The handles are nice and used as intended I predict a long and useful life from mine. I even bought a second set. Keep them clean with a stiff brush and don't clog them with soft metal like aluminum or lead and they'll perform just fine.
Pretty solid as well, didn't feel like it would snap or anything. All in all, pretty great file set and very affordable. Recommended.

Pretty solid as well, didn't feel like it would snap or anything. All in all, pretty great file set and very affordable. Recommended.
I don't believe these are "DIAMOND" coated needle files as it says in the main description. I have actual diamond needle files and it is easy to spot the difference. Most diamond files that I have used have a sandpaper like coating on them that does the filing. These have defined patterns like regular non-coated files. This and the fact that the packaging says nothing about "diamond" on them tells me these are just hardened files.
Having said that, I do like the quality and feel of the files. The handles make them easy to hold, and help with delicate filing. The reason for three stars is that they are not what they claim to be.
Cons: Brittle. I broke the first one I used. Granted, these are needle files, so they're not exactly robust. And, I was working on steel (making a round hole into a square hole), so I was applying moderate force. Still, I think they could be a bit more durable.
Bottom line: I would recommend them - just be careful with how much force you use with them. As skinny as they are, they're easy to break.
This set - while not what I would call "expensive" is much, much higher quality than my original set. My current project involves a lot of filing and shaping of brass - and this set works so smoothly and efficiently that I hardly have to swear at all ;) . Finally, the handles are also very nice and (help) prevent hand fatigue when filing for an extended period of time.
The quality of these files is much higher than I expected for the price, and as a result I couldn't be happier.
