Excellent driving gloves: high quality of workmanship, substantial but supple leather with the dye that does not stain when warm. The glove fits very snugly but the length of the thumb and fingers is perfect (mind you, for MY hand. Since hands differ, despite the general size of the glove, be it small, medium or large, be prepared for the possibility that YOUR gloves my turn to be either too small or too large. Return and ask for a larger/smaller size - with Amazon it is banally simple). However, for some drivers this particular version of Riparo gloves may be less suitable for warm weather driving: while the upper part has finger perforations and the knuckle openings, there are no palm perforations at all. Therefore, in hot weather the glove will be ultimately soaked in sweat. However, the purpose of the driving glove is NOT to keep your hands warm (the heating system of your car should take care of it) or to make you look chic nd classy, but to improve your grip on the steering wheel that may get quite slippery due to the sweaty palms. Since your sweat-soaked driving glove will increase friction between your palm and the wheel, your grip on the latter will actually improve albeit the comfort of your hand likely less so. Therefore, for those who prefer more ventilation, a fully perforated glove by the same manufacturer - also obtainable on Amazon - may provide a better choice. For me, a driver who uses gloves in the scorching heat as much as in the sub"-zero "freezies" the glove is perfect.

Best driving gloves for the price

This is my second pair of Riparo's. Still have my first pair of black Riparo's (years old now but still looking fine). Bought these new brown gloves when my old brown gloves (not Riparo's) finally wore out. Leather quality and stitching are excellent. Fit is spot on. The circumference of my hand is 8.5" and length from middle-finger to base of palm is 8". The Riparo Medium size fits snug when new and will naturally stretch to a comfortable fit. Bonus with these new brown gloves (but not shown in the online pictures) is the extra perforations. The old black gloves have a single row of perforations on just the back-of-hand side, running from each fingertip to the base, excluding the thumb. These new brown gloves have double rows of perforations on both palm and back-of-hand sides running from the fingertip to the base and include the thumb. The thickness of the leather is a good compromise between thin enough for good tactile feel when operating controls, but thick enough to not feel fragile.

Just got these today, so can't speak of longevity. I had a similar pair that lasted for years Even though they were also large, they were slightly short in the fingers, so the index fingers of both hands eventually wore through the leather at the fingertip. I needed new gloves. The leather quality of these Riparo gloves is very good and the stitch work is excellent. The large, ordered based on the Amazon sizing chart, fit quite tightly, but the finger length is much better than my last pair. After having had this type of glove previously and considering the thickness of the leather, I am comfortable these will stretch to fit my hands perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

Poor quality and poor sizing

Most people here are correct, they run larger than you would think. I am normally an XL glove size, so I thought I would try that here. My thumb, middle finger, and pointer finger were sized fairly accurately, I probably would just order 1 size down, but then the ring finger and pinky finger were way off, and the holes for my knuckles did not even close to line up. Also, and maybe this was just my pair, but the material looks like very old leather? Like mine came very worn and wrinkled. If it weren't for the fact that they were totally clean and had a new tag on them, I would have guessed by the material quality that they were well used.
For all these reasons, I just returned for a refund. Not worth even trying another size, I just feel like the description and cut of these is totally off.

They fit a bit loosely but it may be that my perfect fit is between sizes. My major complaint is the difficulty unsnapping and resnapping the "wrist" snaps. With my arthritic fingers I will need to leave them unsnapped at all times.

The quality seems fine, soft and supple. This is January in a cold area of NJ and I do not plan on using them until warmer weather in the Spring.

Though not perfect for me, I think they will suffice well for driving.

I was not certain as to what size I should order so I followed a glove sizing chart I found on line and made the size selection based on that measurement. When the gloves arrived they were a perfect fit, a little snug at first but after several wearing shorts they feel as though I had them for years. As far as I can tell they are defect free and they look great, so much so that I will be very careful as to not leave them lying around just anywhere. They provide a good grip on the wheel and are sufficiently ventilated so as not to become too warm when driving with the top down on a sunny day. Very satisfied overall.

Very nice gloves for sure. Got them today, tried them on ( my hand size is 8.5 medium ) and they fit very nice. The snap on the wrist is well done and is secure. The stitching is very nice as well. With proper care, which includes not leaving them in direct sun light as this will dry them out and will lead to cracking and peeling, you should have these for a long while. As I have done in the past with similar gloves I condition ONLY the top part of the gloves with a leather conditioner as doing it on the palm side would reduce the grip of the leather and would have a hard time gripping things.
