I bought this to swap out a hue multi color bulb that I was only using for the white tones and felt it was wasted in that lamp.It’s not the brightest (800 lumen, pretty bright by smart bulb standards), but it’s plenty bright with the lamp shade I’m using in the photo. I originally tried it in a different lamp with a dark lamp shade, it didn’t seem to get bright enough, once I switched it to a light colored lamp shade it was perfect.The range of cool to warm whites is perfect for what I needed, it’s able to get really cool or really warm (and everything in between).

What can I say. This is a pretty basic smart bulb. It integrated easily with Alexa. I put this bulb in the can above our stairwell so we could control it independently of others. This is not a colored bulb, but with the app, I was able to adjust the hue and intensity of the bulb to match the others. This is a very nice and unexpected feature.

I got these as part of a bundle with an Echo Plus. So I'm addressing the echo plus compatibility in addition to the bulbs on their own:

As for the integration with Alexa on an Echo Plus, these are okay, but not great. You still need a Hue Bridge to enjoy the full capability of these bulbs; that's lame. It feels like a bait-and-switch deal where you get just a taste but still feel like you should buy the Hue Bridge to get the full capability from these bulbs.

Regarding just the bulbs, I like them; their color temperature variation capability coupled with brightness variation satisfies pretty much all realistic needs I might want from a light bulb in my living environment. While the full color bulbs are cool in concept, I really don't see myself ever taking advantage of such capability; these are all I'd really want or need. The only downside is that they don't get as bright as I'd like. I replaced some existing non-dimming LED bulbs that were significantly brighter than these, and I do miss how much brighter they made my room when I wanted it.

This light bulb was super easy to set up with my Alexa Show. The discover mode was straight forward and took mere moments to get set up. The light is nice and bright and works with Alexa's away from home mode. You can still turn on the light with the light switch if you want by toggle the switch twice super quickly. Just make sure to leave the light switch in the on position if you want to be able to turn on remotely or by voice.

Numerous attempts at warranty returns are ongoing. Will not replace bulb after it stopped commicating with my Echo Plus. It was working well for about five months then stopped. I’m not able to use this bulb in my automation or reconnect to it. Customer services wants to troubleshoot bulb from where they are? Huh? Just replace the bulb. They don’t want it? Amazon please help me. It’s still within the two year warranty window. Just just purchased it on 6/16/2020. Anybody else having issues. Customer service for Philips is really terrible. Still on hold for the tenth time in two days.

I originally bought sengled bulbs not knowing I needed a hub. I chose to get Echo plus which came with this Phillips bulb. I chose to put this bulb in my living room. Mine has so far stay connected to Alexa and I haven’t had a problem there. It lights up my living room nicely and I’m able to control it by voice with Alexa. I want to try the multicolor lights I’ve seen. I originally thought this was a warm/yellowish light. Turns out you can change that to white light! Very cool! You can also ask Alexa to dim the light or make it brighter

I'm happy we now have an alternative to the full color lights for hue A19 bulbs when all I wanted was to be able to have the more white light in the morning and the more yellow light in the evening. It's significantly more affordable.

Hue lights are still a bit overpriced imo, but this one a lot less than the color bulbs.
Also, I tried another brand of wifi bulbs and they didn't work, they would only activate 50% of the time and never managed to configure more than one light in a pack of 4. Whereas the Hue lights, while they're expensive, do work well.

Note that I do have hue hub that I got three years ago, so I use that... I don't know about people who try to make them work without.

Love them! Love them! Love them!. What's there not to love. I started off with couple of these lights and in about a week I had 70% of the bulbs in my home changed to different types of Philips Hue. Apart from loving the lights they give off, apart from the ability to change light colors, apart from the ability to change the brightness of lights, these lights have given me a greater sense of property security. The ability to turn lights on and off from anyway in the world where internet access is available, makes it much harder for anyone to know, when I am not home. No more getting out of bed to turn off a light. Holiday seasons, I can decorate my home with light colors reflecting the holiday. What can be done with these lights is limited only by ones imagination. Love them. Great job Philips.

This bulb works fine, but the cheaper white bulbs are just as good. Yes this has a bit of colour range, but the pleasing colour, the same warm white as the cheaper bulb, is the only one I use. If you need "aggressive blue that looks like it's from a halogen" this bulb is perfect. If you want nice warm light, save yourself a few bucks.
