I bought this in July 2021 to deal with cleaning up some cat messes, and have used it off and on maybe 10-15 times in the last 3.5 years. Overall, I've been relatively pleased with the results.General info... as many others have said, the tanks don't hold as much as you may want or as much as they seem to... the clean tank runs out fast even doing small areas, and the pickup tank will seal off and stop picking up when it's much less than half full... sometimes only an inch or two at the bottom of actual liquid, which means emptying and refilling often. Does it seem to pick up a lot of dirt and fill with dirty water? Yeah, it does... even on subsequent passes of the same area.But next issue... it's marketed as a pet carpet cleaner... but if you have cats and it's picking up hair... cat hair will build up inside the area around the brush, requiring you to flip the whole thing over to clean it out by hand, and it'll leave wads of wet cat hair all over as you go, on the carpet you're cleaning, on the wheels, on the bottom of the base, wedged up under the transparent front... everywhere... and yes, even if you already vacuumed. To it's credit, I partly attribute this to it doing a better job of picking up cat hair than my vacuum... but for a "pet" carpet cleaner it doesn't really handle pet hair well beyond gathering it into lumps in hard to clean areas or on the floor. It will also clog the red grate between the pickup tank and the base requiring removal of the tank to clean that too... but since you'll be emptying that frequently anyway... and refilling the clean tank frequently... might as well take the entire thing to a sink as a whole to clean it off every few minutes.Excess water... you really need to keep going over the same areas many times to really pick it all up... I keep watching the front and going over and over and over the same areas until I'm not seeing anything flow through, and it takes many SLOW passes. I liked the reviewer who said "If you think you're done, you're not" because that's definitely the case.But now today... got it out and went to use it, had gone over the same area several times already... and when briefly rolling from the carpet onto the linoleum floor in the kitchen, the sound it was making changed significantly, and it started to make a bad smell. Turned it off and checked the roller and found it partially seized up... rolled it a bit by hand and it kind of loosened up. Took it downstairs to the washbasin sink and the belt cover wouldn't come off... there was some black plastic sticking out of the side of that area that I thought looked like there had been something attached there that had broken off, but that wasn't the case. Turns out that seemingly out of nowhere the belt had somehow made it's way all the way to the inside edge of the housing... despite the little metal bumpers that seems to be in there as guides to prevent exactly that... and in 15 seconds or so, had completely chewed through the plastic sidewall where it was now wedged, and the bit that had appeared to be where something had broken off was actually where it had been shooting out melted/shredded plastic from the belt area throw the gap in the belt access door sidewall it had chewed through. No high pile carpet or shag or anything crazy, probably 15+ year old well-worn standard pile carpet.So yeah, kind of hassle in general, kind of disappointing to have to deal with this new issue... but on the plus side, they do make both replacement belts AND a replacement belt access cover available on their support site, so assuming nothing else is damaged, can likely get it back to working order.
