So far I used this on a 3 day solo backpacking trip, temperatures down to about 35 at night, no rainfall.
Pros:
- Light: 3lbs I read the other reviews that said this was actually 3lbs, and it even says so on the product packaging. Still, that's lighter than my 5+lb 2-person tent.
-Affordable: can't go wrong for $80
-Decent construction
-Easy set up
-Good width dimensions
Cons:
-No vent in rain fly: my other tents have air vents in the fly, which allows moisture from breathing all night to escape. Without vents, condensation develops on the inside of the tent and you feel colder, and is further complicated by the next con
-Not tall enough: I am 5' 11", and used this with an air pad about 3" tall, and my head and toes were rubbing against the sidewalls. This would be a big problem if you used the non-vented rain fly, condensation collected, and soaked through a down sleeping bag.
This is a single person bivy shelter. For any fellow hiking enthusiasts, this is an excellent tent if you are going hiking with a group, and responsible for your own shelter.
If you are hiking and expect to nestle two in this, listen very closely, you may be able to. Without sleeping pads, side sleeping, and being very, very trim and slender in stature. I have never seen this be used that way, but I believe it to be possible. Please test that before attempting in the field, do not be shelterless based solely upon my thought of 'well maybe it could work'.
This bag is the cats pajamas for me, big enough with more than adequate room for my gear, and light enough that I'm not too stressed about taking that extra store of snacks to munch on too.
This bag isn't tall, i am 5'8, and torso long. I can't sit up in it myself. Lean up, yes, crawl around, yup,(I'm an active sleeper) and move to my hearts content while I'm strolling down in dream lane.
I roll up my pad and sleeping bag, inside of this guy, no problem.
This isn't a freestanding tent, such as a dome style tent, with x configured poles, you do need to secure the flooring in order to pitch the tent, and tie down/string stake the rain fly. So keep that in mind what type of terrain you may be camping in, it'll keep you from disappointment in the field.
I know that this is a 3 season tent, and it is not intended for use that I put it through, but it handles snow fairly decently, as long as it is not complete white out snow storm. The six inch snow fall I have rode out in this, really wasn't bad at all. The pitching time was very fast, i do recommend practicing at home first though. It really helps you out.
I personally enjoy this tent, and the color I chose. As far as customer service, it is really outstanding, and my product arrived the day it was scheduled.
You know you feel like you are in good hands when they check up on you, to make sure you are satisfied.
This is my two cents on this tent, and best of luck in choosing the tent that is right for you!
The actual tent/ mosquito netting and rain fly were well sewn and sturdy - but the poles were complete junk.
This season I bought the moderately priced Winterial solo bivvy with aluminum poles. The poles are skinnier than I thought they would be but they virtually snap together automatically and they don't have to bear any weight as the tent only weighs 3.3lbs.
I'm a big guy. 6'6" tall and 240lbs. And there's plenty of space inside for me to lay down and stretch out as the overall length is more than 7'. Also it's wide enough for me to roll to my side and pull my knees up a fair amount.
It comes with 14 sturdy aluminum stakes with sharpened ends which is helpful in harder ground. And guy lines to sinch down the rainfly in windy conditions.
The tent breaks down very fast and returning it back to its tote is easy.
I'm pleased with the purchase.

The morning Sun can heat this thing up like a potato in a microwave, so make sure you are in the shade !!!!
So far its a great tent. I'm thinking of buying a hammock to place this tent on top and turn it into a hammock tent ! :)
