Great Boots but a Little Tight for Wider Feet
I bought these boot a few days ago, and I love them. I am a US size 7 but I sized up to a US 7.5 or AUS 4.5 for these boots. They go with a variety of different ohtfits and are perfect for our climate in the PNW. My only beef with them so far is that they can be difficult to get on and off and they are more narrow than I expected. I have slightly wider feet and they squeeze my mid foot slightly which is uncomfortable. Right now I cannot wear thick socks with them. Other than that- great boots!

Beautiful and comfortable but very very tight opening: I tried them on the minute they came, like an idiot, barefoot, because it is summer right now, and the humidity almost made me have to cut the boot off. I needed powder and help to get my foot free, but they are awesome with thin socks! I have very high arches so it took me an hour to get the inserts through the opening, but with them on top of the original footbed, the shoes are still roomy enough for thin socks. I always order up a half size to accommodate this orthotic, so I would say to order your "normal" size; it worked out perfectly for me. Its still Summer so I haven't tried heavy socks and a lot of walking in them, but they are very nicely constructed.

I did a LOT of research on these boots. When spending $200 on a pair of shoes, I try to make sure they're really the ones I want and that they'll fit as expected. I know that ordering thru Amazon, returns aren't *that* arduous, but I really don't like doing exchanges thru the mail.
Anyway, I normally wear a size 9 in women's shoes/boots. I read reviews, but they seemed equally to say the boots were too small, too large, or just right. I looked at Blundstones website and their size chart, and according to them, I was a size 10. But I was unsure about how accurate that was because this style of boot is a Women's boot, rather than the unisex style of most of their boots. I wrote them an email, and they recommended going with my normal size of 9 for this style of boot. I ultimately ended up looking up stores that sell Blundstone in my area and trying on various pairs, though no store around me had this particular style and color, I was able to make sure that size 9 was the right size for me. I have fairly narrow feet and slim ankles, so the higher shaft and regular size 9 worked perfectly.
A couple of things: 1. Blundstone half sizes indicate WIDTH, not length, so a 9 1/2 will have a wider toe box, but not added length.
2. This style of boot has a higher shaft, and it is narrow. That is what I wanted, because I like ankle support, but it can make them a little difficult to put on, especially if you have any hand/wrist/ankle mobility issues. A shoehorn helps. There are also several styles that have lower shafts and wider openings that may be better for people with wider feet/ankles. I know some reviwers remarked that the top of the boot cut into their ankles, which clearly should not happen.
3. The boots were comfortable for me from the first wear, but the arch support is not perfect, and I put a gel insole in mine (I had enough room in the boot to do that) and now they are extremely comfortable. In fact, I have been wearing them nearly every day. They're not super warm for being out in the snow, but a good pair of warm socks keeps them comfortable. They are waterproof.
4. I love these boots, they are the quintessential Chelsea that I was looking for. They have broken in nicely, and they're not too heavy.

My recommendation is that if you're unsure about sizing, go on Blundstone's website and look for a store near you that sells them - there are some in nearly every state - and try them on. Most stores have at least one or two styles, so you can see how they fit and how easy or hard they are to get on and off. Then you can order with confidence and not have to worry about exchanges!

I thought the reviews about the small, non-stretchy opening wouldn't apply to me, because I have narrow feet and small ankles. I struggled for over 10 minutes just to get the boots on. It was painful. It would be impossible to wear anything but the thinnest of socks with these. Once I did get them on, I had to struggle to get out of them. Who has time to struggle to put their shoes and off? I returned them.

I was so overdue that it's likely I'd have been happy with anything that didn't have a hole in the leather and fraying thread at the elastic...but I really do love how these are a little dressed up with that decorative punch in the leather along the elastic. It's subtle. I love the color, "Shiraz." They fit just right--the elastic is new, holds the boots in place so well it makes the boots difficult to remove! Use a boot jack and they easily slip off. That's the worst thing I can say about them---certainly not worthy of subtracting a star from my rating. I would recommend these to a friend.

I LOVE these boots - they are durable, truly waterproof, I feel safe on slippery terrain, can wear as every day shoe.

The one BIG downside is they are very difficult to get on and off. The leather is tight so getting your foot through the tight ankle part requires serious effort - taking them off is even harder. It does get easier over time as the shoes stretch out but big design flaw for me.

I have high insteps and low arches, so this style pull on boot is iffy for fit. Have had other styles of this brand that I could get on and they are worth the break in period. Sad this style did not work. The color and detail around the elastic is very attractive.
