I received my Nostalgia hotdog warmer in the mail yesterday. The warmer tray was already in place, and all I had to do was put the canopy poles in, and put the rollers in, which went in really easily. The instructions were really straightforward, and I followed them, turning the heat to Max and letting it warm up for 3 minutes. I put my dogs on (I use Nathan's hotdogs, which are the best, in my opinion), and although they have a bit of a square shape, rotated just fine on the rollers from the beginning. I kept them on for 17 minutes, which was long enough to cook them through and get a nice color, plumpness and sizzle. Following the suggestions from other reviewers, I kept buns in a plastic bag in the bun warmer. The buns were not really all that warm from steaming, so I guess that would be the only negative thing (a small one at that) that I would say. The hotdogs tasted great. Compared to steaming them on the stove, boiling them on the stove and grilling them, this was superior in taste and texture (had that snap with every bite,m which was lacking with the other methods, and nice and plump and not overcooked or dried out, which happened with grilling). After letting it cool down, I took the roller unit off, wiped it down, and took out the drip tray and wiped it down. Easy-peasy. Worked great, easy to set up, easy to clean, and hotdogs tasted great. I am having an outdoor movie party with a baseball theme, and this is not only going to work great, it is going to look really cool on my "concessions" table. Based on my experience thus far, I am very glad I purchased this.

Best way to cook hotdogs
I won’t eat hotdogs unless I cooked it on here! I’m a huge lover of gas station hot dogs that are made on a rolling grill much like this, which is why I bought this to attempt to create the juicy evenly roasted snap of a hot dog I’ve only found at gas stations. This definitely isn’t a quick way to cook your hot dogs if you’re looking for a quick snack. I preheat my grill for about 10 minutes on 3/4 heat and then I leave them on the grill for at least 45 minutes to cook to my taste. This comfortably fits 8 regular sized hotdogs. I found the quality of the brand of hotdogs you use matter, for a unbeatable dog I use Nathan’s. I like my hot dogs to be very cooked but I don’t like splitting which is why I keep it on 3/4 heat but you could do full heat if you don’t mind splitting. The bun warmer doesn’t really work it’s way too high up for the heat to hit, I’d recommend simply microwaving the buns for a few seconds. Very easy to clean I just wash the rollers and let them dry and I wash the grease tray. The bun warmer canopy easily disassembles for easy cleaning.

Love it! So cute and perfect to enjoy hot dogs with the family. It super easy to use, clean, and it doesn't takes much space. I bought the hot dogs trays as well. Already used for gatherings, movies and even our trip. My little one enjoyed the colors and flavor. It takes like 12 to 15 minutes to be fully cooked.

... as a gift for my wife who loves her hot dogs. She had hinted at one of these though, so it wasn't genius on my part. She was thrilled. Only Xmas present I ever gave her that she repeat-comments on. Strange how things work out.
I avoided those cheaper ones and didn't want the industrial ones, so settled on this.
The unit itself seems nice. Pre-washed everything. I set it up easy peasy.
Followed the directions and it makes wonderful dogs with that kinda light, crusty exterior.
I left my second dog on longer and felt I got the genuine gas station experience.
Easy to clean. Worth every penny.
Only gripes are:
1. The drip tray having too low a lip when you leave the dogs on longer, there is more drip.
My cheddar dogs definitely leaked.
2. The bun warmer turns the buns "crispy" (crusty?) not soft and gushy.
Gonna try some ideas on fixing that.
Overall we're delighted.
