Yamaha craftsmen have assembled spruce, mahogany and rosewood to form an instrument with excellent tone and playability that will inspire and encourage a player to pick this guitar up again and again! Yamaha classical guitar craftsmen learned the fine art of guitar making directly from the masters. Under the tutelage of Manuel Hernandez and Eduardo Ferrer, Yamaha guitar craftsmen acquired skills that have been handed down from master to apprentice for generations. These acquired skills are put to use every day in the making of Yamaha classical guitars. Through extensive analysis, research and experimentation, Yamaha has succeeded in blending the best and most critical aspects of traditional Spanish guitar making techniques with modern guitar manufacturing processes. These processes include a comprehensive quality check system that ensures each instrument is of the highest standards possible. As a result, Yamaha brings to you an instrument that delivers outstanding quality and performance, at a price that is hard to beat. The Yamaha C40 classical guitar is an excellent choice for the beginning guitarist.

C40 was the first acoustic guitar I had, yeeears ago. After unboxing I noticed 2 nicks on the top.. considering that I witnessed the delivery guy toss the guitar from the truck to the yard before jumping down, picking up the guitar and handing it to me without any apologies or signs of embarrassment I’d say the packaging and guitar has healed up nicely. You’ll want to get a few packs of strings.. these will last a week tops if your a daily player. For the money you can’t beat this guitar and for a beginner, I’d say this is the guitar you want.

Beautiful guitar. I have been playing acoustic guitar as an amateur for a few years but seriously began learning 6 months ago. This guitar was suggested by my teacher and I’m really happy with it. It has a rich and vibrant sound quality- soft strings that respond to a very light touch. All-in-all a beautiful guitar for a beginner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound and Comfort, but Some Drawbacks
Reviewed in Canada on October 15, 2023
I recently purchased this guitar and overall, I'm quite pleased with its performance. The sound quality is exceptional, and its lightweight design makes it easy to play for extended periods. Holding it is a breeze, contributing to an enjoyable playing experience.

However, it's important to note a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the absence of fret markers for 3-5-9 positions can be a bit inconvenient, especially for beginners. Additionally, while the overall string quality is decent, there's room for improvement as I've encountered some issues with their longevity.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the guitar's positive attributes make it a solid choice for players who prioritize sound quality and comfort.
