I am updating my review for my Netvue security cameras. I have 4 cameras that have been installed for 2 months, and I am very satisfied with the quality of these cameras. I also had to work with their customer service team and found them very capable. Netvue is a quality organization with quality products.
I recently purchased the Netvue Vigil Bullet security camera to check the quality of the video capture, camera photos and customer service of this product. Here’s what I found after evaluating this security camera for 2 weeks, inside and outside of my home.
• Ordering from Amazon was simple and delivered in 2 days using Amazon Prime.
• Everything I needed was in the box, along with simple instructions on setup and installation.
• The camera is delivered with the ability to take ‘photographs’ only. If you want video capture you must do 1 of 2 things:
o Purchase and install a micro SD card, or subscribe to cloud service. I put in an SD card, very simple to do.
• We used Wi-Fi rather than run Ethernet to the camera. We have a large house and our existing Wi-Fi signal was strong enough, without a Wi-Fi booster, at the inside and outside locations.
• The motion detectors work well and give you options on the level of sensitivity you want, and location within the camera view for monitoring motion. I adjusted these options differently when the camera was inside vs outside, and was pleased with the results.
• The picture quality is what I expected for a 1080P camera, and the audio was better than I expected, it was crisp and clear.
• I contacted their customer support a couple of times using 2 different methods they have available on their ‘Netvue App’. I used both their ‘Live Chat and Email’ options and received a timely response along with useful information regarding my questions.
• I’ve included a few photos of how the camera adjusts during the dusk to dawn time period with the IR LED.
I am very pleased with the quality of this security camera, and the company’s customer support team.

Two Methods for Video Storage
NETVUE employs AWS ( Amazon Web Service) cloud for storing your videos, live footage and motion videos will be uploaded to the AWS Cloud and are accessible for 14 and 30 days respectively. Those videos could be repeated easily and downloaded onto your phone.
You can also use max 128G micro SD card to store and replay videos recorded by this outdoor security camera
Alexa Compatibility
NETVUE bullet camera could work with Alexa on live video and motion detection playback. You can view the live video by voice control when you get motion alerts but too busy to use the phone.

Disappointed with this camera. ***UPDATED***
We have had a camera at our front door for over a year. We don't pay for cloud service, we just use the software that came with it. Our previous camera was made by Fredi. I loved the camera and image quality but the software was not great. We signed up for a new internet service provider and when taking our old camera down to updated the wifi we accidentally broke it. So the search was on for a new camera. I was just going to order the same one to replace it but figured I would see if something better was out there. I found this camera and really liked that it can have cloud service but it's not required and the specs met what I was looking for. So it showed up and was easy to install in the same old spot we had our other one. It took my husband almost an hour to connect it to our wifi because it just wasn't being found. He finally gave up, was about to take it down and pack it up to send back and suddenly the connection started working. So great, yeah, here we go! Well I quickly discovered unlike my old camera I could not pan around at all. What this means is that I have a choice, I can either face it at my front door to see who is there, or I can face it out towards the driveway to see who is coming. But it won't cover both. My old camera allowed me to drag my finger around the screen so I could see who was standing at the front door or who was walking by. I was bummed with this but the software (when working) is a little more intuitive with the Netvue so I decided to give it a chance. So next day someone is at the door. I go immediately to the app and the camera is offline for no apparent reason. I'm not happy so I check about 10 more times that day and it's offline about half the time I check. We had no internet outages so it makes no sense. The final straw is the night quality is terrible. My last camera was crystal clear at night. This one is useless if you need to make out a person in the dark. It also speeds up the recording so everything is a blur. Even if you slow it down pause it's a blur (see image). If I was trying to figure out who this person was in my image it would be pointless. This one's getting packed up and sent back. If you just need a camera on an exact angle, only for the daytime and don't care that it will be offline half the time then this might work for you. For me it's a no and it's going back.***UPDATE***Netvue contacted me to try and reslove any issues which made me feel better that the company cares. I really like the software for this camera and how easy it is to look at events. I can't find anything else in this price range that does that. So... I decided to hold off on sending this back and see what I could do. So I had some settings wrong and our wifi wasn't configured properly on our end not the cameras. So once that was fixed I have had no issues for the last 48 hours with the camera being offline when I check it. I've decided to keep it and give it some time. I'm still not thrilled with the night clarity but daytime is fine. I also still don't like that I can't pan around with the camera but the excellent software viewing balances out that complaint. So my above review is unfair in that it was partly my fault setting it up, not the product.

Best bang for the buck
I didn't know what to expect. I purchased two of these to monitor the private dirt road that we own. They are placed on the side of the detached garage. One camera points toward south and the other north. I was pleasantly surprised how good these cameras are, especially during the day.king-of-reviewsBest bang for the buck

A year+ later here are my quick pros and cons.
Pros:
1. Relatevely cheap to purchase a camera
2. 24/7 recording without a subscription is amazing feature
3. The app is easy to use
4. Camera is easy to setup
5. Their cloud plans are super cheap
Cons:
1. Nightmode, you do need alternative lighting to properly see people inside of vehicles and or plates
2. Cool-down is 5 mins with no subscription
3. To get 0 min cool-down, you need to get a subscription, the only problem is if you live in remote area and don't have access to proper internet, there is no way to turn cloud event uploading off. If they could make that modification, I'd get a subscription just to get 0 min cool-down, and have the events record on the sd-card and not cloud.
Overall, I'm very pleased, and will be getting more cameras.

Good security camera for the price
The camera is good and and is working as intended. The app is also clean and nice. These security cameras were good and reliable that I bought another one that was on sale. One problem that sticks with me is that when I open the security camera in the app the noise is pretty loud and abrupt so I wish the sound is muted at the start.RichardGood security camera for the price
