Filter
The stainless steel filter allows the essential oils pass through while keeping all the grounds in the filter. Can be easily removed after brewing.








Fresh tasting coffee
The high-quality glass and silicone lid can be placed on the carafe while brewing. However, the best part is, that it completely seals the opening even when the filter is removed. The silicone stopper will keep the coffee fresh even after more than a week in the fridge.








Easy pour spout and handle
Designed for easy and effortless pouring. The carafe is made from borosilicate glass, which is resistant to thermal shock, it also does not absorb any odors, chemicals or residue. Giving you a fresh tasting coffee every time you brew. The carafe has a 1 Liter capacity.

Hot to Use the "Okunion" Cold Brewer

Step 1:

Place the stainless steel filter in the carafe and fill with your desired coffee grind. A really coarse grind will work best for a submerged type of cold-brew (like this one). In order to make a cold brew concentrate calculate a 1:4 coffee to water ratio. For example, for 100 grams of ground coffee, you will put 400 grams water approximately 14 Fl oz.. This will give you a concentrate that you will have to dilute with water before drinking.

Step 2: Fill with the amount of water you need. Maximum till just below the spout. Filtered water will ensure optimal taste. Make sure the lid and stopper are closed.

Step 3: Place in the fridge and after 12-24 hours remove the filter with the used grounds. You will now have fresh homemade cold brew coffee, enjoy!

Elegant design and makes delicious tea
I recently purchased the Osaka cold brewer to make tea with. I love it. It works exactly as described. I put about 5-6 tea bags (Typhoo English) into the filter, wet them with bottled water and let them sit for about 3-5 min. Then I fill the glass up to the spout line with bottled water, and I allow that to steep for about 18-24 hours. I remove the filter, and store the tea in the fridge. Each morning I pour about 1/5-1/6 of the tea into a cup, warm it for about 45 seconds in the microwave, and then fill the cup with hot water. I've noticed a major decline in my acid reflux since drinking the cold brew tea (previously I was drinking coffee made in a French Press). The glass brewer has an elegant slim design which fits nicely in the fridge, and looks nice on my counter. I highly recommend! (I haven't tried coffee in it yet)

I like the look of the carafe, it has an elegant quality. The filter and glass carafe are easy to clean. It is light and delicate so care is necessary to prevent chipping. Two spout stoppers were included. The glass and rubber top fit fine with and without the filter.

This is my first cold brew experience and I used a medium ground dark coffee. Some grounds eventually float outside of the filter and settle on the bottom but I don't mind and do not pour them into my cup.

I bought this on sale and am pleased to have an option aside from using my French press. The coffee does seem more concentrated and I'm enjoying flavorful iced coffee. I'm experimenting with sweeteners, creamers, added flavors and getting a nice jolt that is pleasing throughout the day.

I bought this cold brew coffee maker as a gift for a family member, and they loved it so much I decided to buy one for myself. Couldn't be happier that I did, it's simple and dependable, and makes great tasting coffee!

My process:
1. Coarsely grind ~5tbsp of whole coffee beans, dump it in the chamber
2. Run a little water over the grounds, let it sit for a few minutes (directions recommend this to improve the flavor, seems to work well)
3. Fill to the spout with water and let it steep in the fridge for 24 hours, stir it once or twice over that time period
4. Remove the chamber with the grounds

The resulting cold brew is strong enough to last me a few afternoons. For that amount of coffee beans it uses, it's more efficient than the drip coffee maker I use in the morning.

Yes, there will be sediment at the bottom of the pitcher, but that's the case with just about any cold brew coffee maker. The filter has to be porous enough to let water pass through it at a high enough rate to brew in a reasonable amount of time. It's a delicate balance between making the filter permeable enough to brew well, but fine enough to prevent sediment, and I think this pitcher nails it.

Just don't shake the pitcher before you pour it, and don't pour out the last bit of brew with sediment in it. Problem solved!

Love the shape of the glass pitcher and the quality of the pierced stainless steel (not mesh) filter! A disadvantage of this type of brew system is that the coffee grounds are packed into the filter to a larger degree than free-floating in a pitcher or Pyrex measuring cup, which is how I used to cold brew. However, the ease and speed pouring out the brewed coffee in the morning makes this my preferred method now. I can actually get two brews out of the same cup of ground coffee without a perceptible loss of quality. Because the bottom of the filter is solid, not pierced, I can easily stir with a chopstick to move water through the grounds at least once during the 24 hours. Filter is easy to clean and fine enough to use pre-ground coffee, if I want to. Silicone on both the glass lid and the filter make it easy to remove the filter and put the lid back on to store brewed coffee in the refrigerator. Some reviewers complain about the glass breaking easily. This is tempered glass, which means that it is less fragile while thin, like any type of laboratory glass. But, as such, it is important to follow several basic principals of care. Do not tap or bump the glass against hard surfaces, do not use metal utensils or anything that might scratch the glass, and avoid rapid temperature changes. A glass product, no matter how sturdy, will never be as durable as metal or plastic, so that would be an unrealistic expectation. If you need a carefree product, buy something else. If you want an attractively designed, easy to use cold-brew option, give this one a try.

I love this coffee maker. The coffee is smooth and not bitter at all. I live in a part of the country that is very warm most of the year and I like iced coffee. This coffee maker makes it easy. The carafe is slim so it doesn't take up much space in the refrigerator. The only downside I see is the capacity of the carafe. It's perfect for me because I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and I only drink one mug each morning so it lasts several days. If we have guests I'll probably need to fall back on a standard coffee maker. You can make a pot and pour it into another container and make more, but it takes 12 - 24 hours to brew a pot. I've used both regular ground coffee and have ground my own beans but I'm not sure if one is better than the other as far as grounds escaping into the coffee. I don't notice grounds in the coffee, however, either way. I haven't tried making a very concentrated brew yet but that might be the answer to making it last longer.

Worked great at first but the glass is VERY thin and it didn't last the 5th time through the dishwasher (the handle broke off). I assume one of the other dishes ran into the handle inside the dishwasher. I like that it was tall and thin - not short and fat in my crowded refrigerator. Also, the stainless center cylinder filter (not cloth) seemed durable but released more coffee grounds through it than the semi-permeable plastic ones I've used in the past. I did not reorder a second one since the thin glass has me concerned. I'm going to try a different model.

Bought for daughter to save her money from buying Tim Hortons iced coffee everyday. I still use TIM'S coffee grounds for this, but make sure you use the CORRECT grind size as must say on the coffee package it's good for a PRESS. She sets it up before dinner and then ready to drink the next morning. Easy to clean but also easy to lose the little round rubber stopper. Glass is very thin so will shatter into million pieces if dropped. But cheapest one like this in Amazon and already saved $$$$. I would buy again if I drank coffee... Would make a great Christmas present
