Concert Ukulele

Ukulele concert is a good choice for beginner to learn ukulele music. The frets are a bit more spaced on a concert ukulele than the soprano, so folks with larger fingers might find it easier to play.

There can be up to 18 frets on a concert ukulele which allows players to navigate to higher notes on the fretboard. It’s commonly tuned in standard like the soprano uke although some people will opt to tune their G down an octave linear tuning.

The look of it is simply super high end, tough it is not solid wood it looks just as if it was all mahogany. Beautifully built.SOUND: Very clear and nice resonance from the woods which plays very well with an acoustic guitar in terms of volume. It is little, but puts out a nice warm yet Ukulele like crisp highsSTRINGS: I have kept the ones that are on and they do match the additional ones that they sent out (which is really cool), again not a Ukulele pro, however the strings are holding up very well and after the first week of playing and stay in tune quite wellBODY: For this price, SUPERB! It is solid built and I can tell it will also take on some beating for a while. The neck is beautiful with a satin finish which makes nice to slide back and forth as you playTUNERS: These in combination with the strings that it comes with have worked super well to keep the instrument in tune for days at a time only minor adjustments every other day, and good to go.PLAYABILITY: Right out of the box this Ukulele feels very smooth around the fretboard, the frets are well polished and do not catch your fingers, the back of the neck allows for easy position change.BAG: Sturdy, extra pocket with zippers for any accessories you might want to carry (tuners, strings, pics, etc.), and it has two shoulder straps sot that you can wear it like a backpack. I wanted a new concert ukulele that had a strap. My current one is for beginners. After I read all the reviews I decided to purchase this concert professional ukulele. Comfortable to hold. Frets smooth. Aquila strings easy on my 74 year old fingers. I like the strap which was easy to install. At times when standing up to play keeps ukulele from sliding around. I like the sound too. I am a member of a ukulele group and we perform out in the community.
The only thing I don’t like are the tuning pegs. Can see the gears. Most are covered to make a nicer appearance. But they are easy to use, unlike my beginner ukulele. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

I am a high school teacher of 30+ years and for the first time ever am facilitating several independent studies classes. One young man selected the music industry careers as his topic for the semester. I asked if he played an instrument and his response of "no, but I want to" started a group quest to find what might work for him. Fairly soon I was working with half a dozen students wanting to try the Ukulele. One of the young men said he know someone who could play and would ask him to come to teach some of the basics. He agreed and the quest for instruments began.
After several days of research, begging family and friends to help, we finally received a couple of classroom instruments. One teacher, six students, and 2 ukuleles make learning next to impossible. One of the girls told me she found the ukulele she was going to get for class. Her eagerness to share the find caused me to slow down and take a look. She had actually found a ukulele that was not too expensive and looked a lot better than the "toy" ones she first wanted. I agreed to order it for her and she could pay me back in installments. Fast-forward to now, I also learned that the young man who was teaching us had a bumper sticker on the back of his ukulele that covered the rather large crack which happened when he either dropped it or his sister sat on it. He liked the Tenor size because of his "sausage fingers" and the sound, so I ordered THIS Ranch Tenor with him in mind.
I wish I would have recorded his first reaction to this Ukulele. He was very surprised to find out how much I paid and kept reinforcing his Hawaiian ukulele was three times that amount. HE LOVED THE SATIN FINISH because he has sweaty hands and the high gloss varnish causes a slippery grip. His praise of the Ranch ukulele has not stopped since the first day I let him play it. Ukulele fever is spreading and I believe we have found one of the BEST Beginner Ukuleles Amazon has to offer.
Hope the videos convey the quality in construction, the sound, and the fun of play.

This glossy gem is lightweight but solidly built. The spalted maple body is not veneer but solid wood (the maple grain is visible through sound hole). Through the body string holes might take some getting used to, but mine arrived with Aquila Super Nylgut strings which are semi-transparent and look really good with the glossy finish and sound great. Strap buttons in black are installed on neck and body and the included strap (which matches the design shown) is made for buttons (unlike the soundhole clip shown). The tuning machines look cool in black and inline like an electric-guitar. I bought this one for looks alone! The almond shape is unique and the colourful inlay is tasteful and bold at the same time.

EDIT: After using the ukulele for a while and repairing the stripped screw hole I decided to give this ukulele more stars. I was initially very upset concerning the lie about the solid top when it is actually laminate, but it is such a pretty instrument and it plays so well that I calmed down and decided to keep it. Laminate wood is much more resistant to damage from humidity and heat anyway and the price was reasonable even if it is laminate instead of solid. I am enjoying playing it very much.

I will start with what I liked about this solid top (not) Koa (Acacia) Ukulele. It is very pretty and holds it's tune well after string break in. The sound is OK and the neck was nice with no sharp frets etc. The action was very good right out of the box.
What I did not like:
The top is laminate and not solid as advertised. The finish around the sound hole and a few other places around the ukulele is very poorly done. The screw for the neck strap button was overtightened at the factory and stripped out needing repair. The outer box supplied by Amazon was perfect on arrival but the actual box the ukulele was in was very damaged and even had one end missing. As the end was not even in the box it is evident that it was packed that way.
