Make sure you study the instructions as the main button has three positions: Off, Partially operational, and Full operation. In the middle position the level appears to be working, nice bright laser light, but the auto leveling feature is not engaged. Made a few bad measurements before I realized what was wrong. Now I love it.

The battery cover when closed didn’t make proper contact with the batteries. I had to bend the metal inside the battery cover for it to make proper contact. In addition, the vertical laser light line is distorted.

I have never had a 360 laser level before thinking who would need to pay so much more for a level than one of those cheap line lasers you can get for $10? I was never able to justify paying more than a hundred bucks to have level pictures. Then I discovered this guy at a good price and had a need to make sure some molding I wanted to put up was straight all around. Not only does this thing give you a nice, bright line around your entire room, it is self leveling (to a degree). Place it on a tripod and it shows its line all around and gives you a perpendicular line as well. So much better than what I have used in the past (granted, all I have used in the past were crappy laser lines). I would defiantly suggest this for anyone needing a level line around the room and doesn't want to break the bank.
