Is it safe to use on rugs installed over laminate flooring.

Answer This Question
I wouldn't risk it because even though you're shampooing the carpet the water and moisture may go to the bottom and warp or create humidity. Unless there was a waterproof liner between the laminate and the carpet then it would be ok.

It only cleans the carpet. It won't clean the laminate.

THANK YOU HOOVER
My GPop was hospitalized with Covid/Pneumonia and while he was admitted for a week I deep cleaned his house for him. It does kick up a lot of old smells (cigarettes etc) when cleaning at first, BUT it goes away shortly and the results are amazing. Thank you so so much for this AMAZING life changer!! Even with the larger tank, I did notice it still fills up really fast (but GPop also has carpets that haven't been cleaned in 20 years) the tank life I feel would last much longer if your carpets are already semi-clean... otherwise prepare for cleaning small areas at a time (1 room then have to dump) But then again, we have really dirty carpets so that most likely has to do with the frequent changes!!! 10/10 recommend!!!

Made dog diarrhea disappear
I woke up one morning to the sight and smell of my 110lb lab’s trail of diarrhea spanning my living room carpet. It was so much that my handheld cleaner broke just by looking at it. Bought this Hoover upright and couldn’t believe how well it works. 10/10

Absolutely IN LOVE!!!
My carpets were in desperate need of a deep clean because of my cats and dog. The area by the front door was absolutely disgusting. And my rug needed to be cleaned the pictures I've attached are from only cleaning the floors in one setting.

So easy to use
I just purchased this and used it this morning. I have used other brands and types and this one was the best!!!! So easy to use. So easy to clean. My carpet looks brand new. Other brands I had to add water and solution and empty the dirty container way too many times just on one carpet. I couldn’t believe how long I could keep cleaning without interruption. I would highly recommend this carpet cleaner. I give it a 5 star rating!!! The price was right too!!!!

Amazing!!!
This machine is AMAZING!
I was ready to pay $300 or more for a machine or simply hire a carpet cleaning company; discovered this one and WOW! It’s a best seller for a reason! I had the genius idea of potty training our kid during quarantine and the carpet took a hit! Along with having a dog it was time to put in the work cleaning our amazing high traffic carpet. Just get it! Use warm water, use the Hoover cleaning line of products and it will not disappoint. Also watch YouTube videos for a quick assembly.
Disclaimer: if you are lazy and will not keep up with the maintenance of this gem of a carpet cleaner simply don’t get it! Hire a company. Plan on adding an additional 25 minutes to cleaning all the parts, once you see all the disgusting water and hair collected there’s no way in earth you can store the machine until next use.

THE best carpet cleaner I've ever had the pleasure of using, hands down!
I ordered the Hoover Power Scrub Elite Pet Plus carpet cleaner after putting off cleaning our carpets for far longer than we should have. While I know you can rent them if you don't use one frequently, I prefer to own. I've owned several carpet cleaners in the past and this one, hands down, is the best I've ever used and will definitely be sticking with it in the future.
We have an infant and several pets and our carpets were taking abuse left and right. Pet dander and dirt were accumulating and stains were becoming rampant. It was a total eyesore to walk inside our home and see our carpets in this shape. After our previous carpet cleaner bit the dust, I decided to try this brand and model and let me say, it did NOT disappoint!
After the very first use, I could already tell a huge difference and three uses later, our carpets look almost like new again! My expectations at first were modest: I only expected this to lift the very basic of dirt and debris out of the carpet and for the bulk of the stains to remain, but I was completely blown away when I saw it took stains right out of the carpet, even ones that have long since settled in for years. It was so good at removing stains, I had to stop and take a picture of the "cleaned" and "dirty" carpets for illustration.
See the attached image: 24 hours after first cleaning pass and carpet had time to dry: carpet on the left was cleaned using the Hoover unit and carpet on the right had yet to be cleaned. You can clearly see the "line" where the unit was working its magic. The freshly cleaned carpets look so much brighter and rejuvenated. The water it collected in the waste bucket was a putrid, opaque brown color, very dark and disgusting. I had no idea this unit would pick up THAT much debris. This has worked wonders for our home and we have even noticed it smells better since the unit has probably removed many of the odors that were emanating from the carpets as well.
One thing to be noted is this is the first carpet cleaner I've owned where the unit mixes your clean water and cleaning solution for you; you are not personally responsible for measuring the cleaning solution and putting it directly into the clean water. The clean water tank on this unit is divided into two compartments: one inlet is designated for plain tap water to be poured in and the other inlet is designated for cleaning solution to be added. All previous carpet cleaners I've owned had me measure the amount of cleaning solution in a cup and then add directly into the clean water. This unit seems designed to know how to properly mix the solution and the water itself.
It's also the first unit I've ever owned that has a "rinse mode." There's a knob on the clean water tank that can be set to "Wash" or "Rinse." Instructions say "Wash" is to disperse the cleaning solution into the clean water that aids in washing carpet fibers and removing any embedded debris. Vice versa, "Rinse," just like it implies, is to rinse the carpets with the clean water only, no cleaning solution used in this mode. This can be handy if you prefer not to leave any potential cleaning solution behind in your carpets and want to thoroughly rinse it out. All other carpet cleaners I've used did not have such a feature and I was forced to always clean with both water AND the solution at the same time.
Working the unit is very intuitive and simple: pick which of the two cleaning modes you prefer (Quick vs Deep), ensure the waste collection bucket is empty and properly secured at the base of the unit, detach the clean water tank, and fill one inlet with tap water and add cleaning solution to the other inlet. Reattach the water tank to the top part of the unit and ensure the knob is set to "Wash." That's pretty much it, after that, plug it into a wall socket and you're good to go! In order to actually clean, the instructions say to squeeze the trigger and perform one "forward" motion on the carpet while walking slowly. When finished, go in reverse, or "backwards," while keeping your fingers squeezed on the trigger and still walking slowly. When finished, release the trigger and perform the same forwards and backwards slow-walking motion again in order to suck up any remaining water. When finished, if desired, change the knob to "Rinse" and perform the same forwards and backwards slow-walking motion again to rinse the carpet: once while squeezing the trigger and again without squeezing it. Change the knob back to "Wash" and repeat the whole process again on another section of carpet.
I love that it has two cleaning modes: Quick Clean and Deep Clean. The knob on the base of the unit allows you to control this. I use Quick Clean for when our infant or our pets have accidents and the stain is fresh. For a more detailed job, like annual spring cleaning, I switch it to Deep Clean to ensure I'm getting the most thorough clean the unit offers.
But, probably the best thing I can say about this unit, is that it allows you to detach most of the cleaning components to hand wash after every job. This is the one pro I simply CANNOT stress enough! This is the only carpet cleaner I've owned that allows you, to an extent, to disassemble the unit to easily clean components. The biggest con I've had with other carpet cleaners is that pet fur, carpet remnants, and other debris would eventually clog in the brushes, suction tubes, and other places that were near-impossible to clean. I can't tell you the number of hours I spent with a water hose, icepick, and other unconventional "tools" trying to unclog ungodly amounts of wet, smelly, disgusting globs of pet fur from under the unit and all up in the brushes. Probably my most hated aspect of carpet cleaners. This unit absolutely does away with all that headache. The transparent suction plate on the front base, the under frame holding all the brushes in place, and even the brushes themselves all detach so you can hand wash them. No additional tools are needed to detach and reattach them. This feature alone has saved me hours of frustration following a cleaning job!
I highly recommend hand washing the cleaning components this way after every cleaning job; it will help preserve the life of the unit. Some of these reviews where people are saying the unit worked great the first couple of times but then stopped working probably did not take the extra time to properly clean the unit following a job and more than likely have a fair amount of debris clogging the underside of their unit. Basically, if you take proper care of the unit, it will work wonders for you.
The only real complaint I have about this unit is I feel the waste collection bucket is too small. I find myself stopping mid-cleaning to remove the bucket, dump it, and reattach it far more frequently than I'd prefer to. It's not terrible, just mildly inconveniencing. All other carpet cleaners I've used had fairly large waste collection buckets and could go for a while before needing to be dumped. I have a relatively small 1,600 square foot house and for a standard cleaning where I do carpets in all rooms, I have to empty the bucket no less than 30 times. However, that is doing both a "wash" pass AND a "rinse" pass, so your mileage may vary.
All in all, for residential uses, I would highly recommend this unit to everyone. For me personally, this is the best under-$200 carpet cleaner I have ever owned and it has features that surpass all other carpet cleaners I've used.
PROS:
>Small and lightweight: Of all the previous carpet cleaners I've owned, this unit is the smallest and easiest to handle.
>Two cleaning modes: The two modes give you greater control over how thorough you want your cleaning to be: Quick Clean for a fast, less thorough clean and Deep Clean for a longer, more thorough cleaning.
>Attachable accessories: Comes with a bag of various accessories that attach to the base unit. Can be used for upholstery, stairs, and others. I have yet to personally try them so not sure how well they work but it's nice to have them nonetheless.
>Easily removeable parts: The front suction plate, the frame holding all the brushes in, and the brushes themselves are all removeable so they can be easily hand washed following use of the unit, and they reattach without any difficulty, no extra tools needed.
CONS:
>Waste collection bucket is too small: The bucket used to collect the "dirty" water is much smaller than I'd like it to be. I find myself stopping to empty it far more frequently than I have done with previous carpet cleaners. It'd be nice if they had a model identical to this but with a bucket two to three times larger.
>Have to frequently observe solution tank to know when it's near empty: This is a minor complaint, but since the solution tank is built into the clean water tank, there's really no way of knowing how much cleaning solution you have left beyond frequently looking down and observing how much is left. For me, it's easy to get into a trance and focus on the carpets and I'll forget to check how much cleaning solution I have left; sometimes I've let it go bone dry before realizing I need to add more and redo a section of carpet.
