23inch thighs)
    The reviews saying these run large are both right and wrong: these do run large fir me, but in the legs. Which never happens. I have big thighs in comparison to my body and i put these on over two thick layers: a chamois liner (using these for biking) AND jeans and these STILL had lots of width in the legs.
    But i did find that these fit true to size in the waist/hips. (i am a pear shaped body type btw)
    Also the short fit me almost perfect and im 5'3. About and inch or so long but very doable.
    As for the wide legs i am going to reign them in at the calves by wrapping a couple of reflector straps around them for visibility.. and so i dont get caught in my bike.
    The outside material and inside mesh are the exact same as columbia's arcadia jacket. Theyre sort of noisy but hey, when its raining and windy its not noticable.
    All in all these were a pretty good buy
