effin magnets bro!
These are better than I expected. Very bright- even during daylight hours. Small, and compact yet easily visible. Some people complain that they are made of plastic but this is stated clearly in the description. Also, in truth- what ISN'T made from plastic nowadays? The magnetic base grips tightly to the stand and the flare itself is covered in a reflective tape. Their storage box is big enough to keep some extra batteries in. I was so impressed with the performance of these that i'm buying another set.They magnetize nicely to the side of my vehicle and stay there securely with no slipping.The flashlight is a cool extra feature as well, but honestly it's not a very good light and I can't see using it outside of an emergency situation. I would normally have a much better flashlight on hand.Another thing I realized after using these a bit- the batteries do run out after about 3.5 to 4 hours of continuous use. This doesn't present a problem for me but it may be a cause for others to carry a whole bunch of extra batteries depending on how frequently you use the flares. Fully charged however, they should be enough to get you through at least one roadside emergency without having to change the batteries.Note: it is always best to store batteries outside of the unit so they aren't worn down when you need to use them.I use 2 packs of these flares in conjunction with a set of DOT warning reflector triangles- when parked on the side of the road with a trailer. During the daytime the flares lighting is visible enough. These things make me feel alot safer and that no one is going to hit any of my belongings/equipment.
