They are very comfortable. Love the gripper hands...safe to drive with as a result. So far, they appear well made. Time will be the judge of that question. Overall, recommended !
Received my order yesterday, and tried them on.. my worries about them being too tight were unfounded, the fit perfectly. just enough compression to help with mild swelling, but not so tight that they cut off circulation.
wore them to bed (the package does say "...soft enough to sleep in" so figured why not). My hands were not nearly as puffy as they usually are in the mornings - big plus!
I do, however, find the fingers to be a bit long & awkward for doing things, as i have short, stubby fingers.
I use a trackball that is operated by the first & middle fingers at the computer, and the ends of the fingers make using it awkward - i have to roll back those two fingers to use it comfortably. The fingers of the gloves come all the way down nearly to the back edge of my nail beds - that is how short my fingers are, lol. The product image show the fingers ending just short of the first joint... not on me!
Aside from the finger length, i find these gloves to be comfortable and helpful when my hands are aching.
I will probably purchase an extra pair or two so I can have a pair to wear if/when I need to wash them.
After a long time comparing all of my options, I finally settled on "Dr. Frederick's Original" gloves. I was looking for a pair of comfortable, lightweight, and breathable fingerless gloves for basic everyday usage, and I picked these ones because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews as well as they were the only ones I could find that were made with cotton.
I do not have any joint issues in my fingers or wrists, but even if I did I think the compression in these is far too light to provide any sort of medical relief. This worked fine for me, but it's worth mentioning for anyone else browsing these. My unboxing and first day impressions were perfect, and the gloves seemed to be checking all my boxes without fail. Unfortunately, I began running into issues after just a few hours of wearing them.
Firstly, the stitching around the thumb-piece is far too tight and harsh for the webbing between my thumb and index finger, causing mild pain and discomfort as well as some red discoloration after an extended period of time. I don't know if this issue would be unique to my hands, but it's tight enough that I think it would probably hurt most people's hands. Secondly, the external branded tag on the right glove causes itchiness and some scratching on the outer side of my wrist. Ironically, the internal tag on the left glove doesn't bother me, as it sits flat, but the stitching for the external tag is much too harsh for a tight-fitting accessory.
Those two issues combined makes me not want to wear the gloves regularly, completely defeating the purpose of owning them. I hope this review is useful to other customers, and ideally that the manufacturer is reading these and taking notes. If those two issues were mended, I would happily buy these again and rate them five stars, but as they are right now, I will be returning them at the earliest convenience.
