I purchased the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite as my first juicer. I researched juicers online before I made this purchase and I chose this one because it got good reviews, was stainless steel and most reviews said it was easy to clean. I juice twice a day and I figured if it wasn't easy to clean I would not use it. I have been very happy with this purchase. Here are what I see as pros and cons.
Pros:
- All stainless main unit. I prefer not to have plastic in contact with my food when it is possible to avoid due to chemicals (known and unknown) that can get into the food. The pitcher is plastic, which is probably unavoidable. But I can juice directly into a glass or another container and the stainless cleans up very easily.
- Fast. It is amazing how quickly I can turn a mountain of veggies and/or fruits into juice with this machine. Convenience is a big factor for me, because purchasing and washing the raw foods alone takes time and effort.
- Dual speed. This is definitely a plus because softer foods can fly into the pulp container without getting juiced at high speed while harder foods seem to generate more juice at high speed.
- Easy clean up. I can usually clean the entire unit in less than five minutes. The blade/strainer mesh requires scrubbing with the included brush but even that goes quickly. I usually sip my fresh juice while I am cleaning the unit.
- Large chute allows for minimal food prep - another time saver. Most items will go directly into the chute without a lot of cutting. I have to cut apples in half but I would take the seeds out anyway. Carrots, beets, celery, squash - they all easily go in whole.
Cons:
- Centrifugal juicers apparently aren't optimal for greens but I only use a few greens in my juicing plan anyway. As mentioned in other reviews, it works best if you wrap the leaves up tightly in another leaf and juice on slow. Even then, Kale seems to produce a very minimal amount of juice (although since this is my first juicer, I don't really have anything to compare it to). Cabbage works great in this juicer though since the leaves are usually densely packed around the core. From what I have read, someone interested in juicing primarily greens may want to consider a different type of juicer.
- The unit is large. I have a small kitchen and haven't figured out where to store the unit. I usually wash all the parts and leave them out to dry, which creates clutter. I haven't tried it in the dishwasher yet because I don't run the dishwasher frequently enough to use it for the juicer parts. Having a large, powerful unit is a benefit too and storage could be an issue with any unit.
- Sometimes smaller items like cranberries will jump out of the chute half chopped. I have learned to cover the top of the chute quickly after they go in. It doesn't do that great of a job juicing smaller items like this anyway because they seem to bounce off the spinning blade before you can push them down against the blade. Probably an issue with most centrifugal type juicers.
- Price. It isn't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. This is a very solid, well designed unit.
All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase. Most of the cons that I list aren't necessarily specific to this unit but to juicers in general. I would recommend to anyone looking for a top of the line device who isn't interesting primarily in juicing greens.

I have 3 of these beasts for a reason! This is an amazing juicer!
If you are thinking of buying a juicer and are not planning to juice lots of leafy greens (and of course, if you don't mind spending the extra money), DO NOT THINK TWICE. This is the juicer for you. As it is the case with all other Breville appliances, you definitely get what you are paying for.Immediately after you open the box you will notice the weight of this thing. It is heavy! It is sturdy! It is unbreakable(not quite, as I will describe later -- but it's pretty close to that)! I have been using my first 800JEXL daily for 3 years now and it still works like it did the first day.PROS----I'll refrain from listing all the pros of this juicer as you probably had an overdose of these by reading the other reviews. Let me skip to one almost-major con that I observed across all three juicers I own.CONS----There is a very annoying spot located at the joint of collection bin and juicer hood. This evil thing is the only disappointment I have with this juicer and the sole reason why I can't say this is a perfect machine. Every single time I am juicing something, a small amount of juice/wet pulp escapes through that small gap. Don't get me wrong, it's a very small gap that opens up between the plastic basket and the steel piece, but this juicer is so powerful that it always squeezes some stuff through that opening. In fact, the pressure build-up was so big once that some orange juice was actually shot into my eye as I was standing next to the juicer. I would be curious to know if anyone else has noticed this problem and if this is by any chance a design flaw.EDIT: After reading the troubleshoot section of the manual and finding this issue right at the top, I think I can safely assume that thousands of other people have the same issue. A user posted some great pictures illustrating this exact issue here as well.WORD OF CAUTION---------------Beware that the only thing covered by the warranty is the juicer's motor! Given that a lot of the marketing speech for this juicer is based on the fact that the filter basket is made of titanium, I'd say it should be a requirement for Breville to cover at least that part (in addition to the motor). Titanium or not, my filter basket once completely shattered under regular use. Yes... while it is true that the farmer who sold me those carrots might have planted a piece of metal inside one of them, if that was not the case, I might just be the first proud user to break this amazing filter basket while juicing a carrot (see my uploaded picture for an illustration of the disaster).Upon inquiring Breville for a replacement part and mentioning the fact that I have been a customer for several years as a collateral, they were very reluctant to provide me a new basket free of cost and kept telling me again and again that "accessories" are not covered by the warranty. After several days of insisting and back-and-fourth talks with customer service, they finally sent me a new basket.
