However, others say that it ripped away on the first set up, the bottom doesn't seem particularly durable, and that the poles break and puncture the tent, and they're giving 4 stars because the tent stakes are cheap and bend easily.

I like how wide it is. Good amount of room to keep you away from the walls. A Nemo Tensor Regular fits in quite well with more than a few inches to spare on both sides The area above your head does allow for a pack to be stored. All be it a small one. This a good 3 season tent that leans toward 2...... The reason I say that is because most of the bottom were the fly comes down has a pretty big gap. Not that is necessarily a bad thing because this seems to have good airflow to it. Just don't expect it to be super warm. Only one night so far that I had condensation inside. And it wasn't very much. Weight= I measure 2lbs 5 oz for the tent in a lightweight 5L stuff sack. 11oz for the poles, stakes (switched to aluminum) and guy lines. You have to have guy lines as this is not free standing. Waterproof? YES! so far! I always coat every tent with Scotch guard Outdoor water shield. So is the test flawed? May be? It has been in 4 rain storms now with zero water intrusion. One of which was a heavy downpour. This surprised me since like I stated earlier has a healthy gap at the bottom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lite minimalist design

Last season I bought a solo tent for $25 just to see what made a cheap tent cheap. The main issue I found was the poles. I'll never buy fiberglass poles ever again - after 3 uses the poles split lengthwise and were actually dangerous. I ended getting fiberglass splinters in my hand where the pole broke - and I really wasn't torquing on them. I ended up wrapping them with duct tape just to get to the end of my trip. The tent went into the trash in Colorado.
The actual tent/ mosquito netting and rain fly were well sewn and sturdy - but the poles were complete junk.

This season I bought the moderately priced Winterial solo bivvy with aluminum poles. The poles are skinnier than I thought they would be but they virtually snap together automatically and they don't have to bear any weight as the tent only weighs 3.3lbs.

I'm a big guy. 6'6" tall and 240lbs. And there's plenty of space inside for me to lay down and stretch out as the overall length is more than 7'. Also it's wide enough for me to roll to my side and pull my knees up a fair amount.

It comes with 14 sturdy aluminum stakes with sharpened ends which is helpful in harder ground. And guy lines to sinch down the rainfly in windy conditions.

The tent breaks down very fast and returning it back to its tote is easy.

I'm pleased with the purchase.

If you're 5'9" or taller this tent will be damn near impossible to get in and out of lol. Its not very water proof. But it's decent for the price and its lightweight and small when packed
