Hamilton Beach's drink mixers began appearing at soda fountains in 1911; this 14-1/2-inch-high, 70-watt model, in creamy green, recalls Elvis's first decade. But it's 21st-century, too, blending fruit smoothies and health drinks as well as milk shakes and malted milks. Also use it to mix puddings and beat eggs for omelets. Two speeds offer mixing flexibility, and the tilting head makes it easy to remove the spindle for cleaning. This is a great milkshake mixer. It is neat and clean and makes the milkshake light and fluffy. It is fast and easy to use. Plus the cleanup is a breeze. Just pull out the mixing spindle and wash and dry it. Then wipe down the surface of the mixer stand with a damp cloth. It comes with a stainless steel cup for mixing. That is neat and easy to clean as well. I recommend this gem to anyone liking old-time milkshakes with malt and other nice treats mixed into them.

My 17 yr old autistic son loves milkshakes. I’ve always had to make them for him because our vitamix is too difficult for him to operate. We bought him this for Christmas and it’s been his favorite present this year. It’s functional and easy to use with just one switch. The metal cup has volume lines so he knows just how much ice cream and milk to add. After some instructions, he learned how to put the cup securely in place and now he can make his own milkshake for desert. Putting in and removing the removable plastic whisking blade can be difficult at times but if you use both hands, one to hold the device and the other to insert/remove the blade, you can do it. Just needs a little extra elbow grease. This has been a real confidence booster for my son’s self reliance.

I have a nice Hamilton Beach Model 30 mixer from the 40's, built like a tank and has worked flawlessly for decades, and it heavy. and solid. I thought a new one would be better for everyday use, so I got this.This does the job, but the shaft is much flimsier and moves in the socket. The tip and cup holder are plastic, not metal like the older one, It has a plastic switch as well. It does mix well and looks nice.. Time will tell how it holds up. Those plastic parts probably won't last 80 years like the old model 30.

I’ve been threw a few other blenders and the last one before this one was a high priced and cheaply made. I made 3 shakes and the 4th one it was stripped out with tiny black plastic pieces. Anyways the prime sale perfect timing for me I bought this milkshake maker same day I received it and I used chocolate milk vanilla ice cream and peanut butter and more ice cream vanilla and it mixed a great thick shake even with the peanut butter. Most of the time I used speed 1 but when I got to the peanut butter I went too speed 2 and it mixed it all up. I did have to hold it to mix everything up but that’s okay for the price and I get a thick shake. And if just use your bare hands mixing milkshakes you will regret it use gloves or something else that will protect your hands from frostbite.

I selected this HB model 730C over the less expensive model 727B because under "Product Description it stated: Blade Material Stainless Steel.
Upon unboxing the item I saw that the blase is not made of stainless steel.
It is plastic, just like on the less expensive model 727B.
I also noted that the quality of the product seems poor.
The metal is very thin and the motor is tiny.
It just looks and feels like it wouldn't last very long.
I think I'm probably done with HB.

My initial review of the DrinkMaster

I'm am having a hard time rating this 3 stars but feel that it doesn't deserve 2 stars. I guess when you are use to excellent products, like Breville, getting something as inferior as this machine is hard to stomach. The first thing that I noticed was the motor head seemed sizably smaller that I had expected. The motor sound really good running by itself, but seems to really struggle when you add...huh, ice cream. Really, it's a milkshake maker and one scoop of ice cream makes it sound like its going to die. Beyond sounding like it was going to die, it started smelling like the motor was about to burn up. The motor head was very warm, not hot, but the smell after two minutes was worrisome for the longevity of the product. I will have to say for the $20 this might be a alright hold-me-over-until-I-can-buy-a-decent-drink-mixer machine, but at this price it's a pass-on-it-drink-mixer machine. Regardless of the quality, the main thing that people buy the DrinkMaster for is the ability, or at least the main reason I bought, to make a milkshake, as many other people have stated, like they bought at a Walgreen's, Walmart, Soda Shoppe place. The milkshake that I made was so far from the milkshakes that I have bought at a retail shop that sells milkshakes, may I repeat that, so unlike, so not like, so far, far, far from what I have bought at...uh, places that make great milkshakes, places that make sub-par milkshakes, places that make horrible milkshakes. Comparing the all mighty DrinkMaster to my blender, some people are cringing at the very though of this comparison...my blender make a milkshake as well as, as bad as, this horrific machine. I'm not saying don't buy this machine. I yelling it at you at the top of my lung. So, if you for some reason decide to purchase this machine, don't destroy the box because you will want to sent this spinning plastic contraption back. I will have to at least want until I've used up all the milkshake ice cream first.

My more updated review of the DrinkMaster

I decided that it would be good to leave my initial impression of the DrinkMaster as a point of reference. At first I was saying that I was having a hard time between two, I don't like it, and three stars, it's ok. I have upgrades my opinion on the DrinkMaster a little. Now I'm having a hard time between three stars, it's ok, and four stars, I like it. Eventhough, definitely don't think it rates in the I don't like it area, I still don't think that I like it. It's ok is a good way to describe the DrinkMaster. I'm still so close to wanting to send it back and get a nice commercial grade mixer, but I don't know if I can honestly justify paying $250 for a machine to make milkshakes, right now. When I have one that seems to do an ok, job of it right now.

It still doesn't compare to the quality of Breville. The motor head still seems undersized. It still seems to struggle with ice cream, but with some extra work (wiggling the cup around a lot, moving it up and down), it seems to get the job done in about 5 minutes. I'm not sure how long the plastic agitator will last after having to do all that. I still don't like that it has one agitator and the nice machines have two agitators. It seems like that would really help the milkshake making process. I still don't think it's worth more than $20. Where I drastically differ now from earlier is the ability to produce a milkshake that is as good as a soda shoppe. I'm not sure about your fancy high-end soda shoppes that specialize in those types of product, but as far as fast food milkshakes, I have adjusted my formula and how I make the milkshake and produce a pretty dang good milk shake now. I think frothing the milk or creamer first might be a good step, but I think that you might need to experiment a little and keep a diary of your successful milkshakes and the technique that you used to produce the milkshake to your desired consistence. It might take 4 or 5 tries to actually get the formula correct, but it will produce a good milkshake.

I thought about changing the title of my review, but still think that's an appropriate description of my thoughts on the machine.

Das Gerät ist fantastisch. Die Drinks werden super cremig/fluffig ohne Klumpen zu bilden. Habe das Ganze sowohl für eiweiß shakes, als auch für milch shakes mit eis verwendet.
Der Becher hat ein sehr großes fassungsvermögen (ca. 650ml) und ist aus edelstahl. Becher so wie der abnehmbare Mixstab des Gerätes lassen sich innerhalb einer Minute reinigen. Insofern kann man sagen Verarbeitung und Ergebnisse sind Top.
Allerdings ist hier hinzuzufügen, dass leider

- das Porto sehr teuer ist da das Gerät aus den USA versand wird
- die Lieferung lange dauert (bei mir ca. 3 Wochen)
- der Stecker nur für Amerikanische 110-120V Steckdosen vorgeshen ist, daher wird ein Spannungswandler ( von 230V auf 110/120V) benötigt. Gibts hier bei amazon für 9.80€.

Da ich Versand und Kosten hier nicht negativ mit einfließen lassen wollte, sondern nur die Qualität des Produktes an sich bewertet habe, komme ich auf 5 Sterne.

That's not a problem with me. Two speeds: go, and go hard. And that's it!

The device is not overly complicated to run and it works -- and it makes delicious milk shakes. Set up to completion takes about two minutes.
