The rod is telescopic and comes with compartments, the sturdy composition of carbon fiber mixed with fiberglass makes it a strong fishing gear. My friend was able to catch a 10 lbs fish and a 21 inches Walleye with this portable telescopic fishing rod.

The use of fiberglass also increases the life of the rod and makes it good for salty waters.

This is among the best portable fishing rods and is very lightweight and easy to carry as the E-glass used in the composition reduces the product’s overall weight by ten pounds. Being telescopic and lightweight at the same time makes the fishing rod travel-friendly.

The handle is made of EVA material, making it durable, soft, and dense, soft to the hands. Besides being soft to hands, it also gives great hold over the rod.

Telescopic fishing rod

This telescopic fishing rod is small and can be collapsed easily, making it fun and easy to carry all around the beach without any hassle. I used to keep it in a bucket with all my fishing essentials.

Besides being short and easy to handle, it is durable, making it work for years due to the glass fiber construction. The use of glass fiber also makes this heavenly fishing rod lightweight faces zero problems while carrying.

The durable construction of this rod helped me to get fish with a good weight that everyone loved to have at dinner. The rodcasts a good energy level, making it easier to go for the heavy fish catch.

The rod’s handle is composed of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, which allows me to make a good grip over the rod while catching the fish. The handle is also breathable, allowing you to have fresh hands without sweat. The ceramic guides are durable and non-corrosive as well. These ceramic guides make the rod more durable.

I bought this product in 2018, wasn't able to test it until today, so I'm well out of warranty. The rod seemed good. Light weight, collapsible, something I could readily throw in a bug out bag. Of course nothing goes into, or stays, in the bag without testing. My buddy called me up today wanting to go fishing, I had a reel and rod in need of testing. Sadly the reel (also by Sougayilang, and recommended to match this rod, it's the black and gold one), has four broken teeth on the main gear (from the factory), which my buddy discovered and is going to try to replace. We ran over to Wally world where I picked up a Pflueger President spinning reel to replace the broken reel. This should have given me pause for thought, but testing must go on.We overloaded the President with 10 lbs. test monofilament and headed to the pier. After dealing with tangles, other people's kids, and more tangles I managed to get the hook in the water three times. Not five or six times, three times. Lost bait once, reeled in once when I thought I had a bite, and the last time when I did have a "bite."The bite in question was about five pounds of seaweed.Seaweed half-way to the pier and still fully in the water, I feel a change in the rod and hear a puffing crack sound. I looked up to see my rod bend to a 90 degree angle and then finish tearing itself apart. The result is as pictured. As my friend cried and laughed at me, I pulled the President off the rod, put the rod in the garbage and packed up to go home.I'll be looking for another telescoping rod, but it won't be from Sougayilang. As it stands the main issue with the rod is a manufacturing defect. The carbon fiber has been treated like fiberglass rather than like carbon fiber. This makes it susceptible to shearing forces, which are largely what are encountered in fishing, rather than end force forces which the current layout of the rod is better suited to handle. Read this as: bendy rod bad, pokey rod good.

Reviewed in Australia on December 5, 2021
After my first examining of the rod when it arrived one of the guides (second from the reel) came off as i retracted the rod; all the sections collapsed into each other fine but thats where the problem occured...as the third section collapsed into the second the ring guide from the second came off its glue. Now its just hanging loose. Not quality epoxy glue or not enough?

Had high hopes for this brand. A little bit disappointed. But I used the rod today works fine but its gonna cost me extra now i have to glue the ring back into place.
