Excellent flashlights at an excellent price

I bought three sets of these, since mine is one of those households where flashlights only appear when they aren't needed. These flashlights, at nine bucks apiece, are every bit as good as several (they're around here somewhere) that set me back four or five or six times as much. The light is bright, the cases are solid and well-machined, the variable focus works smoothly, and the small size is just right. Now, if you're intending to use these to fend off marauding tigers or neighbors, they're probably useless, because they're small and lightweight. But, c'mon! They're small, bright, lightweight metal flashlights, and they do THAT job very, very well. I don't give a hoot if they're "knock offs" of some hyper-expensive professional flashlight with a fancy label. I'm not looking for prestige—just a flashlight that works. And I really don't much care where they're made, so long as they're solid and well-made. These qualify. Sure, I buy American when I can and within reason, but I will NOT pop an extra 60 bucks per flashlight just to line the pockets of some profiteer, either. I really like these little lights, and I'd buy 'em again in a heartbeat. They arrived in two days as promised, and they were well packed to boot. I'm using the 18650 batteries, and there are fitting tubes enclosed with these flashlights that allow for a snug fit for the 18650s. A battery pack for three AAA batteries is also included. An excellent buy! Don't hesitate!

Solid, lightweight, good light output

I've had a pair of these for loosely a month now. These are mixed use flashlights for me, so other than a quick test for function, I didn't immediately have an impression other than noticing the oddity of a square center point to the light it casts when it's fully zoomed in (just not what's expected - it doesn't hinder the function of the light in any way).
After a rather rare power outage a couple of weeks ago, and some other minor use, I feel comfortable recommending these flashlights. I've been very happy with a somewhat smaller, but just as bright Cree unit, but these have the zoom aspect, a more "tough" feel, and were very inexpensive as I purchased them. A few notes:

These cast at least as much light as literally any of my older, "regular" flashlights - even one I have that uses 3 D cells and has twice the diameter lens (they are actually *much* brighter than that one). The aforementioned Cree unit is the only think that comes close to putting out as much light.
Changing out batteries is a hassle, but only a minor one. It has a housing inside of it that takes three triple A batteries, so you have to remove that housing, remove each battery (that's the part that's a hassle), and then insert the new ones. This is similar to the Cree unit I mentioned as well as some similar sized Duracell branded lights that chewed through batteries even when they were turned off.
I can't give you an idea on battery life as yet, other than to say my other LED based flashlights have never needed a change of battery other than ones I've done on a precautionary basis (age of battery) or the Duracell ones that had some form of power leak that drains batteries in 3-4 days even if the light isn't in use.

NUTSHELL: I would recommend these to anyone for almost any use. Compact, easy to carry, lightweight, relatively inexpensive, and put out a massive amount of light relative to their size.

Excellent flashlights with the right batteries!

These are excellent flashlights for an excellent price (2-pack for $15.99). They are very bright, offer 5 modes of operation and are easy to use. The slider mechanism works well and the flashlights are very sturdy. Their only inconvenience is that you have to click through all of the 5 modes of operation (i.e. high brightness, medium, low, strobe and SOS) to get back to that mode (e.g. high) once you shut the flashlight off. These flashlights DO NOT come with batteries so make sure you purchase (or have) the right batteries for them. They can use either 3 x AAA batteries (ea) or 1 x 18650 (ea) rechargeable lithium batteries. After watching a bunch of reviews on YouTube on various 18650 rechargeable batteries, I settled on the 18650 Orbtronic 3.7V two-pack (3400 mAh) lithium batteries for $29.95 (2-pack) and the Nitecore New I2 Intellicharger ($16.95). I learned that no matter what any lithium battery seller claims, the largest capacity mAh battery that can be currently produced is 3400 mAh. Claims of anything greater (e.g. 5000 mAh, 5500, 5800, 6000, etc), etc) should alert you to fraud. Don't buy them... I almost fell for the much cheaper ($8.90 2-pack) 5800 mAh claims of one battery seller until I watched the 18560 battery reviews on YouTube. They are really only 1100 mAh batteries and don't have the overload protection circuit as claimed. Buyer beware... Bottom line: Excellent flashlights with the right batteries and charger. BTW - I was not paid by anyone to write this review. I hope it helps you!
