Product Description

The world's most powerful Console. Games play better on Xbox One x. With 40% more power than any other Console, experience immersive true 4K gaming. Blockbuster titles look great, run smoothly, and load quickly even on a 1080p screen. Xbox One x also works with all your Xbox One games and accessories as well as Xbox live, the most advanced multiplayer network, giving you more ways to play. Broadband internet required (ISP fees apply). online multiplayer requires Xbox live Gold subscription (sold separately - ISP fees may apply)

Do I need a 4K TV to benefit from the Xbox One X?

No. The power provided by the Xbox One X allows developers to use techniques like supersampling, anisotropic filtering, and others to produce a better 1080p image. Additionally, games will have the ability to run at higher framerates and with faster load times.1

What is supersampling?

Supersampling is a technique game developers can use to improve graphical fidelity. By utilizing the additional power of the Xbox One X, developers can process images at a higher resolution, and then scale them down to fit the display resolution the player is using. Supersampled images reduce aliasing (commonly referred to as "jaggies") and generally look "cleaner" to the naked eye compared to a non-supersampled image at the same resolution.

Will my current controllers and accessories work with Xbox One X?

All Xbox One accessories (controllers, headsets, chatpads, remotes, etc.) will work with Xbox One X. Kinect for Xbox One is also compatible with Xbox One X via the Xbox Kinect Adapter (sold separately).

Will there be two different versions of games—one for the Xbox One S and one for the Xbox One X?

No. There will be one version of all games and they will work on all Xbox One consoles.

DO. NOT. BUY. Not right now, at least. Here's My Take, As to why.
1 Star
DO. NOT. BUY. Not right now, at least. Here's My Take, As to why.
First off, the original review was 2 stars, I'm changing this to one, purely because of the fact that it wasn't what's advertised, on top of the fact more people will see this. Now, I'm not sure what I should say here. I'm torn at the moment. I bet you're asking, why? I'll start from the beginning. Let's go back in time, a few months, around early June. I was in the market for a One X, Forza was relevant and hot within my group, and I needed an upgrade from my Xbox 360. This was an extremely odd phase for Microsoft, as almost no One X's could be found new from their site. I took a peek at Microsoft's pricing as well. It was considerably lower than comparable vendors. All right, fine. This is about the period I would be scouring the internet, high and low, as I didn't want a One S, as that was seemingly an Xbox One in color, white, which I see as boring, and tasteless. If that's your thing, go for it, but I'm not feeling it. ESPECIALLY with the "all-digital" variation. So one day, I gave up after searching for long. Hard throughout more trusted distributors (i.e., Target, Best Buy, Even Gamestop), I eventually settled on Amazon of all places. Of course, I knew something of a rarity, especially being discontinued, would lead to some 'loose ends' somewhere, boy, I was right on that. I ordered with blind faith, ultimately hoping for the best. Order received. Great! Now I've got a One X on the way, an abnormally long shipping estimate, so just like any kid in a candy store would do, I start digging through the internet trying to learn every single thing about this Console. I see many reviews, unboxings, impressions, and I'll be honest, It's got me in a very excited state. The shipping date changes. It comes a few days early. Great! However, the package requires a signature. Ok. I'll get home from work, and I'll play on my Xbox and get lost in the immersive gaming experience! Let's say that's not what happened... Fortunately, someone was at my place when the Xbox came in, so it was signed for, thank god. All right! I open the box, and I'm blown away! It's such a clean looking professional box. That's great! As the Console had been discontinued at this point, I felt like the luckiest guy in the world. I opened the box; however, from my seller, I could tell this was substantially different from the Microsoft experience, at least as far as I was concerned. I was missing My Xbox Live Gold, My Documentation, Everything! But I didn't know about this at the time. Little did I know as well. My warranty was already missing a majority of its lifespan. I open the box, I take extra care as not to damage anything, The Console seems to be in really nice physical condition, weighs a lot as expected, but something feels off, "Seattle -> You" badge seems really sloppy, I take it was likely refurbished with a Chinese case after some heavy use, or a very careless/'unknowing as to how to care to it' ownership. Not a problem. To me, It's just an Xbox that got lost in quality control, oh well. Well, I got everything plugged in. It started. However, I noticed something... odd... The startup '4K Chip' Scene was extremely laggy. I tested this on my 4K TV and my 1080p monitor. Same result. Odd. This detail wasn't a problem. On Reddit, others said this could occur after just a few days. I downloaded Forza Horizon 4. I had played FH4 on PC for a while. I bought this Xbox to use multiplayer as my PC was inoperable in that field. I have a decent computer, so I know how lovely the graphics are. After getting all of my content synced, I was able to play. Now, I get this was a 400 dollar console new, but this didn't look very good. Constant stuttering, like it, had been hit with a hammer a few times for sure. I wasn't sure what to expect, considering I was so new in this field, but with bold claims like "Xbox One X Enhanced," among others, I was expecting a little better. Marketing hoo-ha (Read till the end, I'm not nitpicking) as far as I'm concerned. Now, This is all right. I bought Xbox Live Gold as it was an excellent deal at the time. Now, I started downloading other things and testing features. My controller was nice. I liked the way it felt for sure. That's one of the nice parts about the One X I received. I also read that there was a 4K Blu-Ray Player on board, so that's pretty awesome. I tried it out with a generic DVD. It was a brand new movie. I put the disc in. I felt a little resistance at first, oh well. It went in; the movie looked nice, what a nice feature! I pulled the disc out to put it away, well, unfortunately, It's scratched. Not sure if it was the quality of the CD or what, live and learn is what they say. As I experimented, I realized I didn't have a good home for this Xbox, It didn't work as advertised, and I let it stand for a while. I just had zero urge to play. I was ultimately depressed. I spent this much money on a used piece of junk. I put it in the box and left it in the corner for a while. Now, This is one of the EXTREMELY RARE stories that has both sides of the story. Shortly after, I was browsing Microsoft again for one of these, even though I thought it was going to be the same result. *Add to Cart* Are you telling me, I can buy a new one of these... from Microsoft? I dropped everything I was doing and bought it on the spot for 38 dollars less than the one from Direct Distributor. Great! The best part? One. Day. Delivery. That was AMAZING to have it overnighted for 15 dollars shipping. You can tell I was likely pretty excited. I unboxed it, and It had all the documentation I wanted, plus extra! Now, this Console was a late 2017 model, which I've heard are pretty prone to overheating. I bought a vertical stand for it, similar to the one from Project Scorpio. It gives the Console enhanced airflow. At this point, from my old Console to this, with a cooked graphics card on the original, I take extra precautions every time I use this one. It has it's own corner, and it gets moved to the center of the desk every time it has the lovely time of being used. Now, This one has ZERO lag on startup. It was AMAZING! I got Forza installed, it runs almost perfectly, not PC level, but It's nice. I have about 50 hours into it now. I play it less these days because of time restraints; however, It was night and day difference. Skyrim runs awesome, of course. The Blu-Ray is even better (and doesn't bite). The controller was revision #1, so not the same. However, a controller is much easier to replace than a whole unit, especially discontinued. I still believe I got an Xbox One X from the last batch Microsoft will ever sell. On top of this, My warranty was in full, and I've got my whole Console again. The wifi is smooth, the browsing is great, and this thing is my queen, practically. What should you take from this? Well, from the time of writing this, The Xbox Series S is 300 and will be up for preorder seven days from now, available right in time for the holidays. SO MUCH POWER for so little money, The Series X costs less than a wild card Xbox One X on here. Now, Here's The Verdict.Seller: Being Direct Distributor, They had some EXTREMELY high ratings, which was lovely; however, I believe that this was an incredibly irresponsible and wrong decision on their end to send a console labeled NEW as a poor refurb. However, Even though I missed the return date, on top of the fact they say you're not allowed to return game consoles, they gave me all my money back after being in limbo for a few days. Incredible experience overall, so I hate them and love them at the same time. The Console: I'm saying this from the perspective of my NEW One X from Microsoft. It's an AMAZING console, a significant upgrade as far as the 360 goes. It's so much different than my, so quiet, so powerful, and a dream to use.Right Now: Don't buy this Console, anywhere. It's far too expensive, it's dated hardware, and it offers an older design that in the 2017's is prone to overheating failure, don't bring me back to that issues on the 360. No good. However, I would go for the Series S, 300 dollars for Next-gen stuff? Or 12 Teraflops on the Series X for 63 dollars less than "New" asking on here right now? No thanks. Save yourself the money, and buy something even better. Thanks For Reading.Name: Jake O'MalleySeller: Direct Distributor

Pattern Name: SingleVerified Purchase
Before i even try and explain if this is worth the $500 price tag
One thing every consumers needs to know before buying this particular version of the Xbox One
If you do NOT have a Ultra HD tv/4K tv save your cash do Not buy this.......
This is pretty much Microsoft version of the XBox One Pro
It's main selling point is 4K content
save your money for a 4k tv then after the Holiday hype/push get this Console when you have a 4K tv and it's given a proper SRP
Some gamers are being extremely dishonest and saying you don't need a 4k tv to enjoy this version of the XBox One
It's ideal for a 4k tv/monitor

This is the fourth Xbox One I've bought in less then 4 years which is crazy
I'll openly admit as a consumer I've been a "mark" plenty of times this generation
But, to be fair this generation has been horrible all around between Console Companies, shady developers, "crowdfunded games", and the Toxic Internet trolls each one of us have made this generation really average in general and help make the gaming industry worse in the long run!

The XBox One S should have been the real first version of the XBox One released in 2013 But, MS made a number of huge missteps and let the Internet dictate there "Brand"
The last 4 years have been anti-climatic to say the least on every platform
With the internet having a lot more damaged then good for all consumers
All gamers should be on the same page But, it's not that way everyone is to busy fighting over Frames Per second, or picture resolution
Brand loyalty should go so far
Fast Forward to November 7th 2017 and you have the One X aka XBox One 4k Pro

This is for now the most powerful console until the next Generation begins (2-3years from now)
Is it worth the somewhat high SRP
Yes and No

Cons:
You should have a Ultra HD tv this system is built around 4K
If you have a 1080p HD tv stick with the Xbox One or XBox One S
It's a massive waste of money to own this now if you don't have the tv it's made for

Have a middle of road Home Theater
with two different audio choices in digital optical and HDMI Audio
You should have a Home Theater set-up
Playing some of these game with DTS sound or Higher enhances the experience 10x
almost 1/2 the games during this generation have better pure audio then some of the biggest summer movie block busters

The HDMI Cable is cheap much like the cable that was bundled with the XBox One S
You'll need a 4K High-Speed HDMI as of late they are dirt cheap at the most you should spend $20 on a replacement Cable
You'll need a 4k High-Speed HDMI cable to get the most out of your console and tv

1TB might sound like a lot it's not
Make sure you have at least one 4-5tb external Hard Drive
The 4k Patches are insanely huge
The Quantum Break 4K enhanced patch is almost 200GB
Titanfall 2 68.7GB,
Wolfenstein 2 51.5BG,
The Evil Within 2 29.7GB,
Tekken 7 43GB,
Rise of the Tomb Raider 30.5GB,
Mass Effect: Andromenda 45.5GB,
Mafia III 50.2GB,
L.A. Noire 17GB (which is a pretty much 4k up scaled) ,
Homefront: The Revolution 45.5GB,
Gears of War 4 107GB,
Halo 5 98.3GB
Doom 58.7GB,
Dishonored 2 54GB,
Dead Rising 4 59.1 GB,
Assassin's Creed: Origins 43GB,
Killer Instinct 47.1 GB,
Just Cause 3 47.2GB,
Ghost Recon: Wildlands 52.4GB,
Agents of Mayhem 45.4GB,
Injustice 2 31.8GB,
Resident Evil 7 20.4GB

The disc tray has been moved more toward the bottom of the unit
I don't like the location just seems weird to me maybe it's my OCD?

Assassins Creed Origin broke out the gate
It looks amazing but, the audio is broken If you were going to get this wait until it gets fixed

Pros:
a free trial of Xbox Game pass is offered out of the box
MS Game Pass is super impressive you pay $10 a month for a laundry list of games from the XBox360 and XBox One
This is a must if you are a gamer on a budget or have children (The list is actually very good)
When it first launched it got a lot of negative criticism not sure why it's not for everyone but, if you are on a budget it's a no brainier

a free week of Xbox Live

No power brick (Much like the Xbox One S this version just has a power cord) which might not sound that Important unless you had
the first couple of incarnations of the Xbox One they each had this bulky heavy power brick which can effect your tv/gaming set-up

The ultra HD Player/drive is a nice extra if you are into movies
A great selling point for the Ultra HD Disc format they are region free
There are some killer Ultra HD Imports like the Original Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Suspiria (Original) Neon Demon to name a few stand out imports
Also Amazon Prime video has really upped there game in there exclusive 4k content

The gaming Library is impressive
You can play Original XBox Games,
(The Original XBox titles is a bit small but, a number of great choices
Dead to Rights, Black, Blood Rayne 2, Crimson Skies and a few more
The only real draw back with these OG XBox titles is the Graphics look really nice But, the Format is 4:3
XBox 360 on the b/c list has only gotten better within a years time
Some titles get a graphic bump example: Alan Wake, Gears of War: Judgement, Red Dead Redemption &
Injustice, (You could put the 360 version of Injustice playing on the XBOne side by side with the PS4 Port of Injustice and can Not tell the difference!)
and XBox One games on the console

**** The Power is real****
The over the top trailers and tv spots using Kanye West song Power at first made me cringe
But, it does live up to all the hype and boy is there hype
The only two things most people need to realize with these spots/adds
AC Origin is amazing looking but, horribly broken (The audio is really jacked-up which effects the over all game play)
A story driven open world game should have audio not have massive chunks of dialog drop-out
Cuphead is massive smoke, mirrors and Hype!
Cuphead isn't enhanced at all and still is beyond hard! (The game is only featured in some of the tv adds due to the amounts of units the game sold) as amazing as that game truly is it's also supper overrated and not for casual gamers
Every other enhanced/4k patch truly cranks every game to 15
Rise of The Tomb Raider,
Quantum Break,
Mafia 3,
Injustice 2,
The Evil Within 2
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition
All become Super high end 4k games that are stunning....... These 6 games are also not being pushed/mentioned as 4k titles which is a real shame
The XBox One version of BioShock Infinite also looks jaw-dropping (It could pass as a high end PC Port) with much better sound since most PC elitist don't even have any type of real home theater sound hooked-up to there gaming rig

This console is a solid price (You'd have to drop 4x's this amount for a High End PC that does what the One X can do
and PC's can have many more issues between problem installing the disc
To viruses on your PC's
Gaming Consoles are not known for getting any type of viruses
It's a solid home gaming console if you have a 4K tv and like MS exclusives 9.2/10
Microsoft exclusives have been mostly very good But, MS has done a horrible job promoting anything unless it's Halo, Gears of War, and Forza
While legit HQ titles like Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Re-Core, and Super Lucky's Tale are all treated like the red headed stepchild

I'd rate the Xbox One X a 4 1/2 star, but since that isn't possible on the Amazon rating system, I'll go ahead and award this console a 5-star.

I had no intention of purchasing the Xbox One X because I'm an owner of a PS4 Pro and a high-end gaming PC that's equipped with a GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid. But my wife wouldn't take no for an answer when I told her that I didn't want anything for my birthday, so I gave in :D.

The console is smaller than its predecessors, but it's surprisingly heavy. The design is sleek, which I find far more attractive than the sandwich-design of the PS4 Pro. Compared to Sony's DS4, I much prefer the feel and look of the Xbox One controller, especially in FPS games. However, I still do not understand why Microsoft is so reluctant to include a rechargeable battery pack for the controller or a micro-USB cord (the PS4 comes with both!). I have a handful of micro-USB cords lying around, but they defeat the purpose of the wireless functionality of the controller. I don't want to spend money on freaking AA batteries whenever they run out of juice. And I sure as hell don't want to spend extra on rechargeable battery packs. The Xbox One X is $500! FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! With that premium price, at least make the controller rechargeable like the DS4.

In terms of performance, the X is indeed a monster, but not the kind that Microsoft would like you to believe. Despite their claim that this console can deliver "true 4k," the X utilizes the same checkerboard technology of the PS4 Pro, albeit with a higher resolution. If you are still uncertain, you can look up videos by Digital Foundry, who delves into great technical detail regarding the performance of the Xbox One X. The console's 6 teraflop video card is very powerful for a gaming device of its kind, but it pales in comparison to what's currently available in the GPU market. Games that were released in the last three years will look incredible and perform well on the X due to the higher horsepower. But AAA titles are becoming more hardware demanding every year, so it'll be interesting to see how the Xbox One X carry itself in the next 2-4 years, assuming the console cycle will last that long. In the meantime, however, all multi-platform games will undoubtedly look better on the X than they will on the PS4 Pro.

But sadly, Microsoft's library of exclusive games is anemic. While Sony continues to push out enticing previews of upcoming exclusive games, Microsoft backpedals to the games of the past. The list is quite vast, but most of the Xbox 360 games that I own and want to play have yet to be made backwards compatible, which renders the functionality completely pointless at this time. As a long time ardent fan of the Halo series, I would love to play Halo: Reach with an Xbox One X enhanced visuals, HDR, and 60fps. But given 343 Industries' peculiar reluctance to support the fan favorite Halo game, I highly doubt that Reach will ever receive the upgrade that it deserves. So please, Microsoft and 343, do yourselves and the fans a favor: give Halo: Reach, one the best Xbox 360 exclusive titles, an Xbox One X Enhancement!

Regardless of Microsoft's misleading claims, the X packs quite a bit for $500. Unlike the PS4 Pro, the Xbox One X is equipped with a 4k HDR Blu-ray player, which alone retails for $200. Thus, the console is a very well rounded home device, and it also gives me a reason to start collecting movie DVDs again. And in 4K HDR! Combine all this with my new LG 43UJ63 that I purchased recently, my setup is practically complete!

My final criticism regarding the X is its limited storage capacity. 1TB may seem large, but it will fill up extremely fast due to the 4K assets of enhanced games.

5.0 out of 5 stars This isn't a "True 4K" console, despite what Microsoft claims. But it is an incredible machine nonetheless.

I was pretty hesitant with buying a console second hand, especially online. But I checked the supplier and noticed there was over 1,000 reviews about them, all highly positive and felt a little more safe.
The Xbox was listed as “like new”. For conditioning. A term used by all retailers and all retailers having their own perception of “like new”.

Very happily surprised to see that the console was genuinely new. Not a single scratch, dent, chip, mark. Even the cables had their coiled state. I actually feel the product was undersold if anything.

But I’m incredibly happy with the purchase, it came within a few days, securely packaged and even a free game chucked in kindly. Will definitely be looking at their games section in the future. Thank you The_Game_Demon !

Edit: 06/10/2021
I’d purchased an Xbox One X about 5 months ago from the Seller, virtually new and had no issues with the product, not a scratch, dent or mark. It was pretty much out of the box and ran with no issues. I’d argue that it was a mint condition console than a like new. But unfortunately, it stopped working recently. I looked at some common issues to see what it might have been, a damaged HDMI port or something given the state of what I knew did and didn’t work.
I searched for my warranty as a back up plan and couldn’t find that, contacted the Seller to double check and it turned out I skipped out on buying it in the first place.

The Seller; Paul had been very kind and asked me to send the Xbox back to be examined by their Tech Team. So I sent it off and Paul’s kept in constant contact with me throughout the process.
The issue was identified as a common fault of the One X. The GPU had burnt out which effected the entire motherboard. That happened to be extremely unfortunate for both of us and Paul had very generously replaced the entire motherboard for me.

I believe that the Seller and their team had no obligation to take my issue upon themselves but it goes beyond me to find the generosity of any Seller on Amazon who’s take the time and care to fix a problem that wasn’t theirs.

I cannot thank Paul and the team enough for their kindness and helping me out at a time like this and I’ll soon be back to testing the Indie scene and reviewing again. Absolutely wonderful people to have had the pleasure talking to. So thank you Paul and the Tech Team.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate XBox
Reviewed in Canada on January 29, 2018

So, this is my second XBox. I have been a PC gamer since the mid-90s, but when I upgraded to a 4K TV in the fall of 2016, I bought an XBox One S along with it, because it was able to handle 4K Netflix, YouTube and had a 4K Blu-Ray player built-in. Well, I started enjoying the console the gaming experience as well, so I decided to upgrade to the One X for 4K gaming. I am really impressed with the system. The interface and app switching was smooth on the S, but on my new X, it is blazing fast! The system gets warm and moves more air than you think, but the fans are quiet - you need to make sure that it has enough room to breathe. Do NOT shove it inside of a small, enclosed cabinet or it will surely die. I'm amazed at how small it is, even when compared to the One S, which was already significantly smaller than the original XBox One. The picture and sound quality are excellent, just as they were on the S.

I only have 2 very minor gripes with the XBox: 1) there is no VR system (YET!), and 2) you can't swap out the internal hard drive for a larger one. Adding a USB 3.0 hard drive as secondary or tertiary storage is really easy, so I have to give Microsoft kudos for that. But, I recently helped a friend upgrade their 500Gb PS4 to 2Tb of internal storage, and for those of us who bring our systems with us when we travel, this is much more convenient.

I know that there are a lot of flame wars between PC gamers (the "PC master race"), the PS4/PS4 Pro community, and the XBox communities, but I want to address WHY I bought the XBox One X. Since I was new to the console eco-system as a whole in November 2016, I originally chose an XBox One S, as I said, for the 4K media centre experience - specifically, the built-in 4K (3-D capable) Blu-Ray player. Since then, I have started to enjoy console gaming with a controller (heresy, I know) and decided to upgrade to the X for 4K gaming. I do own a PC, with decent specs and an NVidia GTX 780 graphics card - which can only really accomplish 1080p gaming. In order to upgrade my PC to 4K gaming, I would need to at least upgrade the graphics card. Well... that should have been the same price as an XBox One X, except for the current crypto-currency mining shenanigans, which have nearly doubled the price of graphics cards. So, that's why I chose an XBox One X over an upgrade to my PC. As for why I chose XBox over the PS4 or a PS4 Pro - this came down to three things for me: 1) No Blu-Ray player in the PS4, 2) XBox "Play Anywhere" - the ability to pay ONCE for a digital game that can play on either my XBox or my Windows 10 PC, and 3) the PS4 doesn't have HALO. Yes, I know that the PS4 has a ton of great exclusive games, but if I was buying a console, I was going to have HALO. :)
