He was happy with the gift

He was happy with the gift
I got this as a gift for one of those people in your life that had everything. They have to use a public indoor pool for swimming that is also used for physical therapy so in order to drown out the sound he wanted one of these. He was happy with the gift.

Just recently purchased this product and so far have been very impressed with this player. In fact, I have used many, many different MP3 players for swimming. I swim almost two miles a day and could not get through the boring cadence without the help of music and I have found that this is the best player with all the features that are important to me.

The volume is key, many players just can't be turned up loud enough to compensate for the water and the ability to feel the buttons (who cares about a screen when you have the player on the back of your head) to move forward/backward is fantastic. Yes, the controls and the limited options are simplistic but that is exactly what you need when your doing serious lap swimming and cannot fiddle with controls. The price is excellent on this product as well. Loading the music is simple as well, just pop it on the old PC and voila, it is a flash drive. No hassle with some stupid music file program like other asinine players. I loaded about 1600 songs and still haven't filled memory. I really like the way it clips as well, you clip it to the back of your goggles.

However I haven't used the ear buds at all, so can't vouch for them. But the H20 short cord ear buds really sound well combined with this excellent player. I have found that the biggest weakness for any underwater MP3 players are the ear pieces. If you are kicking against a wall when making that reverse very few ear buds can take that pressure. The H20 Surge Plus (short Cord for lap swimming) ear buds and the H2O X1's are excellent but pricey, you can check out my reviews there. These additional ear buds are an investment but they do a great job underwater.

The key feature on this product is the shuffle feature and the ability to play a set playlist in the proper order. I use that shuffle feature when I get bored with my playlist but the other key feature with this product is that it will play your playlist if you put numbers in front of the name. I use a simple free Windows program called Rename that will automatically add numbers to the name of songs I want to hear, in whatever numerical order I want them to play and this player will play them in that order. It also will pick up from that last song the was played previously the next time you turn on the player. (It's a simple feature, but actually have had players that go back to the first song in the list after the player was turned off.)

Also some helpful tips on using waterproof ear buds:

1. Start with the larger ear bud rubber ends first then work your way down to the smaller sizes if that doesn't fit. If you use the larger sizes, you get a tighter barrier against the water.

2. You should consider wetting the ear buds lightly in the water before you place them in your ear, it seems to keep them more secure in your ear for some reason.

3. When you insert them in your ear pull back the top of your ear with your opposite hand, that will stretch it and allow the ear canal to gently wrap snugly around the ear bud.

It is rare when the water enters the ear canal if you take these three steps you can enjoy the music much better. Once water gets in your ear you are hosed for the rest of the swim and that goes for any ear piece. Hope this helps been buying all sorts of waterproof MP3 for years since they first came out and believe me went through the gamut on these and read many dumb reviews, so I hope this sheds lights on these products and helps. Happy swimming!

Seems to work OK. Like others have said, no display but we knew that. Great bass through the little ear pieces. Also works with other ear phones I have. I don't swim with it but use it in gym. The others I had were not waterproof and constantly were shorting out.

Update 3/3/2018 - Piece of junk locked up. Nothing I do makes it play, stop or anything. Red light constantly on. I did NOT even take it underwater, just used in gym and jogging. Piece of junk. Do not buy.

I use it both in the pool and and in the air. Battery life is excellent. I wish it had a function when you can loop and replay one song.If you swim fast though, the ear tips might get displaced and the sound will become extra muffed and almost not audible. Because of these two reasons I give it 4 stars.
Update. After half a year of use the player unfortunately died on me most likely because water got inside it. I contacted the seller and they told me that the product is under a 1 year warranty and replaced gave me a replacement code that I have just used to get a replacement. Very highly impressed by the service. They recommended to dry the device very carefully before charging it. "As we mentioned before, after you use in the water, please Wipe the MP3 off completely especially throw water away from the ear jack and then leave the MP3 at room temperature to dry until no moisture remains on the MP3 before you start connect computer to download songs or start charging, otherwise it will damage the product."

The Sigomatech 8GB swimming mp3 player is a “must-have” for the lap or marathon swimmer. The device is light-weight and easy to operate. The clip, which will attached to one’s goggles, can also be attached to clothing or the straps of backpacks. This product has versatility beyond swimming and can be used with activities in which you might get wet. Skiing or kayaking comes to mind. The control buttons have been designed with raised ridges that are perfect for wet finger-tips. The player is elegant in its design. No rough edges and very smooth to touch. Once you read the operating instructions, you can operate the player without looking. This is desirable when it is attached to your goggles. The player does not require a driver to be loaded for your computer. The ear-plugs have conic shapes that keeps water out. Also, the splashing that you hear while swimming is reduced so that the music can be enjoyed. It mimics a noise cancelling experience while in splashing water. I enthusiastically recommend this player for it ease of operation, quality of sound while swimming, and price.

The maximum volume is too low. It can't be heard during swimming not unless you decide to hold your breath and make swim absolutely quiet!
It is not just the headphone. I tried it with different headphone and no luck. The volume won't go up after you turn it up to about two thirds the remaining one third do not increase the volume.
It is a nice mp3 player otherwise. It works like any other mp3 player and the fast forward and backward help when listening to an audiobook.
